This place is amazing!! My favorite sandwich spot in San Rafael and an easy walk from my work. Small place with a super friendly staff. The ingredients (especially the produce) and the bread are super fresh. The highlights of Viking Submarine Sandwiches are the delicious Mustard Vinaigrette and the spicy peppers. I order extra of both so that I can make sure that every bite has both. The other plus is that Viking Submarine Sandwiches is enough for me to eat part for lunch and part for dinner.

Caught them before closing with several people left in dining area. The cook insisted my order be made to go but after my order, an order to eat-in came out. I then insisted on eating in and the woman in charge agreed. I think had she been around, I would been welcomed to eat in. If your customers are allowed to order close to closing, then they should be allowed to dine-in, no questions asked. Pot stickers were good, but somewhat expensive.

As for the cockroaches I have never seen any. I eat here often, and the food has never seemed suspicious. Sometimes insects happen. From what I can see of the kitchen it looks clean. The woman is wonderfully friendly. I suggest trying the Udon chicken soup with hot sauce. Many people from my work (down the street) prefer to go here than the myriad of other places around the area.

First experiance friday lunch time rush, wait time for a philly cheese steak was 30 minutes. Based on all reviews I decided to wait, crew where so nice, pleasant and infomative. They got me out with sandwich in hand 10 minutes, thank you. I will be back and tell people in my office.

Great place to eat, it feels like a hole in the wall. Food is spectacular with great variety in taste. Price is very reasonable for the portions, be prepared to be full. RD

I have eaten at Viking for 6+ years now. They are very consistent and I have never got a bad sandwich there. I usually go 2-3 times a week. A nice alternative to fast food!
