This is our go-to Chinese take-out place. Sort of on the way home from work so when I dont have time to cook or have a craving for Chinese food, this is where I go on my way home from work. Our regular order includes: 1) seafood sizzling rice soup, 2) combination chow fun, 3) Xinjiang Lamb, 4) Moo Shi Pork/Broccoli Beef -- all good, esp. the lamb and chow fun. Weve tried many others on the menu and they are good although the spicy dumplings IMO are not worth it. Minus 1 star for 1) getting numerous orders wrong (e.g., forgot the wrapper for the Moo Shi, forgot the rice, got combination fried rice instead of combination chow fun) - though whenever they got something wrong, they readily credited us, no questions asked, 2) for no longer being able to order online, and 3) for sometimes taking longer to get an order ready then the time given so had to wait longer than expected.

The food was decent but not the best compared to the other Chinese restaurants in the Bay Area. BETTER Dishes: Sautéed Vermicelli with Spicy Minced Pork – stir fried minced pork with cellophane in chili bean sauce, mixed vegetables OK dishes: hot and sour soup (wasnt as impressive as the reviews described), shrimp fried rice, chow fun, kung pao chicken Service was pretty sub-par. The waitress seemed annoyed that we were not sure about what to order and kept coming back to our table and rushing us. We were dining at a reasonable dinner hour and there were others in the restaurant so Im not sure what the big rush was.

Absolute 5 star!! Incredible food, best service Ive seen in a SiChuan restaurant, clean environment, no wait, and a comfortable, well decorated environment. Came here with my family after a movie. GPS led us to the backdoor of the restaurant, which wasnt very appealing. Thankfully, the waitress politely led us to our seats just when my family was starting to have doubts. Food completely blew us away. The lamb dish was the best Ive had, just the right amount of cumin (not too much!). Vegetables were suprisingly packed with flavor. Very authentic.

There are a zillion Chinese restaurants in the Bay Area. This one might be our favorite based on a single dish: Xingjiang lamb (listed as cumin lamb in other restaurants). Somehow its just better here. We do like many of their other dishes as well, including their dry cooked string beans and cold noodles. But the lamb is the star. They have recently expanded so there are quite a few tables. Service is reasonably good in our experience though we have not been there when they are very busy. Parking in the area is all metered during the day.

High quality Sichuan food with better than average service and decor for a Chinese restaurant. The dry cooked shredded beef is fine, the dandanmian is excellent (without the typical heavy peanut sauce), the vinegar potatoes, dry cooked green beans, and pretty much every dish we have had is excellent. The only negative is that things vary in spiciness from visit to visit. I prefer very spicy food and sometimes get that while sometimes get only moderate spice. Its my go-to place in Redwood City.

Wow! This place is awesome & the $ really afordable! Too bad this place isnt located in SF where im from. The portions are just the right size, i highly recommend this place, plus friendly staff, & nice environment inside the restuarant, i really liked the flat screen tvs they have inside showing Natures slideshow pictures. Have to come back soon! Plus the food was steaming hot when they gave it to me!

I have been on the hunt for cold sesame sichuan noodles ever since I moved to California from NYC 25 years ago! I finally found them here. They make them with minced pork, shredded chicken or vegetarian if you prefer. They are delicious! The rest of the food is also very tasty and reasonably priced. Inside is nicer than it looks from the outside of the restaurant. Service could be better.

The shanghainese/chinese food here is legit. Heard plenty of customers speaking mandarin, so you know its for real. They nail the spicy. They have plenty of vegan/vegetarian options. If you like super spicy and/or authentic chinese food (not that take-out American chinese fast food nonsense), this place is definitely worth your time and money.

This is my number one favorite Chinese restaurant go to. The staff is so friendly and recognize me every time I go in, and know exactly how I like my dishes prepared. I feel very much at home at Crouching Tiger, Chinese comfort food at its finest! Dine in or take out, it always satisfies me on a night that I am too tired to cook for myself.

This fusion restaurant has some nice dishes, such as Magic Chicken (Deep Fried chicken pieces and peppers) and Dan dan noodles (Pork and gravy Noodles). The place gets crowded during the lunch hour so if you have a larger party you should call ahead to reserve a table and even place your order. The only ding is the service is hit or miss.

The vegetarian entrées are good. They are flavorful. I havent taken any pictures of them. They vegetarian entrées that I have eaten are above average on the very good side. The workplace orders from Crouching Tiger fur office lunch. The selections for office lunch have been very good. One of the better lunches the company order.

I have never dined there. Originally, I had mistakenly posted a review here intended for another restaurant. The owner contacted me, and informed me of this, with the utmost courtesy, even though my review was completely derogatory. All I will say is five stars for professionalism, and I hope to dine there soon.

Poor food taste and presentation. The chow fun was very oily and colorless, the Mongolian beef was just beef and white onion with lots if oil, the house special fish was over fried and dried. Typical Chinese service but not a point of complaint. The only good thing is decent steam rice and good Oolong tea.

I had high hopes for this place mostly due to the name. I love Tigers. The appetizer sampler was very good! But when it came down to the food I wasnt extremely impressed. It wasnt bad though. I am still on the hunt for a great chinese place.

Comparing to the many Sichuan restaurants that we have visited in the US, Crouching Tiger is an ordinary Sichuan restaurant, not obviously better than the other places. If you do not live close by, it may not be worth the driving time.

Fantastic place to go for lunch. The noodle dishes, like Sichuan cold noodles and dandan noodles, should not be looked over. For a larger meal to share, try the magic chili dry cooked chicken (also great in mock meat).

Large selection of dishes including vegetarian options from appetizers to desserts. The service is quick and efficient. The food is delicious. The ambience is nice enough but could use a little updating.

Great place for Chinese food near downtown Redwood City. There is a full bar and they also have a few kinds of draft beer. There are two flat TVs at the bar so you can also enjoy sports games here.
