The food is great but WOW! all of their fish tanks need a lot of work. My family have never had a bad meal here but the fish tanks are so sad, broken and empty it is REALLY not appetizing, in fact its depressing. The solution is simple, let someone outside the restaurant business trade them food credit for fish maintenance and upkeep. Im sure they could call around to a few fish stores and find someone who would help them (probably just out of the love of fish with the delicious food as a bonus). I dont want the chef or the friendly waiters having to stop their regular job to remove dead fish, clean the tanks install new plastic plants etc. but if youre going to have fish tanks in your restaurant, you have to have the responsibility of making them at least decent. Maybe they should go with something really easy to maintain like crayfish in all of the tanks. (The same goes for their bathroom toilet upkeep and maintenance but I wont go there.) To sum it up: Their food is Great, their people are outstanding but there fish tanks are depressing.

This is our go-to for steamed BBQ pork bows / Char su bow. Theyre filled with the best Chinese BBQ sauce and the pork is always tender and most. The flour is never chewy or dry. If left alone with several orders of these things I think wed turn diabetic in a hurry. The portions are decent for the money, they have most of the old stand bys (sweet & sour pork, broccoli beef, honey Walnut prawns, etc) and then some other, more adventurous dishes. This place always has a group of what seem like regulars enjoying dinner and thats never a bad sign...

The food is great, but THEY are absolutely wonderful. I ordered Shrimp and Broccoli in brown sauce, and when I called to grump about the fact that there was a buttery (and, as it happens, excellent) sauce rather than brown sauce, expecting a classic defensiveness like, "You didnt order brown sauce.". But instead they immediately were like, "Well send you another one right away!" and did. Lickity-split, eye-blink fast, and lickity-yummy. Super impressed! Give them business, theyre good people.

We searched for a nice Chinese restaurant. Finally, came about this small and friendly place. It is not an upscale restaurant, but what looks like a family business with friendly staff. We had Mongolian beef, Kung Pao Tofu, Garlic eggplant and vegetables noodles. With egg rolls and 2 beers. Plenty of food, large portions and yummmmm so tasty!!! The final bill was a ridiculous $43. Thank you King Dong for making our Friday evening, we will definitely see you again, SOON!

King Dong is a fast-food Chinese take out place. I dont think of it as fancy, gourmet, or top-of-the-line, but its a GREAT place to get fast, tasty food, or have it delivered to your door. It really helps that its located right next to UC Berkeley, as a college student it is pretty much the best late night dinner ever. After having graduated, I still find myself craving some of their food from time to time, and it never disappoints :)

Ive been going to King Dong Restaurant for 15 years +. I love the Szechuan Beef. You get soup, salad and tea with the meal. The portions are amazing for the price. Their service is excellent. The staff is very friendly. The parking is challenging but I recommend this to anyone who wants a great meal for a great price in less than an hour. They deliver too. But I miss Anna!!!

This is my go to spot for Chinese in Berkeley--always has been, always will be. Lunch specials are a terrific bargain and staff pretty much recognize my family and I though tinted shades at 500 yds in a snow storm. Brown rice and generous substitutions (say, beef fried rice over the common steamed white side) keep a soft spot in my heart for the purveyors of King Dong.

We live about a mile from the Dong - it is not Shen Hua or House of Nanking, but it is decent hot food and quick delivery. Last time we phoned, they were at our door in 16 minutes. A new record, for sure. We recommend the Spicy Eggplant and Double Mushroom Chicken. Ask for the free Wontons or Egg Rolls with $20 order.

Tried for the first time yesterday. The food was good, the price was great and the service was very good! I called for delivery and it arrived very quickly. The bag included not only the meal, but every thing needed to enjoy the meal. I will order again, just want a good meal...and to see if my experience was a fluke!

We ordered delivery....they never brought it...we called after an hour, and they said it was 5-10 minutes away....it never came. When we called them back, they were closed. Never called us back, never apologize. Worst restaurant delivery experience in this area. Dont take an order if youre not going to deliver it!!!!!

If you order right, this food is sublime: try the Mandarin prawns, the Kung Pao tofu, or any of the vegetarian "chicken" dishes. The craziest part is the speed of delivery. Granted I live less than a half mile from the place, but they consistently deliver during peak hours within 15 minutes. Insane.

Visiting from Southern California and stop by and had a feast. The large wonton soup is enough for 2-3 people. And the entree portions are enough for 2 people. My favorite plate was the deluxe chow mien and the deluxe spicy fried rice. I would highly recommend this place. Two thumbs up!!

Family run Chinese food which delivers on what it promises. Huge portions and amazing price/quantity ratio makes up for the quality of the food. Dont go expecting a five star gastronomic experience. Go expecting to eat good, plentiful food for cheap prices and enjoy your evening.

I would starve to death if this place didnt exist. Awesome lunch and dinner specials starting at around $5, quick service, tasty food. Not saying this is the best Chinese Ive ever had, but its consistently good enough and cheap enough to be a frequent entry on my take-out list.

The epitome of cheap college food. You can very easily have a whole meal here for $8 or less, and the lunch specials can get even cheaper. Not a bad place to sit and eat with friends either. The food is a bit greasy though, but its a good alternative to Asian ghetto.

I dont normally go into shadily lit Chinese places that are a bit out of the way. But come on, its called King Dong. The food here mostly consists of Americanized Chinese food, served in a setting thats honestly kind of depressing. But the food itself is alright.

I came here with my friend who cannot eat beef and I only eat seafood... We both found dishes that were flavorful and filling and met our exact dietary requirements. I recommend starting off with a Cream Cheese & Crab won ton appetizer, it wont disappoint!

The cost decidedly determines the quality. The portions are quite large, especially considering the price. I love it because my expectations are naturally low for a low cost restaurant. A lot of okay food for a great price is a win for me.

The food was good, but it was falsely advertising a huge dong. I am disappointed at the lack of the huge dong that I was expecting. Also the sausages were not good at all. They lacked the ability to shoot man juice all over my face.
