I read about this new ramen restaurant that just opened up at Oakridge mall so I wanted to try it. We went on a Sat night, but the line was too long so tried again on Sunday morning. They open at 11a so decided to go around 11:30. We saw a line, but decided to try it out anyway. Be sure to put your name on the list and dont just wait in line. We waited just over 1 hour to be seated (65 min), and then waited 29 min for our ramen to arrive. Appetizers come out quicker if youre just getting those. I ordered the black tonkotsu and my son ordered the Tokyo special tonkotsu (see pics). Both were really tasty and we finished it all (though the portion size isnt that big). Full, rich taste (read the broth simmers for over 10 hours) and nice sides added to the ramen. They need to work on some of retail issues, like the sun on the patio is very hot with the morning sun, and the efficiency of the wait staff, but overall, if you dont mind the long wait, its pretty good ramen. For 1.5 hours, I wouldnt go back, but under 40 min would be worth it.

Just another overhyped fushion restaurant that is overpriced. Food is nothing to rave about, broth was salty without adding condiments. We would rather have some "gourmet" instant noodles at home than a bowl of ramen here. Service was friendly & quick although 1 of the bowls on our order wasnt done correctly, not sure of server or kitchens fault. Order was taken promptly & food came quickly. It was a surprise short 5-min wait in that cramped waiting area. The place is small so with about 6 ppl in the waiting area would block the doors & path to restrooms. We were forced to wait inside because of the strong sewage odor outside, not a fault of restaurant. I wanted to give 1 star but was convinced to be generous so rounded up to 2 stars.

After we waited for 1.5 hours, we found out we would rather eat a bowl of instant noodle than eat a bowl of Jinya Ramen. Not sure where the hype came from, but the broth was too fatty. While the menu was creative, but we felt they were trying too hard. In the end, the ramen just didnt taste right. They also claimed to have used FUJI water, which have 99% free from impurities. How sustainable is it to use the water from across the world to cook a bowl of ramen? Well, we still have Orenchi in town. I guess well just wait for Orenchi instead.

I did not have the problem of waiting too long since I went on Monday for lunch. The service was good. I tried the Tonkatsu Black and was satisfied. It is true that the food does come out warm, not hot. The broth was rich and creamy and I almost finished it all. For me personally, the portion was a little bit small and the cost was reasonable. Would come here again with a little less of an appetite. Noodles are above average, but had better. The pork is a must in your meal if your diet includes it!

Not the best noodles, but I liked the broth a lot. My wife doesnt eat meat and so she really loved the fact they had a true vegetarian ramen option for her. And shes usually picky about the broth but she really liked this one. The broths are definitely very heavy though, you get full quickly on them. The wait and service can take a while but if you arent in a rush (and dont come during a very busy hour) you can get a relaxing and filling meal here.

Always busy but the food is pretty good. The broth is very thick from the meat juices so beware. I go for the creamy spicy vegan ramen because the broth is not thick. Then add pork. If you dont try the pork then youre missing out. 4 out 5 because theyre super busy and sometimes forget to come back.

After an hour wait, then more wait to order food; finally the ramen come out warm not hot, we have one kid meal and it’s served after the adults are done with their noodles. The green tea was warm. We are very very disappointed JINYA Ramen are overpriced and service is slow. I wont come back.

We arrived at 5:15is. Wait for two hours. Thought it wont be bad as a chain elsewhere. But not exactly. Ridiculously around, 8pm the whole place inside is half empty and still lining up outside. This is a joke?

My son was the one who suggested this place. It was a great experience. Sitting outside, even at a communal table, was fun, the food was delicious...highly recommended.

No service from host. Three employees were hanging around the vicinity without seating us for 10 minutes.
