Sad Experience Starting out... Ive been frequenting this Restaurant for over 10 years and never had a bad experience until last night.. The food is good, but in the pursuit of efficiency, they have sacrificed a key rule in the Restaurant business. "Courtesy to customers". - Yes, Friday night is a busy night, but nothing excuses one from being courteous to your customers. Recent policy changes have dictated that everyone in a party must be present before seating. If not, you go sit in a small corner and are not even allowed to stand in the lobby. I witnessed another customer get totally ignored and her presence not even acknowledged. My treatment was even worse, as I was insulted. And this is for a loyal customer of 10 years, who has spent thousands of dollars there over that time. We have had many family events at this restaurant and quite often have introduced new people to the place. In fact, I had invited some people to join us there. When my guests arrived, we left to go to another restaurant down the street, where we spent well over $150 for dinner and drinks for 4. BTW: Service was wonderful at that place. So, I for one will stop introducing people to this place and personally will NEVER go to this place again. FInally, I just wonder if the owner ever acknowledged that poor woman waiting in the lobby to get in.

Top !

Mom and pop restaurant where owners greet you with welcoming smiles. Youre then quickly told to get in line to compose your own combo to be stir-fried on a big, round grill. Theres a large selection of fresh veggies and cooked pasta to add to your meal creation. Weve never been here for lunch, but their dinner meat choices are: chicken, pork, beef, and lamb. Theres tofu for vegetarians (inform one of the owners or cooks so theyll clean off the grill before cooking your order). If you want more food, there are fried chicken-nuggets, spring rolls, fried rice, and chicken soup side dishes. They also added Korean chicken and beef dishes that are full of kick. We usually go on Saturday nights after their dinner rush, so the lines to gather your raw food items arent too long.

Visiting here a few times, you can get to recognize everyone that works here (and they get to recognize you!). When you enter, one of the waitstaff comes over to seat you. They take your drink order and tell you to go crazy at the buffet. The food is awesome, the meat and veggies are always fresh, and the place is always clean and comfortable. The cooks are usually quiet, but thats to be expected as the place is usually busy. Even with a line stretching all the way down the buffer, though, I never waited more than five minutes for my food to be cooked. Its a little family own shop that does it right. Ive left $20 tips before, just because they make the experience so great, and the food is the best Ive had at a buffet style place.

The March 16 reviewer doesnt seem to understand that a Mongolian BBQ and an American buffet are not the same kind of restaurant. You might as well criticize a Chinese restaurant for not having tacos and burriitos. El Camino Mongolian BBQ is an excellent Mongolian BBQ with exactly the kind of selection you would expect for this kind of restaurant, a very friendly staff and prices that are comfortably with the range for a MONGOLIAN BBQ. These kinds of restaurants are fairly rare in the Bay Area so perhaps thats why the previous reviewer was confused, but this one is an excellent example of this kind of food and well worth the visit.

After having read these old reviews, my wife and I decided to catch the hype. Im sure the new owner is nice and all, but the buffet cost too much and we got too little. All-u-can eat buffet should have fresh meat, not refrigerated dried sliced meat. Not too many selections, just one noodle and rice dish. No fruits and soup. I recommend everyone go to Newark Buffet in Newark. The cost is $8 as opposed to $9 at Mongolian, the Newark has big open resturant space, plus 90 percent more fresh food, including ice cream, fresh vegetables and seafood. Ask me if I would go back to Mongolian, I say no.

This is the BEST Mongolian BBQ you will find in Silicon Valley. Dont let the long lines scare you, because the lines move quickly, and by the time your plate is ready, you will be seated. They have a large selection of veggies to choose from, and lunchtime meats include pork, beef &chicken. Lamb is added at dinner. If you dont want to wait during the lunch hour,go early, 11:00,or wait till 1:00. Be sure to add pineapple to your selections, and it will impart a tad bit of sweetness to your dish. There are also sides, like egg rolls & fried chicken which are included in the price.

Great fresh ingredients cooked in front of your eyes. This AYCE Mongolian BBQ has the standard meats (chicken, pork, lamb, & beef), an okay selection of veggies, but a great selection of sauces & oils which when carefully mixed will make your dish come alive. Skilled fast cooks to move the line along. They also have a small buffet bar of already prepared cooked foods, rice, and soup. Reasonable prices and they keep it clean (even with restaurant goers who make a mess at the raw foods bar). Ill be back. Spent about $17 person for dinner including tip.

The service is proactive + helpfully accommodates large groups. It is an all-you-can-eat location, and yet still provides options for side dishes such as spring rolls. It is the standard Mongolian Grill set up where you put the items that you want into two separate bowls, for all the veggies and one for the meat. The food taste good as long as you make it right! And if you have any questions you can always ask the representatives there. It is appropriately priced for the type of food and quantity offers.

As soon as one walks into this BBQ it is a pleasure to arrive. The staff is very curtious and efficient with their time and yours during the setup. Despite their best efforts for organization, I was very disappointed with the amount of time needed to get through the huge crowd; although this is a clear sign of their success. During the lunch hour the BBQ had one of the two grills turned on and it took me 40 minutes from standing in line to eating start eating my food. That is outrageous.

Loved the place. Very modern decor, simple and clean looking. There is plenty of parking in the back and you can enter from there also. The menu is not very large, but it has all the main dishes. We had the street corn, super yummy. I also ordered the Enchilada and Tamale Plate and 2 tacos, a Cochinita Pilbil and Al Pastor plus two Margaritas. Everything was delicious. I loved the enchiladas and the tamale was very moist. I have to come back to try other stuff.
