I have been on a mission to find the best BBQ in town (actually Silicon Valley) and my quest is at an end. Blue Rock BBQ is small but stylish place that focuses on good food rather than kitschy decor, smothered flavorless food, etc. My first introduction to the food was babyback ribs, potato salad, bbq baked beans, macaroni cheese and pecan pie. All was very good...the potato salad was like my grandmother made (and that is a very good sign), the bbq baked beans were on the sweet side (like Bushs backed beans) which I like, the marcaroni and cheese was my least favorite side dish but was still tasty (it deviates a bit by not using elbow macaroni) and the pecan pie was very, very tasty, but could have used more pecans. Of course the babyback ribs was simply outstanding...the dry rubbed ribs were cooked to perfection with great flavor, nicely cut and generous meat...minimal amount of bbq sauce was used so you can add to your own taste (I hate ribs smoothered in sauce because it seems they are hiding something, this is not the case here). I will go back again and again just for these ribs (and to try the cuban sandwich, pulled pork, chicken, sides, deserts, etc.). I also have to say the service was very, very quick, and remarkably friendly with a neighborhood restaurant feel. The founder and owner Owen Jobson was very, very personable with a politeness sometimes missing in the fervor of Silicon Valley and especially in the restaurant business. Two YUMS up!

Small business, huge flavor! Ive tried almost everything on their menu. Its ALL good! My personal favorite is the pulled pork sandwich with mac n cheese. I usually get the smaller childs size sandwich. Its plenty for me. The bun is buttery and toasted to a nice crisp/crunch on the inside. The pork is moist and plentiful. The mac n cheese is homemade with big rigatoni noodles. Best part is the BBQ sauce! Cant get enough of it. They have it bottled and available for sale. Probably because people were stealing the big squeeze bottles out of the dining room to take home. Its just that good. Owned and operated by a husband and wife that live across the street from my office. THIS is the real deal. A small business doing things right! Has the look and feel of a larger operation with the attention to detail and deliciousness of a small place. Its a rock solid go to when Im hungry. #ReviewLocal

This place was delicious. Not very often I rate a BBQ place because most are not worth the effort but this place deserves credit. The sauce was great and if the BBQ sauce is on hit then most likely everything they put it on would hit. Sides were good but those hush puppies though. Those were some hitters. The owner was really nice and even walked outside to say bye to us. I had the 1/2 checked; moist and good flavor. Baby back; a most but didnt fall off the bone, flavor was good. Mac and cheese a hit, coleslaw good, the corn bread was a bit sweet so if you want a dessert thats the one. All in all I would definitely go back.

Ive tried most barbecue restaurants in the Bay Area. Ive been to the annual "Best" barbecue cook-offs in Nevada. But Ive never tasted a barbecue sauce this side of California or beyond -- better than Blue Rocks. It is simply amazing. Thank goodness they sell it a la carte (Do it. Just do it.). Their ribs are great -- could be juicier -- coming from a barbecue snob family, but their pulled pork sandwiches go to phenomenal with extra squeezins of my favorite barbecue sauce in the world. The coleslaw is fresh and crisp with a great clean flavor. And their french fries? Fresh-cut -- and fabulous!

Blue Rock was amazing as our wedding caterer!!! Everyone commented on the food, it was absolutely delicious!!! As the bride I did not have anything to worry about, Marie completely took care of us every step of the way, she was very easy to contact and communicate with and thought of everything I completely forgot about. She obviously has excellent experience catering and really covers all the bases, I was totally confident handing everything over to her. Marie is the absolute sweetest and made me even more excited every time I spoke to her!

Hidden gem! Their pulled pork is delicious. Im not a fan of the beans or mac and cheese but I would encourage you to try them for yourself. I pick up a pound of pork...often. *update* Its hard to say this because I loved this spot but facts must be shared man. Their quality has fallen...a lot! My last two pounds of pulled pork have been subpar. Very pink pork equals unsafe to eat. It saddens me to say. Also the price keeps going up, to receive less quality...doesnt make sense. What happened?!? Minuses 2 stars.

I honestly come to this place for their mac & cheese with the side of corn bread. Their mac & cheese is homemade with rigatoni pasta and real cheese, which is hard to find that kind of mac & cheese anywhere else because most places Ive been to have that Krafts type. Their corn bread is lightly toasted on the outside and has a good amount of moisture inside. The kids meal combo gets me fulfilled enough to make me feel full without feeling overwhelmed.

I loved this place I just ate there with my family and may I say the service was great the upfront lady where I placed my order was so friendly, made me feel welcomed, we sat down and waited patiently for our food and in less than 10 minutes we were eating delicious food. The man who came out to bring our food was in such a great mood he offered if we needed anything else was so on top of everything. Overall I would definitely recommend this place.

This is a family-owned place that has very kind staff. I come here for lunch every now and then with my grandparents-- its very consistent and tasty. I think I may have only ever had minor complaints about the mac and cheese seeming a little... soggy? That could simply be a matter of the container its kept in or how they keep it warm while they wait for someone to purchase it. Either way, I highly recommend the pulled pork!

The great ones always do it for the love of the game, and you can tell the owner of this place opened it because he loves his BBQ. The man is there whenever I go, he knows his BBQ and loves to chat you up about it. The food is pure foodie quality, excellent meat, and the prices are slightly sub-bbq standard. You can see the care that they put into all the details. Dont miss.

Today was our first at Blue Rock BBQ. We were very impressed with food and service. The owner was extremely humble and very personable like the rest of his staff. The Cuban sandwich didnt disappoint and the full rack of ribs were juicy. The food was phenomenal and we will definitely be back. Blue Rock BBQ definitely are doing all he right things.

I liked their chicken and ribs, i wish they had more seasoning, but otherwise its a good barbeque. There are a lot of choices on the menu. My friend ordered sausage and did not like it. People who work here could use some training at customer service. It feels like they are doing you a favor by just being there. Very ignorant and not friendly.
