Ok - I came here because of all of the good reviews. I have never written a bad review before: this will be my first. I came here for a light breakfast and coffee. I ordered a couple scrambled eggs and sourdough toast. Not complicated. What I go was a couple of eggs -- not scrambled -- and warm bread. Ok -- they cook their eggs in the microwave. I do that at home too, but I actually MIX the eggs, scrambling the yokes into the whites. All they did was puncture the yokes and give them a couple turns. The result was cooked egg white with some soft yoke folded through ... it looked terrible. Again, the toast came BARELY WARM -- not toasted at all. As politely as I could, I asked if they could give me toasted toast ... and maybe scramble my eggs... commenting that I really hated to waste the food. They were very accommodating and remade my breakfast... What did I get?! Essentially the SAME THING -- although the eggs were marginally more mixed (still mostly while and yellow: definately NOT scrambled) and toast that was toasted on ONE SIDE -- and still soft on the other side!! How hard it this? It takes minimal effort to spin a fork in a bowl of eggs... How hard it is to make TOAST?!!? I will try to post the picture of my redone breakfast, which was still inedible even though I tried. On top of this, the tables were dirty as well as the seats. I had to brush crumbs from both to sit down. Terrible terrible. All I can say was that the folks there were friendly enough.

If you like good coffee, good food and an atmosphere that is second to none, than this is a place you will love. I often like to go to coffee houses to research and blog, and this is probably one of the most desired places to go. It is seldom crowded, there are ample quaint spaces to settle into and plug into if you bring a laptop or iPad. Ive been into many of the San Diego coffee house establishments, and there are only a few that provide me with a sense of comfort, ease in finding a desirable place to sit, read and study, and a place to give good service as well. The site of this simple framed historic Jennings house built in 1886 does wonders to those who love charm. Plenty of room inside and out, this two story house has everything to accommodate anyone from the student to a social gathering of friends.

I understand there is new ownership. You are really hurting yourself with employing the Asian lady in the mornings. I have tried for months and months to be warm and friendly to her. She has no social skills and gives off a consistent rude vibe. Yesterday, I waited in line while she worked to prepare a breakfast alone. All I wanted was a partial refill of house coffee. It was just too easy (and remember, Im a regular). As the line grew behind me to 5 she finally completed the meal and delivered it, then responded to my request by ringing up a $2 charge for my partial refill request. I have had refills before and others have gladly obliged with no extra charge. Others, $1. Its never consistent. I just looked at her dumbfounded and put my cup down and walked away.

Occupying the Jennings House (San Diego Historical Landmark # 55), Point Lomas Living Room is one of my favorite places to grab some coffee, do some reading, or work on my laptop. Like other Living Room locations, the seating comprised of a wide mix of stuffed chairs, vintage tables, and comfy couches. Its usually quieter than most coffee houses, though at times it can be hard to find a table as its a popular location for studying. Parking is usually not a problem; in addition to the small gravel lot behind the store, there is usually ample street parking in the surrounding blocks. The counter staff Ive encountered have always been friendly and helpful. Id be here all the time if I lived in this neighborhood.

This is just the greatest place. I absolutely love to eat here. Its Unique and quaint and cozy and comfortable. Their food is delicious their pastries are out of this world. I had a grilled veggie sandwich with some artichoke and whatever condiment sauce they put on it and it was just absolutely one of the best sandwiches Ive ever had ....it was amazing. Always the people that wait on you are very friendly and today it happened to be a wonderful cheerful sweet Asian lady Pia. You need to try this place out... it is the best

Very quaint and enjoyable. Located not from the air port, so its great for someone looking for a wholesome breakfast. The food was very fresh and well cooked made to order. There is only 2 people working here from what I saw and they were both very kind just in a hurry. The wait for food isnt very long even with a small staff. Parking is around back and there is outside seating as well. Highly recommend for a well balanced breakfast or brunch.

Really cool atmosphere. Quite literally a living room with an eclectic arrangement of furniture; great for sipping coffee while reading, studying, etc. Decent selection on the menu for breakfast...it was nice to see something other than the typical egg derived breakfast fare (e.g. salmon plate w/ capers, cream cheese, etc on a bagel). Cappuccino didnt blow me away, but it was still good...Im kind of picky about my coffee.

We are in Point Loma bringing our daughter back to school from Colorado and she recommended The Living Room as the place to go to for our coffee fix each day. After 3 days in a row getting coffee, breakfast and a mid day pick-me up, I cannot say enough about this sweet little gem of a coffee shop. Great coffee! Great french toast! And my husband has had their baklava every day and raves about it. Love The Living Room!

This is a great place to come and relax. It is a cozy place to curl up with a book and a coffee or catch with some friends on the patio. The food is good while the service is a bit slow it, doesnt really matter since its not the type of place where you are trying to run in and run out. The people that work there are quite friendly. It is frequented by PLNU students as well as PLHS kids.

Living room is ok. I wouldnt call it cute, but has a good vibe. Got an Acaí bowl for about $7.50 and a slice of carrot cake. The carrot cake was delicious! The Acaí bowl was average, they blended it with apple juice and topped it with strawberries and bananas. Good size though. Especially 3 stars because it could use a cleaning. The bathroom was pretty bad. But nice people atleast!

Personality! Quaint, classic cafe venue. Gotta check this place out. Plenty of small tables inside and some larger tables on the front patio. Coffee selection, sandwiches, and snacks will have your appetite covered. The backyard patio is on a wood deck surrounded by nice greenery. Inside theyve got some great vinyl cases to help you experience a blast from the past.

The waitresses were very nice. What I guess to be the owners were a couple. Very nice. The food was good.... although its not out of this world kind of food, so I gave it a 4. The service was great and fast. This night it was half way filled up with people. Id eat there again if someone wanted to eat there or try it.
