I was so excited to try Yamadas vegan ramen ... until I got there. The front desk staff was disorganized, but then once we were seated we found the wait staff was even worse. It took forever to get someone to take our order, then it took forever for the food to arrive (even though a group that sat down later than us got their food way before). Once it arrived my co-workers only thought it was so-so. But heres the real kicker: they were out of the vegan ramen, which was the entire reason I went there. I had to sit through lunch hungry, while my co-workers ate mediocre soup, all because I dragged them there for vegan ramen. Bottom line: unless youre feeling lucky and are desperate for vegan ramen, dont go here.

Portions were good and we didnt have to wait to be seated. We didnt like this ramen place. It took over 20 mins to get our ramen. The place was pretty empty, only 3 tables had guests. We didnt have any utensils when they dropped off our bowls of ramen. The flavor was okay, it tasted like it was reheated old soup. We even had that old film that was on top of the soup. Before our spoons can get to our soup, there was a half inch layer of oil/fat that made our food heavy and not enjoyable. For not being busy, it was a big let down compared to LA counterpart.

Super unfortunate. I was really looking forward to going here because the san francisco spot is so great. Like, the best ramen you can get. This place is 100 percent opposite food wise. The pork belly was inedible. It was straight up rubber. You can even see in the photo how the fat is tight and rubbery and wrinkly instead of nice and silky. I was able to take a bite or 2 but the rest I had to leave untouched after trying to bite them. Broth was good. Noodles were mediocre. But the meat was so low quality. I wont be back.

Im a Fan. My neighbor and good friend took me here last month and I came back with some other friends. We came pretty late in the night so alot of things were not available. But the ramen was excellent. They ran out of bamboo shoots they replaced it with an extra egg. The chicken karake was one of the best Ive had in a while. The service was great and the atmosphere was quiet and intimate.

I love finding ramen spots that dont have ludicrously long lines and wait times. This place had amazing ramen, and they practically put it in front of us before they took our menus away. I also thought the price was on the lower side (closer to 9 than 11) for area ramens. A+. The spicy tonkatsu was rich, fatty, and flavorful like you expect. The chicken karaage was pretty standard.

Not too bad chain ramen store from LA. Price is a little pricy at 10 to 14. Their needle is thin and thick noodle available upon request. Soup base isnt bad but still on the salty side. Overall this place serves nice ramen you would expect from a chain store but nothing too special. Good thing about this place is the spacious parking spaces behind the store and usually not too much wait.

Its great to have a good ramen on this side of town. The only downside from this place is inconsistency in their menu. Sometimes they dont have the items like gyoza, tuna salad, and hot tea even though you arrive right after their opening hour.

Got their standard tonkatsu and was solid. Recommend for cold days and make sure to order garlic on the side if youre into it, as well as extra noodles if youre feeling hungry

Words cannot describe how good the food is at Yamadaya. The Ramen, rice, and side dishes are superb. Whether you are local or in the area temporarily, this is an must-try!

Ramen seemed kind of pricy. I tried several dishes and they were also too salty. Service was good though and I really enjoyed the affordable and filling Chashu bowl.

Had the Yamadaya ramen. Food was delicious, but pork slices were a little thick. Karaage chicken was really good. Was quite empty on a Sunday night.

I had the Vegan Ramen and it was definitely the best Ive ever had. Flavorful, hearty, and surprisingly buttery. The survice was also excellent.

If this ramen doesnt shake up your happy and and have you giggling like a little kid... then you have something seriously broken inside

Great tonkatsu base, regular noodles are thin and straight, with a little chew. There is an option to order a thick noodle.

Very tasty ramen and huge karaage portions - even the side that you can add to the ramen is like 4-5 big pieces.

One of the best broth in the bay area, but reasonably priced. Fresh garlic adds nice flavor to tonkotsu broth.
