I ate today for the second time Cabalen food at Market, a fantastic new grocery store on Market Street and 10th , four blocks from my San Francisco home near the Union Square. Cabalen, may very well be preparing the best food of the archipelago of the Philippines on this side of the vinegar dark Pacific Ocean. I loved the Binagonggun chicken , thick in spice and shrimp sauce. Lumpia Hubud was great and so was Ginisang Kalasia, a vegetable dish cooked in coconut milk. I also ate pork head sisig. Many years ago I ate lemon fish from Mindanao at old House of Lumpia in the financial District -- that place is closed now after a fire destroyed the Pacific Rim food mall. My salute to the chefs of Cabalen for preparing such amazing dishes and I hope they very soon open an outpost in Mission or around the Uniion Square in our ciudad por le bahia.

Okay so first off the food was cold. Server was slow. Manager had no idea what customer service is. The chicken was dark and very oddly cut. The rice was burnt and old. The only thing that was good there was the can of coke i received. Besides that this is one of the worstttt restaurant / buffet i have ever been to! Please do not go and ever waiste your hard working money on this. $14 to be exact! #Disgusting #WorstFood #Nastyyy #DryFood #burntFood #WaisteOfMoney #BadService #ZeroStarZerrrooooooo

Well the place is quite clean except for the fish soup was cold and some of the entrée were the same. The price is quit affordable for whats worth for is good place to eat tasty and good Filipino original home style cooking I give the cook a 5 stars.....also, we came far from Orange County just to try this buffet not too disappointed because, some entrée was cold but delicious even the deserts were very good....

What a nice restaurant, very friendly staff. all you can eat is awesome. Lots of baboy or pork at the bar, the salad is ok but the only thing I left wanting was lumpia. For the parking there are free parking spots along the road that are taken. We parked at the bank of America parking lot just a few blocks up and walked around to all the shops.

We went there to eat @ around 6p and noticed that the food selections for their bufftet are mostly left over from lunch and barely nothing on their buffet table. We were expecting that the food are better in the evenings since the price per head during dinner time is more pricey than lunch time.

Not much choice on selection of food for the buffet. The Karekare was good and is worth the $9+ I paid for. Ill go to the other Filipino restaurants in that area and pay more for better food. Staff are nice and courteous, though.

A good introduction to filipino food. A decent variety of proteins: fried chicken, curry, pancit etc... If your in the area its worth a stop especially if youve never had filipino food before.

Good place to eat when craving Filipino food. Its an all you can eat buffet for $11 so its not bad at all. Good time to come is around 6:30 till closing on weekdays.

Disappointed. The food selection was nothing like the pictures I saw online. There was no dinuguan. No krispy kangkong (spinach). The food was not hot.
