I organized my daughter’s birth party over here during May-2009. One thing that was commonly shared among all my guests were that food was excellent and so was the customer service. Based on my past experience, I, along with my wife and daughter decided to visit the restaurant. Contrary to the recent reviews, I once again found food delicious and of impeccable quality. Few of things that is evidently noticeable about Mezbaan restaurants are *Manager Mr Paramjit Gill was at the door greeting every customers and making them feel welcome; a very unique for any restaurant *Restaurant was extremely clean and seating was very well organized. *Food was accessible from all sides and very neatly arranged. *Manager Mr Gill was very courteous to take time to talk with each of the customers. He is one man, who seemed very honest and wanted us to give an honest feedback on what we felt and how he can improve customer experience. Unfortunately, I did not have any negative to tell him. I really admire his customer service. *When we seek help from waiters they were very courteous and keen on serving us. *Both the vegetarian and non-vegetarian food was extremely palatable. I can not pick one item which I would say I did not like. Few of the items that were my favorite were Mezbaan special chicken, chicken masala, starter chaat, chola, pakoras. Every food item very carefully cooked with right amount of spices to bring out an eclectic taste. I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. I have lived in Bay area for almost a decade and I found this to be one of the best. Do not just go by the reviews, just go and try for yourself. It will be an experience. -Savvy

TLDR : Amazing for lunch buffet, expensive otherwise I have eaten here at least 15 times. The food is incredible. The best deal is of course the lunch buffet. It has quite a wide variety of delicious dishes ranging from goat curry (my fav) to various daals to tandoori chicken, and they give you all the fresh baked naan you like. The only reason I give less than 5 stars is because anytime Ive eaten here other than for the buffet I feel slighted in the portion size and price. I have absolutely nothing but great things to report about the food quality and taste. The premises is always very clean and the manger is incredibly friendly and attentive. I understand that we are in a rough economy and prices are high in South Bay, and with wage increases businesses need to raise their prices to survive. Perhaps a way to fix the slightly overpriced menu options would be to increase portion size. The additional food cost in raising a portion size (since fix costs are the lions share and they are already met when a customer sits down and orders) would leave people feeling well fed and more satisfied with their expenditure.

I went there with family on saturday afternoon and only 2/3 tables were occupied. The waiter is a freaking horrible terrible person. He is not right for the job. He wouldnt crack a smile..He actually TAPPED on our table and told us to leave because he had to set the tables for evening..We still had plenty of time according to their schedule posted on the door..Our naan never came..we had to eat without naan..food was not good...not tasty at all..its your call Somebody said here that authentic Indian food must be judged by authentic Indians..we are and we think this restaurant sucks..and by the way who says non Indians cant tell the difference between good food and bad food...thats so STUPID...If its possible I would give - 0 stars for this place..

After trying many Indian restaurants in the Bay Area, I have found that Mezbaan offers some of the best quality and variety of Indian food. I have been going to Mezbaan for over two years and have yet to be disappointed. The service is excellent and you are always welcome with a smile and a handshake. The tandori and pakoris are my favorite, while recently I tried the lamb curry. I was hesitant at first, as I am not much of a curry person, but I will say the lamb was extremely tender. Overall, I would recommend anyone looking for a qualtity indian meal give Mezbann a try. I have yet to be disappointed, and will continue to go.

This place is convenient for us, but thats the only reason we come here. The food isnt that terrible, but its not that great. On two separate occasions weve ordered samosas and theyve come out with the interior of one or both cold or partially frozen, which makes me wonder just how fresh the rest of their food is if theyre giving us microwaved samosas during dinner service. I hear their lunch buffet is better, but for dinner were usually one of maybe two tables occupied, despite having a staff of 4-6 people walking around.

Buffet is way overpriced for the amount of selection. Most food tasted good except the batura which was like a Frisbee. We were seated upstairs and the carpet on the steps were sticking to the shoes, so either all the grease has been absorbed there or something spilled badly and no one bothered to clean up. The upstairs table were stacked to closely to one another so youd backup into someone behind you for sure. Staff seemed friendly but it will be great to see an occasional smile!

This restaurant serves food as buffet all the time and they are same all the time and I liked it for the first time when I went here but the second time I hated it because of the same dishes. The third time and thats my last go to this restaurant. I dont want to go there now until I forget those dishes lol.....But we have to accept the fact that the mutton dishes are awesomeeeeee here. Chicken dishes I dont like them at all. Poori and Chole sucks here, Gulab Jamun is good here.

Just average for lunch on 2/6/09. I see somebody raved about the Naan here, but really it was only average. I am a veggie so I cant comment on the meat dishes, but the veggie dishes were just average too. So there you go. Theres nothing wrong with being average. Service was attentive. There was a queue of people waiting to come in, so maybe thats a good recommendation, or maybe it just means that a reasonably priced lunch buffet is hard to find in this part of the valley.

My fiance and I have visited dozens of different Indian restaurants and frequently cook our own Indian food. Both of us were very satisfied with the quality, flavor, spice complexity, and heat of the food that we received here (our main dishes were Chicken Tikka Masala and Karahi Chicken). We ordered through carry-out, but our limited interactions with the staff were also polite. Well definitely be back.

While the Indian food is OK, when in the spot, this should be the last slot on your mind when in South bay. Their did is pretty bad and the only time you should even try the place is for buffet lunches. Ala carte feels like a rip off for the quantity and quality. For great Mughalai food, check out Naan n Masala - tasty food at dirt cheap prices. Warning - it is a hole in the wall kinda place.
