I came here tonight really excited by the prospect that I would finally find a delicious fusion sushi place, and I came out underwhelmed.. I want to preface this review with saying that I am rather attached to my favorite japanese fusion roll restaurant, Sushi Dan, in Los Angeles, so I have been trying to find a place that mirrors the quality and price of it here in the bay area. Here is the breakdown: Spicy Garlic Edamame - I had read some reviews that this was delicious, but I thought it was incredibly overcooked and the sauce was really overwhelming and way too syrup-like. I definitely dont recommend it. At over $5 for the side order, it was also very overpriced. Orange Ball - I thought this roll was alright. Its good if you are a fan of salmon. I thought again that the sauce was a little overpowering, but I am a fan of salmon treated more simply. I did however like the way that the citrus in the sauce played with the saltiness of the soy sauce when I dipped the roll pieces. Barbara - My fiance ordered this roll, and it "mushy" in texture which we both agreed on, but I really did enjoy the flavors. The roll was very creamy and I liked that it was baked because it being warm gave it a totally different flavor profile than typical rolls. Overall, my experience wasnt bad, but it wasnt something that I would come back for. Everything seemed a little overpriced (in the context of sushi, since all sushi is pretty expensive), but Im glad I gave the place a shot.

Im willing to give this restaurant another try. The first thing that I noticed was that the parking lot is not big enough for the several businesses sharing it. There appears to be additional storefronts going in adjacently and there is another parking lot that is currently fenced off. You may try street parking, but it is often hit or miss. Parking is important to me, as you can probably tell. Today there were not any open spots. The service was helpful, but slow. It seemed like they may have been understaffed which is somewhat understandable given the holiday. The tempura was cold by the time that it came out, but the udon noodles were great and the combination is a good deal.

Innovative but expensive sushi. This place is very hip and screams "modern Asian fusion." I really like the ambiance, it has dim lighting but its almost like you are in a club. The menu has normal Japanese food - udon, ramen, bento boxes. Its still around $16-18, think the bento box is a better deal than getting a roll. The list is extensive and they have interesting mixes of sushi- some loaded with different types of fish and fruits and other ingredients. I paid $17 for a Macadamia nut and yellowtail tuna roll - it was good but in my opinion pretty overpriced. I was still hungry. Good place to impress a date, but nothing outstanding.

Im surprised we didnt discover this place earlier since we love Japanese food. Food: sushi rolls were well presented and most importantly delicious! The Dragon Roll roll, Fhat Joe roll, Tropicana roll and Green Tea Tempura ice cream are highly recommended. Price: A little higher than your average but worth it. Decor: Clean and modern enough to invite guests here. Service: Great.

Great sushi joint. Nigiri and sashimi are awesome, fish is incredibly fresh especially because of their high volume of customers. Hwe Dup Bap is a perfect blend of leafy lettuce, chunks of sashimi, garlic, and a nice touch with a quail egg. Recommended dishes are the Orange Ball roll, Cajun sashimi, wasabi radish wrap, lava roll.

This is a fusion style Japanese restaurant. Many sushi rolls that are "non-Japanese" , more CA style. I like their sashimi salad, which has tons of various greens. The only complaint I have is that they have recently decided to chop the sashimi in the salad into really small pieces and that kind of destroy the texture!

Amazing food and service. Rolls are huge. We had the big Daddy roll, spicy and delicious! The Cajun tuna app was a large serving (in pic) highly recommend, seared to perfection. Try the green tea tempura ice cream! So decadent. We had a fabulous server, she was attentive, friendly and provided great recommendations.

My wife and I have been coming here every week for a year (seriously). We tried several other sushi restaurants around here, but none compare. The food is always fresh, the staff are always friendly, and the combinations are inventive. If youre looking for sushi, dont bother going anywhere else.

Really good fresh sushi. I like this place because the teriyaki beef is REALLY tender. Other places Ive gone its tough and gristly. This place uses a good cut of meat and that makes all the difference. The prices are about what you would expect for a sushi place.

Super recommend "bay love" roll. Recommend sashimi bowel. Environment is good and spacious. Maybe it is the peak hour for dinner, serving is a bit slow. Look forward to coming back and trying other dishes.

The fish (nigiri and sashimi) were both excellent. Very tender and properly aged. Our roll (sweet and spicy) was also excellent. Our only complaint was that the rice was a bit on the dry side.

The sushi rolls we happened to get didnt have good flavors blended together. There was a disconnect with their combinations.
