The prime rib ribs were fantastic. Hands down. They were meaty, not much fat with meat sliding off the bone. I am sorry I did not order more of those fantastic ribs. Killed two Chicago hotdogs that were puny and served with potatoe chips. Dont bother. You can get a better hot dog at Shell Tanforan in San Bruno for $2. Deep dish "Refrigerator" (Wm Perry) pizza was soggy, globby with their crust tasting like some sort of cookie dough that I cannot put my finger on. They should call their pies, "pizza pot pies". Dont bother. Zorbas & Mr Pizza Man puts out way better pies, much better. Heck, for $5.45 Little Caesars might be a better fit for your wallet & belly. It is my hunch that this joint knows their meaty ribs. Stick to their ribs, and you cant go wrong. Pass on the rest of the menu. Their deep dish pizza is a travesty. If I want a pot pie, I can go to SWY and get one from the freezer case. Finally, unlimited individual plastic cup refills for Coke products. No booze. Beer & wine only. Lavatory clean, but not like Jacks (next door) which is pristine clean & new. Jacks has a fantastic lavatory. When do we eat, Windy City??

Went here for a team meeting and to visit our client (Windy City Pizza) and was very impressed with the food. The deep dish pizza was awesome! I was also surprised to find a BBQ pulled chicken sandwich on the menu because you dont see pulled chicken many places, its always pulled pork. I used to jump on my bike and take the 260 mile round trip along the coast ride down to Aptos just for a Spicy Pulled Chicken BBQ Sandwich. But the place changed hands and the food isnt the same. So Ive been on the hunt for a new place to get a killer pulled chicken sandwich. Finally found it! The BBQ Pulled Chicken Sandwich at Windy City Pizza topped with their spicy original BBQ sauce is AMAZING! This will be my new stopping place when headed to the coast for a ride or a cruise from now on!

Always a great place, off the beaten path in San Mateo. Perfect for on-peninsula meetings "half-way" between the South Bay and SF. Just off 92 at El Camino with easy access from 101 or 280, Windy City has great stuffed, pan, and thin crust pizza, as well as ribs and BBQ Pork. The pizza isnt quite like any that I ever had in Chicago, but it has excellent unique personality. If you want the pan or stuffed more Chicago-like (similar to Ginos East pan, or Giordanos/Nancys/Edwardos stuffed, ask for a "Red-Head."

Great Deep Dish Chicago Pizza (the sauce is NOT too salty) :) Great Texas BBQ, but what I love best is the Chicago style Italian Beef Sandwich: The classic, featuring lean, domestic roast-beef top round, perfectly spiced and thinly sliced for Chicago style Italian beef sandwiches.Pile on some authentic giardiniera, a blend of hot peppers, olives, carrots, celery and spices in oil.

Great Chicago deep dish, the Refrigerator #72 redhead is frikkin incredible. Next time, Ill ask them to leave it in a few more minutes to crisp it up a bit, but thats just my preference. Im not quite sure if its made with corn oil, but there is some corm meal. Ive had some with a stronger corn oil taste. Im not sure whats more authentic, but this crust has a pleasant, balanced flavor.

The deep dish pizza is very good, closest Ive come to when I used to live in Chicago. I was real interested in trying their Italian Beef which was another Chicago favorite of mine. This was a bit disappointing, the meet was too thick and a bit tough to bite through, marinade was kinda bland too. So pizza is 5 stars, italian beef only 3...havent tried the BBQ yet

This is by far the best pizza in the Bay Area! The pizza has thick crust, the toppings are fresh, and the BBQ pork is tender and juicy. You cant go wrong with anything on the menu. Relaxed atmosphere-- perfect for a family night out or a casual night out with friends. The owner is often in the restaurant and will soon have your order memorized!

Came here because we were craving for good deep dish pizza. After reading some reviews online, we tried their Windy City Combo, Chicago Famous Stuffed Style & Redhead Style. After ordering it that way, I am hooked! Its sooo good! We also lucked out as we came during happy hour so drinks were on happy hour prices.

Before there was Little Star and Patxis in San Francisco.... there was Windy City on the Peninsula. Serves up really good deep dish pizza. Its no as good as Little Star - but it really does the trick when youre in the mood for some deep dish pizza. I usually go for a sausage and mushroom. And its great!

This is hands down the best pizza in the Bay Area. The deep dish pizza is outstanding and the BBQ is to die for. The staff is really friendly and the service is great. I highly recommend this place. It has a good beer selection and is very fun during Bears games! I love this place!

The barbecue was good but our barbecue pizza was burnt so they compt us some cheese sticks but when we got our pizza it tasted horrible. We should of tried something else and it wasnt "red head". Swore it said on menu all pizzas are made like that or ask for regular way.

One of my favorite pizza places - great deep dish Chicago style pizza and wonderful people running it. Also, excellent BBQ that I get raves about whenever I take this out for club meetings and family events. A comfortable place to hang out, eat, talk and watch sports.

They do a nice job with pizza. Very sports minded place so not to my taste, but thats just the way it is. The beef ribs were disappointing. Good sauce but the beef wasnt nearly tender enough. Greens were surprisingly good but the mac and cheese was not. Fair pricing.

I ordered some 18-hour brisket, and some ribs. Brisket seemed good but the ribs were overdone and hard. Must have gotten the last of the batch or something. Difficult to tell what the meat tasted like because they drowned it in spicy barbecue sauce. Not my style.

Heard go things before visiting, which I can now confirm. The pizza was good, and the BBQ was fantastic! Very "sports bar-ish" inside, which is fine and totally casual. Owner was there too, and very friendly. A top casual dining spot in San Mateo!

Be assertive to make sure you get what you want (service is not their strong point). The root beer on tap is tasty but no refills :( Pizza is quite good though and make it worth going. Most of the other menu items I wasnt so impressed with.

Limited amount of healthy food options. The chicken salad is the only healthy option on the menu. It feels more like a sports bar than a restaurant. The pizza is great tasting though, and probably very unhealthy!

Good food and great service at the bar. Great people to enjoy a few beers with any nite when the bears are not playing. If however you love the bears then this is the spot to go when they are playing.

Chicago deep dish pizza to rival anything in chitown. Rabid Chicago sports fans here all the time. They have Chicago style dogs that are good too. Beer selection is minimal but good pitcher prices.
