While I love Limon in the city, this location didnt quite impress me. Im a huge fan of Limon and their food and Ive been to each of their locations in the city. Im always satisfied when I go. This time just didnt hold the same magic. The location in Burlingame is SO loud. Between high ceilings, concrete floors, and a lack of interior decor to muffle sounds, it was impossible to hear anything my boyfriend was saying, and he was sitting right next to me. The service also left much to be desired. Our server was not attentive to our needs and we had to ask for things several times before receiving them. The food was fine, comparable or slightly less good than what Ive had in the city. Unfortunately, with the noise and service issues, this meal was less satisfying than I had hoped, and I likely wont rush back.

Update, June 2017: visited today, and not sure what happened, but Peruvian favorites like chicharrón de pollo, pollipapas, and Chicha morada werent available. Not sure how a pollería (restaurant serving chicken)...can run out of chicken? Would advise calling in advance to see if you what you want is still available. Previous review: Had the opportunity to attend the soft opening today-- great food, great atmosphere, just like Limon in the City. One note of caution is that the lot behind the restaurant only takes quarters, and regretfully, the bar at Limón refuses to provide quarters. The city meters elsewhere appear to accept credit cards, but not that lot.

9/10/16. We arrived at 7 PM and no wait for a table for our 7PM reservation. A full house which made the noise level exceedingly high. Attentive waiter services and good food. Waiting for the second Pisco Sour for 15+ minutes was annoying. I was told that they ran out of bar glasses and were waiting for them to be cleaned. Really? At $12 per cocktail I believe an extra supply of glasses stocked and ready for use is in order. The noise level makes the ability to converse with others without shouting a real challenge so if you have come to eat and converse bring your megaphone or choose a quieter place.

We came during the first week of operation and the restaurant desperately needed some polish. We had a reservation for 7:30 pm, but tables werent turning fast enough so our seating was pushed back. Understandable. What was not acceptable was that the hostess was very inattentive and called us in twice to be seated before giving the table to someone else. Only after we expressed our frustration and began leaving the restaurant did a table miraculously open up. Honestly, the food was good and I wish them the best. We just didnt have a positive first experience.

The food wasnt very good, the empanadas are fried, very dry! The lomo saltado was to salty and when I mention that to the waitress she looked st me as if Ive never had it before and informed me "well... thats because it has soy sauce!" I told her that I was well aware of it! But just because it has soy sauce it doesnt mean that it has to be so salty! She walked away! The chicken had a good taste but also to dry. The drinks were good, so was the yuca and sweet potatoes. Overall, very disappointed!

The waiter was so rude to us. Yelled at me for telling him that our food was wrong and that they forgot our mac and cheese. Never go there because he just argued and constantly to me that all he was doing was "make a point". After telling him to call the manager he never did. When he forgot another item of our food the kitchen had closed so he had to go reopen the kitchen and cook the food since we had already been in the restaurant for 3 hours and gotten no food!

WoW, its the only thing that comes to mind, the food was very good, I preferred the veggie empanadas over the chicken (did not try beef), the Tuna tartar was a delicious surprise (you wont imagine how many restaurants come short on this simple dish). Overall all the food we had was very good, service was good, considering the volume of patrons eating at the restaurant. Will definitely comeback again and try their other dishes, I hope they do not disappoint.

Has been a welcome addition to Burlingame Ave.! They are known for their shall plates and the rotisserie chicken. Absolutely loved their octopus dish with the potatoes. The chicken is flavorful and comes with studios sides of which is recommend the yucca fries and the beans and rice. I love getting the mango lemonade, which is not always listed on the menu but can be asked for.

Food-mostly good. Service- still working the kinks out, so sometimes the food comes right away and other times it takes forever. Sometimes orders get mixed up. That said, the servers are friendly. Atmosphere is LOUD-this is not a place for a quiet dinner where you catch up with a friend or go on a date night. Good place for a group. Great drink options

Wonderful Peruvian rotisserie chicken and ceviche, as well as many other South American specialities. Not as fun a site as the one in the Mission (rather dull in architecture and it is in Mall of America Burlingame Ave), but far more convenient for those of us living on the Peninsula. The food and service, however, rise above its location.

Went for a late lunch on a weekend. Service wasnt great (asked two different wait staff for sauce, but it never came) after they drop the food off. Ceviche was delicious. Chicha Morada was a refreshing drink. Chicken was good; fries werent crispy; string beans were good. Mac and cheese was cooked well (al dente and not overly sauced).

Not bad at all. The place is small and noise could be an issue if you are trying to have a quiet conversation. The food is great, Its a little expensive but I wouldnt call it overprice. The steak and chicken were great and enough for one person. Restaurant was clean, and easy to find. Parking could be an issue sometimes.

I really want to like this place, but I wasnt a fan of the chicken or ceviche, the two things they should do best. Chicken was dry and had soggy skin. Ceviche was mostly liquid and extremely spicy. I did like the empanadas though. Very expensive for the type and quality of food. I hope I can upgrade my score next time

We just asked our server which dishes were the most popular and we ordered 4 entrees and 4 appetizers. Every single dish was delicious, fresh, interesting, and flavorful. Cant wait to come back! Only wish that the portions were a bit bigger, and entrees are pricey for what you get (About $16 a plate)

Food is yummy but service is spotty ...went for brunch with family... some dishes came out 10 minutes apart from others. Had to ask two different waiters for signature sauce..no one came. My second time here was disappointing.. not sure if i will return.

Great spot for a unique Peruvian dinner. Its often hard to find quality Peruvian food, Limon delivers. The rotisserie chicken is delicious, with a very well done huacatay sauce, which is hard to find. Great desserts, drinks and empanadas lend to a solid meal.

The rotisserie chicken is the flagship dish here, and its not bad. Good flavor but a bit dry. The fried potato is fantastic. If you sit outside beware of the blaring speakers. It is loud and make it very difficult to focus, let alone have a conversation.
