All throughout my life I have always been the one not to follow the leader. When people go left I slide to the right. When everybody does the Harlem shake Im off doing the Dougie. (*_*). ( *_*). ( *_*) _/| |\_ | | _ _/| | // // // Teach me how to Dougie. So when I see the average rating for Wing Fat is at 3 stars, Im gonna rate it a 4. Now before the shunning begins I have my reasons why I am a fan. Maybe its the fact that they earned their street cred. Been doing it live since 1965. Give or take a couple of years but theyve been in this business for so long you know that theyre doing something right. True to its age the decor looks like you stepped into the 60s. A few tables inside so it can get packed easily. Most of the time I just take it to go. Now Wing Fat is one of those places that everything on the menu may not be bangin but there is one item that will tantalize your taste buds. Trust me on this their BBQ pork is a must order. Everything else can be a hit or miss. I admit that it is Americanized and not as authentic as some other places but just because it isnt authentic doesnt mean that it doesnt taste good. Generous portions and cut-rate prices are another reason I keep coming back. Bring cash on hand, unlike most Hollywood celebrities Wing Fat doesnt acquire plastic.

I live in San Jose but have been coming to Wing Fat for years any time I am anywhere near San Mateo, usually buying to go for dinner. It has always been great and very inexpensive. I was here today after about six months, and the place looked the same but I noticed the prices had gone up substantially. I ordered the lunch special, and the rice and chow mein had very little meat and the portions were smaller. Wondering if ownership has changed. Different guy behind the counter. I brought home egg foo young for dinner, as well as chicken eggplant; will have to see how that is. Maybe I came in on an off day. Ill try it one more time.

Been going since I was very little. The bet Chinese food in my own opinion. I use to get chicken fried rice and thats all. But then I got hooked onto the special lunch or dinner for one. I get the chow mein with no vegetables, pork fired rice, and an egg roll. You can choose if you want two prawns or one egg roll. I get the egg roll because I do not really like seafood. The egg roll is not the best though. I prefer eating there because the food tastes better right when its ready. Ive only ate there 2 times and honestly the food tasted much better than taking it to go.

The BEST EVER Chinese food you must try it .you will be hooked been in business over 60YRS that says something. Best to get it to go small eat in spot. My favorites are the won tonight soup and wing fat special chow mein!!!

They make food quickly and it taste great, Im a big fan of their Chicken Fried Rice and Barbecue Pork. The only negative I can think of is that they only accept cash.
