BACON BACON BACON!!! Their bacon is incredible, it is cooked in a specific way with some type of sauce and it is almost like a hybrid between bacon and jerky. I would come here just for the bacon alone. That being said, the other items on the menu are also well prepared. You cant go wrong with anything on the menu, it is all delicious. I was a little surprised to be served a salad with breakfast, but between the bacon, fried potatoes, and the rich eggs, the salad was a warm welcome to top off the meal. I prefer this restaurant during the week as opposed to their weekend brunch because I like the menu selection a little more, it is not as busy, and it is cheaper. The first time I went there, I made the "mistake" of getting one of their pastries as an appetizer because the portions sounded relatively small. Dont get me wrong, the chocolate croissant was absolutely delicious, but it was definitely unnecessary before the meal that would follow. I usually go for the eggs, potatoes, bacon, and greens (basic breakfast) which I have never been disappointed with. However, I went there on a Sunday and I was sad to find that this was not offered on their menu that day and they were unable to make exceptions. Also, the bacon was slightly less flavorful than the times I went there during the week. It is not the cheapest place to get breakfast, but you feel like you are getting quality ingredients. The chefs definitely know what they are doing in the back of the house. The service is fairly slow and the restaurant is always busy, so dont go if you are starving or are just looking for a quick bite to eat. Plan to spend two hours if you go mid-morning any day of the week. This place is very hipster, which is expected for being in the Mission. The art is very unique and interesting. I never would think to decorate a restaurant with pictures of sculptures of metal and industrial style elements, but it seems to work well with the vibe. The seating is very friendly and SHOULD encourage people to interact with the people sitting within 6 inches of you. However, this is a failed attempt because the culture of the area doesnt really go with this style of seating. Most people keep to themselves and their own group and do not interact with the people sitting in close proximity. I find this strange to be sitting so close to someone yet, they would not say one word to you. Other restaurants Ive been to with this style of seating, I usually end up making new acquaintances and having interesting conversations. This doesnt really happen here, so usually it just amounts to sitting uncomfortably close to a stranger with very little to no interaction except for maybe a "sorry" or "excuse me" when bumping elbows.

I think MBC beats Zazie as my favorite brunch place in SF. Yes, the may be long, but there is so much to do and explore in the Mission that time will go by really quickly. Came to MBC (found parking less than one block away - score!) around 12:30pm on a Sunday afternoon. Saw this massive line, and a waiting list that spans over two pages. Committed, my cousin and I put our names down. Knowing that the wait would most likely be more than an hour, we ventured off to Mission. We walked through the sketchy 16th Street area and continued to walked down... until I finally realized that Anthonys Cookies was actually nearby. We then made a pit stop there to enjoy some delicious cookies before our brunch. After our snack, we trekked our way back to MBC, not knowing how far weve walked already. Got back to MBC around 1:30-2ish and saw that the line kind of died down. We were 4 tables away. Grabbed a menu to decided what we wanted to order, and within 15 minutes, our table was ready! We got these seats in front of the window facing the streets, so we were people watching mostly... not bad for a leisurely Sunday afternoon. Our meal came out slowly, and probably didnt start eating until maybe 2:30? I forget. Time flew by. Start off with a "HUGE" mimosa, handed to you in a large wine glass. I got the pomegranate orange, and it was delicious! I thought it was fairly strong.. definitely enough to get me more than tipsy. I ordered the Mushroom and Spinach Benedict -- MUST ORDER! What made it so heavenly was the truffle sauce that made it so savory and rich. It wasnt too overpowering that all you taste was the truffle, but enough to make you want more and more. This dish comes with two benedicts, so you can share with your buddy and try other things! The fried potatoes that accompany the dish were amazing as well. They are not baked like most placed, but simply flash fried. Light and crunchy! YUM. Also ordered a side of French Toast. It was light and airy, as if I were eating a piece of cloud. It was good, but not sure if I would order it again. I think the benedict will be my go-to item next time I come back. My cousin ordered the Shrimp and Grits. The shrimps were fresh and gigantic. They definitely dont skimp out on the portions. It was simple, yet flavorful. The grits is not your ordinary grits. It is pan fried, so it has this crusty shell that holds it together. The sauce that comes with it has a bit of a kick to it, which I enjoyed. Overall, LOVED MBC and would definitely come back to see what else they have to offer! But Ill probably end up getting my benedict again. I was angry at my stomach because I was full after eating just one benedict. UGH!

Came here for 5 days straight (Mon-Fri), just cause, for sit-in breakfast. All of the dishes that I had are great: - Mushroom Benedict (prefer this over the Classic) - The Scramble; nice, rich and creamy, not runny yet not too solid. - Duck confit hash; decent. Either ask for a spoon or a warm english muffin to get all of the tasty juices left over on the deep plate. - MBC (Mission Beach Cafe) Huevos, you need to get this with the braised pork (add $3), I cant stress this enough. This is my favorite dish. Pork is nice and tender, very flavorful. - Side of Bacon; their bacon might not be for every one. It is caramelized so it will be sweet, maybe too much for some, you can find some smokiness to it. Serves 2 people. - Single piece of their french toast (specifically ask, since it isnt listed on their menu, plus cheaper) can serve 2-3 people, this is also a MUST to try out. Maybe even qualifies as dessert :) ## This place can get incredibly busy due to its popularity, so there might be times when the servers might not notice you because they are running around. They are very polite and fun people though. ## I live nearby and the weekends can be tough from what I have seen, there are hordes of people waiting to be seated, they have a wait list and benches to sit located on the sidewalk. Space inside might be cramped for some. But very tolerable. ## They have a bar area with stool seating (stools have backrests) looking out towards the street on Guerrero (nothing to write home about), you might be sitting elbow to elbow with someone else if you are a bigger/taller person. The dishes served are more than enough to have a full and happy belly.

I was REALLY craving a nice egg benedict. So much so that I took a lyft 2 miles away to get to this place even though there were plenty of restaurants closer to me in proximity. I was however disappointed. 1st: The wait on a Saturday morning isnt as bad as I thought. Its about a 10-15 min wait and you place your name on a list and wait to be called. Its pretty simple and they even have a couple of benches outside to sit on while you wait. It went by pretty fast. 2nd: The inside is quite cozy. Isnt a very large restaurant but the service is pretty quick so they do have a decent turn around. 3rd: Price is super affordable. The drinks (mimosas) were actually the same price of my meal. I paid about 14.50 for my crab benedict. Now on to the meal and my disappointment. I ordered the Crab Benedict with avocado, hollandaise, and potatoes (it also had shrimp). When I got my Benedict and sliced open the egg it was OVERCOOKED. I mean it was a boiled egg. I told my waitress to please correct the dish and she was a bit confused thinking a egg benedict came with a boiled egg. No biggie. They redid my meal but this time the dish was super cold. I didnt want to complain yet again and was super hungry so decided to just eat the meal. Besides it being cold and at first having a boiled egg, the meal was decent. The potatoes were amazing and I had some of my friends truffle fries and they were spectacular. Also service was a bit off. We had some trouble with the bill and it was a complete hassle trying to pay the bill.
