My husband, parents, and I stopped at Vedas for dinner on our way home from SFO. We were extremely disappointment with the service and food. First, our drink orders were delivered 25 minutes into the service. I asked for sugar for my iced tea, which was not given to me until my 3rd request. The worst part of our experience was my husband finding a DEAD BUG at the bottom of our rice. By then some of us had already scooped rice on our plate and began eating it. When I pointed it out to our waiter all he said was "F**k" and walked away with no apology or explanation. At the point, I happened to look toward the front of the restaurant and found the wait staff huddled around our waiter who was showing them the bug in our bow, the next thing I know they are starring down our table. It made me feel extremely uncomfortable and left a bad taste in my mouth. When the waiter came back with a fresh bowl of rice he softly stated "sorry" an again quickly walked away. He never offered refills on our drinks, nor did he ever check on us until he delivered our bill. Their customer service was terrible seeing as how they had 4 people on staff and only 2 tables with customers. When our bill came we were appalled to find that we were charged for the rice. To make matters worse, we never got an apology or acknowledgement from the manager for the dead bug in our food. We walked out extremely bothered by their lack of customer service and food. We will never go back and will most certainly advise our family and friends to do the same.

Update (09.12.2015): Weve been going to Vedas weekend buffet for nearly a year and were still impressed by their delicious food and amazing staff. Everyone, from the manager to the chef and servers, will bend over backwards to accommodate your needs/wishes, however reasonable or ridiculous. We love how Vedas customer base is mostly Indians, thus telling us that its food is pretty authentic. We look forward to their yummy, perfectly-seasoned curries each week. We hope Vedas will not water down their spices to appease the one/few patron(s). If youre looking for deliciously seasoned, Indian cuisine, Vedas is a definite hit. If youre frightened by a little spice, go elsewhere. ----- ------ ----- ------ ----- ---- ----- ------ ----- Original post: After trying numerous Indian restaurants in the peninsula, Im so impressed with Vedas. Their curries are flavorful and skillfully made by Indian chefs. Vedas is a small, nicely decorated, modern establishment run by friendly and attentive staffs. Their daily lunch buffets are fresh and varied. Beside their delicious curried chicken, lamb, and veggies, they have a nice spring mix with fresh fruit salad rather than the usual boring iceberg lettuce.

Got take out from here. Called ahead and requested a pickup time well in advance and they were happy to comply. The flavor of the food was pretty good, I would say there was too much ginger in both dishes I got (butter chicken and tikka masala), in fact there were pretty large chucks of ginger. Also, few reviews mention that the meat (chicken) is full of cartilage and bone and I would agree with those reviews. Im not usually particular about finding bone or cartilage in my meat, but this was on like every piece in the dish and was really put me off of the food. I wish they would spend a few extra cents per dish and get better "cuts" of chicken... I probably wont go back unless they change the chicken. Also, they dont make it clear that the dishes do not come with anything. You need to order rice or bread separately or else youll have nothing to eat the curry with....

Good Indian food with good service. Went over for dinner on a weekend night. The restaurant was 3/4 filled. We were seated quickly. Ordered a North Indian daal, tikka masala chicken, garlic naan and samosa. Everything tasted great. The three samosas were yummy, they had a sweet dark sauce which goes really well. The tikka masala curry was great, the chicken was nice, however, the taste did not quite soak through the chicken. The daal was a rather spicy for my liking, the taste was bland as compared to the tikka masala. Service was prompt. The staff regularly check in on us. One disappointing factors was regarding the Yelp check-in deal. "Get a free vegetarian appetizer when you check in." Unfortunately, the deal was only applicable on selected weekdays. Other than this, it was overall a nice enjoyable Indian meal.

Will not come back again. Food is ok , like typical Indian restaurant. If its prepared fresh then its good if not then it does not taste as good specially on Buffet. Anyway food is aside. I been coming here for while now , i can definitely tell now that i am not welcomed here. Both of these guys who works in front , what an attitude . I get the feeling that they are doing me a favor. No Welcome, No Thanks , No response back of me saying "Thanks " to them. I am definitely not coming and would not recommend to anyone. This place is not the only option for good food and service.

Vedas is a wonderful and welcome addition to the peninsula. It has become my go to restaurant in the peninsula when I crave for something Indian. Not only are their dishes authentic and gourmet but they also customize dishes per request and make dishes outside of the menu. They have Jhinga Moli on the menu and they altered it to Salmon Moli since I am fond of fish and Salmon in particular. Their biryani is awesome. Their buffet is good and you cant go wrong with this place. The staff is very helpful, friendly, attentive and accommodating. Service is great.

Giving one star as I Cannot give a zero.. Not a good place for team lunch and if you prefer freshly prepared food. @the Owner: Lots of areas to improve. First of all We came in a day when u served old food i guess. Overall more change for Team Lunches was required. May be you need to provide seperate tables for Big Groups. We had to squeeze into a small table that spoilt the fun.

This place has awesome home made Indian food with a nice chill ambiance. Honestly some of the best Ive ever had. They had the food out hot and fresh within 10 minutes of ordering and even gave me a complimentary beverage. If youre in the area and craving Indian def check it out!

Very bad food, staff were not friendly. Hardly had 11 items in buffet with bad taste. 15 usd is not worth it. I am a visitor here, I liked Pulaucharu better than this. Desert only had gajar ka halwa... THE review is only for the buffet, ala-carte might be good.

We had Hyderabadi Veg Dum Biriyani at this place and we loved it. They made it fresh in a traditional pot closed using a tandoori roti on the top. The taste was good and the serving size was big for its price. We took leftovers home and had it for the night :)

Ate there on a Tuesday night. Had the lamb and spinich curry. It was good, not a lot of lamb for the price though. Also, I found 2 pieces of bone/cartilage in the lamb. Rice is not included with the curry, that is extra. Service was great, though!
