Technically, this place is 3.5 stars, but they dont have halves, so I rounded down. Mean, you might say, but Ive had better Japanese food for cheaper prices, hence, the rounding down. I came here with my family for lunch and we literally made it inside ten minutes before they closed for lunch. My brother and dad ordered Bento boxes, which were $9 each and my mom ordered the Chicken Curry Don Buri, which was like $11. If I come to a Japanese restaurant, I wont order anything except for sushi, so I ordered two Holiday Rolls, just to make sure we finished off the gift card. The food itself, not bad. It was actually pretty good for a Japanese restaurant, considering Im extremely biased. The Sesame Chicken was tender and juicy with just the right amount of crunch and sauce. The Don Buri was extremely flavorful and was a rather decent sized portion. But the sushi, I was glad to see that the roll wasnt the size of a hot dog, but a decent sized sushi roll, however, I was slightly disappointed. When the menu says the roll is topped with avocado and maguro, you would expect to see maguro and avocado on each piece. No, there wasnt. Each piece was literally missing some component of the roll. Either the tuna, avocado, or fried shrimp was missing! Seriously? Come on! Who does that?! Eh, the food here isnt bad and the prices for non-sushi items was rather decent, but for sushi, I really dont want to spend $14 on a single roll.

No service. It was nice of the hostess to forewarn customers that the kitchen is backed up. Server dropped & dashed.. didnt ask if we needed anything before leaving.. just dropped off the food and dashed off.. we wanted teriyaki sauce & spicy mayo sauce but no one attended us as we just sucked it up and ate our sushi.. server did not check on refills.. i was lucky some other staff noticed and asked if i wanted a refill towards the end of the meal. 1 star for the hostess & 1 star for the kind guy who filled my tea cup. Will not be returning. 1st time there we had the same server & same service.. second time was no different. Food was mediocre. I used to work at a japanese restaurant as a lead server so i know sushi.. and i know service.

My friends and I attended the SacAnime convention this weekend and they decided to treat me for my birthday. Now I hate sushi and cant stand when restaurants smell like it. When we walked in though it didnt smell at all like fish and they have such a different variety of food you can eat. I ordered the combination plate which came with teriyaki chicken, sesame chicken, rice and a salad. My teriyaki chicken was a little on the fat side but my sesame chicken was delicious. I love the little platters they serve you on as well. Too cute. Our server was amazing. Super friendly and asked us what our costumes were from. We had a fantastic time and Ill definitely go again at the next convention. :)

I only recently started getting into Japanese food after I moved to Los Angeles and fell in love with it. After moving back to Sacramento, I wasnt sure if I could find a place I love as much as the places I found in LA. I was so wrong. My girlfriend and I went to Osaka on a whim after reading some reviews. The service was exceptional with the staff all being kind and attentive. The food was terrific and the Udon here is the ultimate comfort food. I think I might be hooked on Osaka and have been two times within a week already and I cant see myself stopping any time soon.

My wife and I love eating here. Food is great...service on the other hand can be a bit on the low side. Last time we visited the server only came out once after food was served....to give us our tab. I had to grab another server/bus boy to get a refill on our drinks. We were seated next to the kitchen entrance and every time I looked up for help it seemed like 3-4 of the servers / bus boys were just standing around talking or messing around on their phones. If the service was more on top of things Id give a 4-5 stars. But right now they dont seem to care.

Osaka Sushi Japanese Restaurant was delicious. I tried the dinner omakase. I also had the popcorn chicken. Some yellow tail and uni a ca carte. everything was so fresh and tasty the uni had 0 fishiness to it and was just so good. To finish off my meal I had hand rolls spicy tuna and salmon skin! Everything was delicious and impressed me. This place just opened so I definitely recommend giving this place a shot. Service is on point and the waitress was really kind. Ill definitely be back!!

Really good Sesame Chicken that is flavorful, moist, and still has crunchy breading. The restaurant is clean and the staff are very attentive. There is a lot of variety to the menu as well. Dont forget to look at the little section with the sake cocktails. It is a bit pricey for what you get, but there are specials on certain days. Also, not all the food is exceptional, but I recommend the sesame chicken and the salad because the house dressing is great.

great quality food with even better taste. ive been going here for over a decade. the green tea tempura ice cream is delicious and the Osaka maki is great too. one of my favorite things to eat in life and what I always recommend and convert people to is the oishii house ramen they serve here. ive yet to have better ramen anywhere. a total must have in my book. good prices and very friendly staff. I went here with my mother a year ago, and I wasnt dressed in formal attire. I was dressed in my gym clothes. I was seated by a young guy and he didnt introduce himself. There was a group of formal attire looking people and was seated after us. He served them before he did us, when we tried to wave him to tell him we were ready he went to help the party who were still deciding what they wanted, so me and my mom of course did not tip him.

I love this place ive been going for about 2yrs consistently they are always fresh!!! Just had a dream about their sushi on my way to get some more now. Oh and by the way every since Ive ate here there is no other place that can satisfy me. They set the bar pretty high.

For lunch, I often go with a friend and we split the usual special of buy two rolls and get the third free. You wont go back to work hungry or unhappy. Have not had a roll I did not like.
