Definitely below average., would not recommend it. Ambience is OK... the two TVs playing football definitely put me off. Food was not very good. Ordered chirashi and ikura. Both were poorly made, tho the chirashi presentation was decent. The ikura nori was not well formed around the rice and eggs. The chirashi fish was very poorly cut - the tuna has been more ripped than sliced, and the mackerel was more skin than any actual meat. Sushi rice had no vinegar, and was definitely old - dry and clumpy. Service was pleasant but poor; the two lads about obviously had never actually trained as servers (perhaps the owners teen sons?) Staff also overcharged me on credit slip tho not on bill. Likely an honest mistake, but definitely shows the lack of care and attention to detail present throughout my experience.

Prices are very reasonable or less than other restaurants in san mateo. The picture in this website is not updated, this picture is old from when the restaurant is a Thai restaurant. The place was remodeled, so looks nice and is clean. The sushi variety is great, i recommend the Golden State Roll, you will not find this anywhere else, well I havent. Is never to packed so the service is fast and the waiters are super nice. One of the great things about its service is that at the end of your meal, they always offer you ice cream on the house, venilla or green tea, is like a scoop. Taste like bryaers, natural. This please also delivers and you can order online!!!!! HIGHLY recommended

Average Sushi at a great price! There Bento Box is also good. Japanese food is usually on the expensive side. This is a great value for money restaurant as far as Japanese restaurants are concerned. So if you are a person who likes to have Japanese everyday this is your place. If you are looking for cheap lunching options - Try Mamas OR Jade Dragon nearby. If you are looking for great tasting Japanese food - Just visit DownTown San Mateo. Awesome restaurants! BUT PRICIER -- way pricier !

I was home craving some sushi but too tired to go out and eat at my regular sushi restaurant so I ordered from Daiki Sushi thought Ill give it a shot. The food was mediocre. The flavors very average, the rice ratio to the other ingredients was a little too much for my taste. There was nothing special or memorable in that meal. Very average sushi. Maybe eating fresh in the restaurant is better...

I have tried every sushi joint in the area, and daiki lands on top of the rest. Great sushi. The all you can eat is affordable and properly delicious. Keep in mind, the lunch and dinner menu for all you can eat is different, not a criticism, just a tip from a regular customer. By the way, the wait staff is stellar!

I love this place. We found it when we moved into the neighborhood and are frequent guests now. The fish is always fresh and the prices are reasonable. Sometimes the service can leave a little to be desired, but the quality of the sushi makes up for it.

// , They had fast service, and they do love their variety. They had, literally, more than 100 combinations. Not crowded at all, too. It had a nice, quiet feeling, to me, which made an environment for good conversation.

Decent sushi at a decent price. The place was pretty empty when we went for dinner during the week which made us a bit hesitant. The service is quick and friendly.

Great food, awesome all you can eat (brought to your table) with good selection. I would like to see Tom Katsu and chicken Katsu added the all you can eat menu.

From out of town and I love sushi. This was some of the best and most fresh tasting Ive ever had. Little hole in the wall place that we randomly ran into

Friendly service. The chef has a great sense of humor. And free small sake if you order a large sake. Try the Firebomb roll. Its the best in the west.

The food is good, but the atmosphere is a bit on the weak side. Friendly staff, quick service, reasonable midrange sushi prices.

The sushi is awesome. There is all you can eat, bento plates and individual items. All very good. Prices are comprable

Not the best or the cheapest sushi Ive ever had, but pretty good, and large portions for the prices.
