Okay, a view and location can only take you so far. Eventually low blood sugar will kick in and not getting food for over 45 minutes with a clueless server can weigh on you. So lets start with the positives: Located on the bay in Sausalito, has beautiful view, and it has the vibe and ability to just get a drink and sit out near the water. good for a first date, getting to know someone. And yes, there is one bocce court. Pizza was good, artisan and a few with exotic flavor combinations. I like that, but its not a traditional pizzeria style. I dont know about the appetizers because we never got them... Now the inevitable negatives that make me never want to go back: Server, male, 20s-30s, scruffy beard. Seemed nice enough, but kept making huge rude mistakes: -Kept coming back in the first 10 minutes while we were talking, asking for our order. We opted to give him a handful of apps to start with. Then harrassing us to order every 3-5 minutes, we ordered pizza about 15 min in. 30 min, 45 min, we flagged him down. He says, "yeah, theyre on their way" to which I replied, "how do you know? have you checked with the kitchen? Are you sure you put them in?" his response was "Im pretty sure I did". He walked off and came back 2 minutes later, "Oh I guess I didnt put them in. Ill put them in now, k?" "Well, actually, isnt the pizza on the way?" "Oh yeah... so you want the pizza first, or do you want me to hold the pizza in the window and wait for the apps??" I composed myself... (smiling first is a great de-escalation tool). "I think the point of the apps were to feed us when we were famished 45 min ago, BEFORE waiting 20 min for pizza. If the pizza is ready, we would like to eat it please, and lets just not do the apps." and my friend added, "since youre taking care of the food at this point, right" (as the server walked away.) Lets fast forward to dessert, since this was my wifes Bday dinner. We got 2 desserts, decent, nothing to write home about. And then the check.... Oy vay.... Well, this lovely gentleman who was originally so eager to get us to order so he could turn the table was nowhere to be found. Once we walked into the inside and flagged him down, he brought the check out, placed it down. Didnt acknowledge the problems that had happened, didnt apologize of the slow service, nothing... And then we looked at the bill. It was all there, no gratis dessert, nothing taken off for our problems. My friend and I looked at it and the ladies "pretended" to go to the bathroom so they wouldnt get embarassed by anything we might say. Again, we flagged the server down, and asked if he was going to take care of any part of the bill for all the problems that happened tonight. His response was "What? what wasnt good tonight? Just remind me, I dont understand. What are you looking for?" I had a blank stare back at my friend, mouth agape, "uh... well, remember? you forgot the apps? harasssing us to order? took us another 20 min to order desserts after the meal?" "Okay guys, if thats what you say, so what do you want? you tell me what to do and Ill see what I can do. you know because, as long as youre happy. (silence, and we just looked at him) How about I take care of one of the desserts? and Ill do the more expensive of them?" We just shrugged our shoulders and said, "If thats what you feel we deserve, then I guess thats what were getting." Heres what theyre getting: an honest and crappy review... no management touching tables, no communication, no accountability, no remorse, no sense of service. I couldve gone to Amicis and gotten better. He must make his money from playing the numbers. Heres what theyre not getting: My business again, a full tip (on $100 bill, I tipped $10 as a statement, (remember, I was a server myself for 15 years, and normally do 20% default, even if things go wrong and they show care and remorse.)) Please stay away, Go somewhere else. they need better management and service. Boom (online dropping of the mic)

As everyone says beautiful views on the water and a bocce ball court. One of the 3 best pizza in town. Rock shrimp po boy and meatball sandwich are great except for the price. We had 1 po boy and one other dish + one glass of wine and paid $50 including tax and 20% tip. We like most of the food here but it is a little pricy so we go other places most of the time. Im sure many locals do the same unless they are "upper crust" locals and money grows on trees. Pun intended! One of the desserts is to die for but sorry I cant remember the name of it. Note to owners: Youd get a LOT MORE locals on the many quiet days if your prices were more reasonable or you had a residents discount! We only come here once a month because of the price but if we could spend a little less wed be here 5 or 6 times a month. Took one star away for over pricing on the food. Ill put it up to a solid 4 * if prices were level with most of Sausalitos good restaurants. Menu is limited. Seems to be built around the pizza with a lot of salads and sides. We sure wish they had more mains because if you dont want or cant get pizza its really hard to figure out what to eat! On the Saturday night we were there they amazingly ran out of pizza dough! How on earth do you run out of the dishes your menu is built around? Im not taking any stars away for that, we cant always be perfect can we. Just saying. And that fact tells you how great the pizza is. They do get real, real busy with non locals on weekends although I have a trick to get into busy restaurants. Do you think Im going to spill the beans right here? Well get over it because were not going to rune it for ourselves on getting into crowded places. My dinner friend has been in the food service industry for a real long time and Ive dined in 25 countries and 46 states so weve paid our dues and our dollars. This is one of the few things Im going to stay selfish about and not share.

Service. Go Travis. I walked in with my wife and two hungry kids. Travis saw us, sat us immediately pulling two tables together and asked us if he could bring us some water or something to drink. I said, first thing I need is a cheese pizza for the kid. He totally understood what I meant and ran off to the kitchen to place the order. He then came back promptly and offered us blankets for our laps. Yes, the place has heaters for above, and blankets for your legs. Very smart and welcome. Food was tasty (pizza fabulous!), beer was good. Sadly, I have to report that the pumpkin seed salad made me and my wife sick. The kids shared the pizza with us, along with some garlic bread, but they didnt try the salad. Bad pumpkin seeds? Something else entirely? Who knows. But that experience would only make me wary of that one dish, and wed return there if we visit Sausalito again.
