I realize that when people have a bad experience somewhere they tend to report it, I do the same - however its not often enough that people report good experiences and I wouldnt have even thought to put a review here if it hadnt been for all the bad reviews! I want to say that I love Feng Nian and I have eaten here for the past 3 years. At the very least I eat here once a week and at the very most I eat here nightly. I LOVE the manager, he is very nice and knowledgeable. I bring friends and family here on a regular basis - even my hard to please mom loves it. My favorite dishes are the salt and pepper shrimp, the wonton soup, the chicken, prawn basil pasta, lettuce wraps (both vegy and chicken), spinach tofu soup, szechwan crispy calamari, broccoli beef as well as their peking duck and their crispy duck - which are fantastic!!! When Im not eating here, Im craving it. I cant say enough good things about Feng Nian!! And the atmosphere is wonderful !!! I have never seen anyone working there get angry at any of the customers and all my friends who eat here have had great experiences as well. Avatars, next door is great too!!!!!!!!

My stand-by, Lams Kitchen, is unfortunately closed on Sundays, so I had to try to find a replacement this past weekend. Not much to choose from in So Marin. Unfortunately, Feng Nian didnt make the cut. Slightly expensive (10-15% higher than competition), bland food, just ok ingredient quality. Stand-out bad was the wonton soup - the broth was basically just water with almost no flavor, wontons and other items were very sparse. I could have saved $8 and just had a glass of water. Had the mu shu chicken - strips of completely spice-less dry white chicken. Ranking for Sausalito/Mill Valley: Lams Kitchen, Tommys Wok, (after this theyre all in the use only if desperate category): Bamboo Hut and tie for last Feng Nian and May Lees.

Only place in Marin with Korean style black bean noodles and jjamppong. All the dishes are fresh and delicious. Highly recommended.

I went based on the bad reviews, and was pleasantly surprised. I had the Mu Shu pork, and found the sauce to be the key to the flavor. The service was excellant, and I will return for that. Ive never ate the entree prior so I have no comparison. The portions were large, and the staff was excellent. Reward staff like that, and give it a shot. I just wish it was slightly cheaper given the quality I felt the food I ordered showcased. I overheard multiple customers talking about the delightful service. -R

Ordered takeout, two vegetarian dishes. The garlic broccoli didnt mention on the online menu that it came with mushrooms, and wasnt very flavorful despite the sauce. The sweet and spicy tofu was tasty but nothing special. Staff were very pleasant (though I would have appreciated an estimate on the phone of how long preparing the order would take), and Id like to try eating in the restaurant sometime based on the atmosphere when I picked up my order, but the food I tried tonight just wasnt all that exciting.

Ordered Mushu pork for delivery. It came to my door, and it looked legit, but when I brought it back inside to dine upon my long awaited mushu, I found that they had simply wrapped a few microwaved (not even cooked!!!) tortillas in some foil. Never would have expected that to come out of a CHINESE restaurant. I love mushu pancakes; thin, wonderful, and delicious. A tortilla is not a legitimate substitute; Nothing is!

We reached here since the avatars beside this restaurant is closed. However, the food was very good and we couldnt help appreciating the food for each scoop. Singapore noodles and lettuce wraps are excellent. Spring rolls over here are lot better than the ones in p.f.chang. I would recommend to visit this place and I would go to this place for sure, if i get a chance again.

We ate their on a whim. We knew nothing about the area or the restaurant. We were very surprised at the quality and service of the food. As first time tourists to the Bay Area, we were tired of the the regular tourist places. The food was very good, service was excellent and the place was nicely decorated. I highly recommend it.

Hot sour soup no flavor and awkward long chunks that dont fit in spoon or in mouth. Flavorless dish. Undercooked brown rice. Egg roll tasty. Boring music and decor, never changes. The worst lady who removes plates and brings bill... NEVER SMILES. She runs whole experience and had been there for years. Very mismanaged place

Really good service! Wish it had air conditioning. The food was very good. Had a decent amount of unique choices for a Chinese restaurant. The steamed pork buns were just ok but the noodles were excellent. They seem to be good at Shanghai area Chinese but lacking in the Canton area.

We eat often at Feng Nian. The waiter persons sometimes have problem with their English fluency, but they try hard. The sometimes fast service is cultural, not purposive. They slow down if you ask. The specials are often wonderful and seasonal. All-in-all, one of our favorites.

No need to go to SF. Our favorite is princess prawns, lightly fried large shrimp (no fillers) in a spicy, hot sauce. Gen. chow chicken, mongolian beef, mu shu pork (with homemade pancakes), asparagus & oyster sauce are also great. We love it, right down to the mango ice cream.

After a long absence, we returned to Feng Nian. Mistake! Mediocre food, mediocre service. Crispy Fried Duck did NOT taste fresh. The server presented us with the check before we asked for it and without asking us if we wanted anything more. We will not return.

The other reviewers mentioning the grumpy owner are correct... he always seems so angry. Nevertheless, the food here is wonderful, and might even be, as one other reviewer wrote, the best in Marin.

I read the reviews and figured at least it would be good for delivery. The guy was short and kinda rude with me. The food was really good though. Gen. Cho Prawn and Shrimp...
