Best place for dinner in San Carlos.Another fabulous night on the TOWN. We started our night with parking just a few doors down! SCORE! Parking in SC can be a bit dicey at times. But it was a crisp autumn night and not in the mood for a long walk. Our first decision was Barrel Aged Manhattans for everyone. These have a smokey flower and a perfect balance -- not too sweet. I was pushing for the Philly Cheesesteak Eggrolls (I dream of these delicious little morsels) but was outvoted and told we need to get something different. Fine! Three words... Crispy Garlic Cauliflower-- OMG!!! We played Rock/Paper/Scissors to see who got to lick the plate. Sweet garlic chile with horseradish goat cheese - who knew this was a thing! Then, the Warm Napa Salad with bacon, bleu cheese and mushrooms and crunchy, tasty yum. Finished with 2 steaks, the Horseradish Crusted Filet and the NY Strip. Both were perfectly cooked and both came with terrific sides. A half bottle of Faust and we were in heaven. No dessert tonight, but well be back for that Bread Pudding! Our bartender/server was Amelia and she was within easy reach without hovering. She was friendly, professional and ideal for our needs!

Ive been to Town several times for brunch and have never been disappointed. Granted, Ive never walked out of there sober, so my judgment may be partially impaired each time. Bottomless mimosas for $15! The servers kept an eye on our glasses and filled them every time we ran low. They refilled our water too, and checked up on us regularly to made sure we were doing okay. There is a large variety of selections for brunch and all the portions are quite large. I would highly recommend the following dishes: -chicken & waffles -crabcake benedict -benedict a trios -town waffle hubby likes the Loco Moco but I prefer it with fried rice as opposed to steam rice, which is how Town serves it. Minus 1 star for how difficult it is to read the menu due to the interchanging large and small fonts. P.S. should you happen to arrive and no tables are available (or youre early for your table), you can get started on the bottomless mimosas at the bar and bring them over to your table!

We came to Town for our first dinner out in San Carlos. 16 month old in tow we werent sure what to expect from the nicest restaurant on Laurel Street. First the positives: Nice decor, good service, large menu and good food. I had the BBQ shrimp which were really tasty dripping in good old butter and seasoning. My Halibut was well cooked and accompanied by plenty of vegetables. I would have liked a little more flavor, but the fish was natural and fresh. Now the bad: Town is really, really noisy. We went at 6 PM because of our daughter and the din was nearly deafening because of the bar. In the suburbs I expect a little more quiet. Still on the margin it was a good place and if you can get a quiet table I would recommend it in a heartbeat. Its even good with kids since few nice restaurants have kids menus.

This review is only for their Trio Eggs Benedict, which include crab cake, steak and a regular ham one. The muffins at the bottom of the egg benedict were a bit too hard and dry to cut and chew. It didnt seem like they made them fresh. Instead, they probably got them ready made from somewhere. So that was a turn off. The crab cake was rather fresh. The steak was juicy. I am not a big fan of ham, so I didnt like the regular one. The service was great. They do seem to have some great cocktails. There was one thats with sweet and sour, egg white and rum (maybe?) that looked pretty good. We didnt order though. The floor inside the restaurant was very sticky and slippery. Ladies with heels, be careful!

This is a trendy restaurant/bar. I have been there for both the brunch and dinner. Personally I prefer going here for brunch, as I am not a fan of evening bar scenes. The food is very good. On the dinner menu the ribs are fantastic, with the baked fish a close second. At brunch I always order eggs Benedict and they make them perfectly every time (an impressive feat). Im not a fan of their candied bacon, it is a little too sweet for me, but it is the only thing on their menu that I dislike, and it is not due to quality. The service is fast and friendly at brunch, crowded bar slow and friendly at dinner.

It is loud - too loud - and busy. Without reservations you might have to wait an hour; we never go without reservations. And, last negative, they are not respectful of the sidewalk - their tables spill way beyond what seems appropriate to me. Having said that, the entrees are great and so is the service. I had a most excellent rib eye, and I took half of it home. My friends loved their entrees as well. I was disappointed in the caramelized banana cake dessert. Looked weird and was a bit bland. We now go to Town just for the mains and have dessert elsewhere.

The Kobe Beef gourmet Sloppy Joe starter topped with fresh cole slaw made me smile - both at the childhood dish now served as a grown-up pleasure and at the Adam Sandler song playing in my head - combined with a good Mojito Cubano. The Beet Salad was accompanied by excellent quality feta cheese. Fresh Halibut was fantastic and the Seared Scallops were delicious (but the risotto was too butter/fat-filled for my taste). The Bread Pudding dessert was a huge comfort-food ending to a fun meal. Highly recommended.

After reading all the reviews, and having driven by many times and seeing the crowds....I decided to use Town for a business dinner. We had a group of 9....our table was waiting for us....we had great service. Tried a few appetizers to share...they were excellent. Then dug into soups / salads and our entrees. I had the corn chowder...which was fantastic. Everyone in the group was pleased with this choice for dinner. We have lots of business dinners and Town scored at the top of the list. EXCellent!

We had been hearing about Town for quite some time and were so happy they had an opening on the patio. Thats a great secret - if you cant get a reservation on OpenTable or calling, ask to be seated on the patio as there always seems to be room. Its not too cold due to the heaters. The food was amazing and just the right size. We started with a few apps and then went into the main course. The steak was just right as were the side dishes. Great place for casual business dinner or night on the town.

Very nice place in the main part of downtown San Carlos. Lots of great choices and excellent service, and the food really was the star! We started with their California Roll, which was easily the best California Roll that Ive had in a very long time! (Maybe ever!) The chicken and ribs combo was a great choice, as both were excellent. I paired it with the chili green beans and mac n cheese, and it was a great meal! The other guests had some good choices too, as the baseball cut steal looked awesome!
