My beau and I came here for a double date night with a few friends. The experience was perfectly lovely, though I must confess it wasnt anything special. I ordered the Spaghetti Squash Casserole searching for something that had a little more substance than a salad, but still healthy and affordable. I added chicken hoping to get a little more protein- but realized it was only protein overload due to the abundance of cheese they dumped on it. Id say the dish consisted of 45% spaghetti squash 40% Mozzarella cheese, 5% chicken, 5% tomato/zucchini, 5% Marinara sauce. Needless to say this didnt turn out nearly as healthy as I had hoped, but fortunately it was tasty. If I was comfortable spending more money I am sure I would have enjoyed the Sea Bass, Trout, or Chicken much more, but I wasnt prepared to make it a costly dinner. My other three dinner companions stuck to the cheaper side of the menu as well and ordered Street Tacos, a Bison Burger, and Panang Curry. The tacos and burger were pleasant but ordinary. My friend was surprised by how much he enjoyed his Panang Curry, potatoes and a variety of vegetables sizzling in a spicy coconut shellfish broth. Though no one seemed especially thrilled by their dish, everyone was more than impressed by their drink menu. Us girls had an extensive wine menu to choose from and the beer menu consisted of many of our guys’ favorites. The atmosphere was hip and chic, the mini vegetable planters decorating the entrance and smell of citrus give it a sense of healthy/quality cuisine. The tall ceilings and wood tables made it appear spacious and attractive. We sat in the outdoor dining area which provided a beautiful fire pit and warm heating lamps, a quiet place to bring friends for an elegant meal. The service was attentive, reflective of the clientele- which according to the overflowing parking lot filled with Ferraris and Bentleys was indicative of the ritzy part of Orange County in which the restaurant resides. The waiter later explained that the menu and ingredients are based on Dr. Andrew Weil’s anti-inflammatory diet; satisfying the body with exotic fruits and vegetables that enhance your immune system, and organic foods free of hormones and erroneous oils. They probably use the healthy ingredients as an excuse for the exaggerated prices, but I don’t find it appropriate. In conclusion, it was a delightful evening which I would love to revisit; however the inflated prices are unjustified and limit True Foods to only special occasions.

+ True Food is an interesting restaurant for its food, really. Everything is healthy and organic : juices, salads, pizza, and even sandwiches, and prices are affordable. Dishes always go with fresh vegetables, as avocados, tomatoes, lettuce, sweet potatoes - the orange thing diced - or seeweed... Juices are refreshing and cheap (colors are just amazing). The waitress was very sympathic and smiling. We have been served faster that I expected. First, we share one mushroom pizza ; it is with cheese and mushrooms, almost shitake (I highly recommend you this pizza). Then, I took a vegetarian sandwich at $12 (the cheapest, dont remember the name sorry) : excellent. I wasnt starving so I ordered that thinking it was going to be small BUT not at all, the sandiwch was hearty - the plate was filled though. We didnt take a desert because we were completely full. Oh, yeah, we drank 2 juices. The taste is surprising but its worth checking out. - The room is giant and there is A LOT of noise. But it is bearable if you are accustomed to noisy restaurants... Other than that, the place worth it. Enjoy your future meal and tell me about it.

What a refreshing spot to stumble upon in Santa Monica! Love their outside patio -- with the outside heaters, you can sit in mid-winter quite comfortably. Comfy wooden seating surrounding the wall and plants here and there giving it a real "green" and relaxing feeling. Came here for lunch and was oh-so-tempted to do the tourist thing and find somewhere near the pier with a beach view, but the menu was too tempting and Im so glad I gave into temptation. I had the sundried tomato and olive pizza with kale pesto and fresh mozarella ($11) and the herb hummus appetizer ($10) which came with pita bread, feta cheese and tomatoes. Pizza was delish. Some people may think of "kale" as a four letter word. They obviously have not sampled the kale pesto here. So in the end, this was not exactly a cheap lunch by any means, but certainly a quality one. Service was attentive and friendly. And can I just say that the bathrooms were stylish with their modern fixtures and spotless to boot. Totally would come back here.

LOVED THIS PLACE! I was in Santa Monica for 3 days for work and ate 1 dinner and 2 lunches here! I was staying at The Shore Hotel across the street from Santa Monica Place, so getting there was easy. 3 years ago I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease, as well as a Red Meat allergy. Needless to say, finding really good Gluten Free food has been very difficult... until I found True Food Kitchen. :) The first night I had the Gluten-Free Cheese Ravioli, which was unbelievable, and the Wild Mushroom Pizza with Gluten-Free crust. Then the following 2 days, I had the Gluten-Free Cheese Ravioli for lunch. I sat up near the bar, so the service was pretty great considering the place was packed. Oh, and the place has a really good vibe. Great food. Great service. I posted some food photos on my instagram and twitter @scotty703 Cant wait to go back and try a few other things. The Ravioli was soooooo good though.

Passed this place tons of time and didnt even look it up. Spacey, healthy and pricey (you pay for what you get). Their vegetarian asian dishes were unique and savory. I wasnt too fond of their drink because I was expecting it to be sweeter. Friend was happy with his kale juice while I added sugar to my cucumber refresher. Im curious what their cocktails taste like... My friend got the curry dish, which is so filling and delicious! Next time I come here I would def order that. My spaghetti squash casserole was satisfying thanks to the cheese, I wish the entree was a lil bigger. Felt like a good appetizer than an actual dinner. Service was ok. Took a while to get the check.

Love the ambiance! Its very open, simple, clean, and green. We already had lunch, but we wanted to try their drinks. We were feeling very "LA" and got the pomegranate limeade and kale aid to go so that we can drink it on the beach. The pomegranate limeade was good, but wasnt anything special. It tasted like you can get it almost anywhere. The kale aid though... very fragrant, you can totally taste the kale and it was super tangy! But you feel really healthy drinking it. It was one of those drinks where it was "weirdly good." Overall, I enjoyed the drinks. It costs practically as much as a small (thats only a small exaggeration), but it was good.

Great shaved turkey sandwich, Cale salad. However, service was snooty and when I asked for a starter, cause we were very hungry waiting for lunch. The snotty little kid, seemed 15 yrs old was behind the counter and he recommended a vegetable dish. It arrived with our lunch and was an entree itself and was $15 (more expensive than either of our entrees. It was a real bait and switch and seemed consistent with his terrible attitude and negligent tone. If I went there ever again, Id never sit at the counter. He should NOT work in any service industry. Lunch was $54 and service was terrible. Good food though!
