What can I say? This is a San Francisco institution that tantalizes the city with creamy, unique flavors often of the Asian persuasion. I stopped by after a long time because, lets face it, this place is out in the fog belt netherlands (and I live on the edge of it, too!). The great weather today and my date with a bowl of chicken pho up the road on Noriega reminded me to take a visit. The flavors have expanded since Ive last come to this bright airy space. My new discovery is the Goji Ginger--a fantastic ginger base with plump, soft goji berries throughout. The place was slammed with parents and rowdy children, but what do you expect for a sunny Sunday and flavors like Star Wars and Bumpy Freeway? The roulette wheel offers something for those that cannot decide. A single scoop is a mere $2.95. This is cheaper than Marco Polo, but the texture is more of an airy ice cream.

A great place to get ice cream. Pretty reasonably priced for the city. Left in a nice neighborhood and makes sense why it has been open for so long. Walking in you are greeted with three options. A basket of numbers where you can pick three flavors and decide where from there. The second option is spinning the wheel, and you get what flavor you get. Third option just the simply old-fashioned way where you pick your flavors. With the selection, you can go as simple as cookies and cream ice cream to the end of the spectrum with gas leak Durian fruit. -Atmosphere 5/5 - Great place in the neighborhood that it is in -Service 5/5 - Staff is friendly -Quality 5/5 - Great tasting ice cream made in house -Price 4/5 - $3 for one scoop, $5 for two scoops I would give this place a whopping score of 5/5. Tip: Can get to sample the flavors before getting them.

How many ice cream shops can you name that has a spinning wheel of flavors? I cant think of any place other than at Polly Anns. They have a giant wheel with all their flavors listed! And theres a "free scoop" on the wheel too. I got the Jasmine Tea flavor and omggggg, seriously the best thing ever. I looveeeee it here. My friend got the normal green tea flavor and its absolutely not the same whatsoever. You can tell the difference! Its so good, we got a pint for home and finished it within two weeks haha Ill be back for the Jasmine tea! But, I will definitely try the other flavors too. Theres an abundance of em!

Polly Ann gets six stars, come on google places, where is that bonus ticket? Polly Ann is my FAVORITE ice cream place and I cant believe everyone in San Francisco doesnt flock here. Its fun to order a huge diving scoop of green tea ice cream when its cold, freezing, warm or really hot... theres no bad weather day for Polly Ann Ice Cream. Theres that fun wheel, I think its if you cant decide or something and you can let fate run its course on a wheel. The taste tests are abundant and worth it to try to figure out the next love of your life. :-)

Its not your average ice cream shop. Were not talking 31 boring flavors, rather 48 brilliant ideas. Yep, were talking real ice cream that goes way beyond chocolate chip mint. Theres everything from sesame to red bean to lychee. Its not all off the wall flavors, but even the most basic flavors come with a nice twist. Its all good, you just need to go. And if youre going complain its too cold and foggy for ice cream, every night in the Sunset is cold and foggy. Besides, does the ice cream taste any different when its warm out? Hell no!

This cute shop has a lot of great flavors! I picked out a Star Wars themed combo, and I got a free scoop with a check-in through Foursquare. It ended up being too much for me (Im getting old!) but it was delicious. There are lots of flavors from durian to good ole vanilla, and their themed combos are a good way to try them. I cant eat a lot of sweets anymore, so I find that the junior scoop has the right amount of ice cream I want, and its about $3. They also sell milkshakes, sundaes, and pints.

Polly Ann has ceded the originality award to Humphry Slocombe, but retains the longevity award. The establishment, its bubble gum and vegetable ice creams have been here since the Sunset District arose from the dunes. Did you know, if you spin the wheel you might get a free one without having to be a dog? BTW, if you cant stand ice cream in the fog, you might find Polly Ann sold at the 99 Ranch (must try for that other 1 percent) supermarket

Polly Ann…..oh it’s so hard to choose every time I am at Polly Ann. There are just so many classic flavors, and lots Asian flavors to choose from! Love love love their black sesame, so creamy and tasted like real sesame!! Tried the taro flavor too and was delicious. Since I always have a hard time deciding which flavors to get…will have to one day let their wheel of fortune decide for me :)

Green tea ice cream. They have one of the best green tea ice and asian flavored ice creams in the city!! The green tea, lychee, and red bean flavors are pretty popular. Their ice creams are soft and creamy and they have a large board of different flavors to pick from. If youre feeling indecisive, there is a "spin the wheel" that picks a flavor for you!

Good ice cream and not crazy busy... I wouldnt come out of my way to come back to this place since it didnt stand out. Its just your basic/avg ice cream spot. However, they do have a giant pinwheel to choose an ice cream for you if you cant decide and are feeling adventurous.

Unfortunately, Im not a fan of their ice cream. Its too artificial for me. I sampled about 4 different flavors (green tea, lychee, black sesame, and red bean) here and I wasnt happy with any of them. = There are a lot of flavors, but just none to my liking.

Polly Ann has so many interesting flavors that I had difficulty choosing just one. Lucky for me, they have a wheel-of-fortune-type wheel that helped narrow the choices. I got the lychee flavored one which has actual fruit pieces in it. Yum!

Polly Anns is a place in my neighborhood Ive only recently discovered, and Ive already been there at least once a week. They serve you huge scoops of creatively named ice creams and sorbets, and everything is delicious.

Excellent local ice cream parlor serving dozens of flavors, including a host of Asian-inspired choices. If you cant decide, spin plus a Wheel of Chance and let fate pick your flavor. A must visit in the Outer Sunset.

Such a great selection of flavors, especially Asian flavors such as lychee, red bean, and macapuno. You can spin the wheel if youre feeling daring and let it decide one of the 40 or more flavors for you.

The ice cream is delicious and there are so many selections. They have a huge wheel they spin every day and if it lands on free, ice cream is free for the day. It is pretty affordable also.
