The food is hands down one of the best tasting Indian food Ive had in Bay Area. Lot of Indian restaurants in Bay Area are scared of using spices because of the audience, but dum achieves this nice balance where anyone can enjoy the true Indian soul food. The flavors were amazing!! And as an Indian Ive had these items in India, what dum served did hit the spots. We went during sf restaurant week but ordered al a carte, as we wanted to try as many items as we can between the 4 of us. There was a strong consensus among us that food was no doubt delicious, and we all agreed on the balance of favors, just well done. The place is trendy and service is always with a smile. Chef does take his time, but that little wait is well worth it. Its more of experience rather than simple chow down session. If youve been let down by tons of typical Indian restaurants in the Bay Area, then do try Dum. They also have truck in the city

Great for 2 people, or for larger parties as well! I had booked Dum for a team dinner and was worried because our office catering ended up serving us Indian food for lunch that day but Dums food is so elevated and not your typical chicken tikka masala place that it ended up working out great! The chaats are wonderful to start off and I cannot say enough great things about the Lamb scotch egg (perfectly runny yolk!) and the Tandoori Fried Chicken (SO good and SO big)! Delicious! We will be back!

Had the samosa chaat, pork Kati roll, veg paratha and chicken skewers. All were great but the Kati roll was my favourite. Service was great, the chef also gave us a free taster of the dahi puri and was really friendly. That plus 2 beers and the bill came to $40 which I felt was very reasonable. We will be back

A lively place for Indian food with a contemporary twist! Loved their happy-hour snacks especially the keema-pav burger. The Parathas are nice and crispy! The portions are decent but I would appreciate larger ones. Nevertheless, a great spot to hangout and have some delicious food!

Just had an amazing New Years lunch here! Crispy lentil chat with sprouts and yogurt was an innovative version of Dahi Vada, Rack of Lamb cooked two ways was very tasty! Paneer Kofta with Kael and Quinoa combined the best of California food with the Indian Soul

Recently opened, i had "byriani" that was fresh, hot and very savory with some sort of bean-based side dish. Notably good spices. Costs just a little more than a neighborhood burrito.

The food was ok, the service was not good, the portions were small and very over priced I will never return. Btw I was at their truck in Menlo Park.

A world class chef for neighborhood restaurant prices. Best biryani in the city. Ive driven an hour each way just to get.

Overly priced and not that tasty. I got the samosa Chaat and it was very bland. Expected a lot more out of their dishes.

Not good. I guess "soul food"means limited menu of basically just appetizers?
