This is a vegetarian restaurant with lots of vegan options, but for some reason on our more recent visit, the server insisted it was "completely vegan," which isnt possible knowing they have dishes with eggs in them. Be sure to ask lots of questions if you have particular dietary needs. It isnt cheap, but I consider this to be a "specialty restaurant" that can meet most dietary needs and the quality is so good that it is fairly priced. For those on a budget, I recommend lunch specials (which arent available on holidays, some of which they are open for). Our most recent visit was on Thanksgiving Day and we were so happy they were open so we didnt have to cook vegan at home when my nephew was visiting. Since the specials were not available, we had to order from the main menu, but the portions were huge and most people (except for pigs like me) will probably get two meals out of it. I had Mushroom Crispy House Chicken and it was absolutely delish and I left none of it for later; ate every bite! My nephew had some type of combination with fake meat and lots of veggies with a nice sauce; the serving was huge. He enjoyed it and I tried some too. I have to help my order next time we go cuz she ordered Fried Rice with Veg Shrimp from the Rice & Noodle category, not realizing it would be mostly rice. Next time I will help her order an entree because those will have mostly the protein items and then one can order rice on the side, which works out better, in my opinion. The vegan tiramisu and carrot cake are excellent for dessert (and I generally stay clear of carrot cake). Getting an appetite just writing this review, that is for sure!

Food was great, but customer service wasnt very pleasant. We waited 15 minutes for our waitress to take our order. The waitress was very moody and unpleasant. She kept snapping at us. I asked what she recommended and she looked at me like it was a stupid question. We then asked about religion and how it relates to veganism and she told us Buddhist are all the same. We were trying to figure out which Buddhism subcategory followed vegetarianism and veganism religiously. Other than the service the food was awesome! I loved the Spicy Eggplant Tofu dish. Their soup was also very delicious which came with the dinner special . Towards the end, I noticed that I havent received my fried spring roll. I asked the busser if she could bring my spring roll. She was confused and kept trying to box up my food. Then the moody waitress came out and scolded me by telling that I only get one spring roll. I cannot have two. I thought there must be a misunderstanding. We finally realized that my spring roll was served on the same plate as my friend. I had no idea that was my spring roll and why would they serve it on the same plate when it was suppose to be with my dinner special! I was really angry by the end of the night. I didnt even want to leave them a tip, but they already included the tip with my bill! Bummer two stars knocked down for bad service!

Ive been going to Happy Family for about 6 months now, and Ive never been disappointed... I guess there were a few times I wasnt entirely blown away, but never disappointed. Everyday, Im there I see and listen to some meatatarians fall in love... I just had Thanksgiving with some of my friends there, and it was the best Thanksgiving of our lives... If you dont go to this restaurant, you can continue to live with your mediocre half-assed IE food, but from my perspective, youre not really experiencing life until youve had it... In case youre not convinced by this endorsement, I plan on leaving my cosmopolitan hometown every future year to come to Californias IE just for Happy Familys Thanksgiving Dinner.

I frequent Happy Family solely for their Mushroom Chicken w/ Sesame entree dish. Hands down my favorite thing from Happy Family. Too bad this dish isnt on their Lunch Special Menu-- that would have been too perfect! :P The prices here are really good, especially when you order from their lunch special menu. You get a lot of food for the amount youre paying! Note to meat-lovers: none of the dishes have meat! Theyre all vegan substitutes. But dont let this turn you away! The difference is hardly noticeable. And if you can tell the difference, youll forget about it because the food is just so darn delicious!

My wife is a devout vegan and im a carnivore. We came here for dinner at her request and i cannot explain how tasty the food was here. I stuffed myself till i couldnt walk. The spicy kung pao chicken was amazing. The texture and flavor tricked my mind to think i was eating chicken. Absolutely delicious. My wife had the sweet n sour chicken and that was amazing. I ate all of mine and half of hers. Highly highly recommend this place regardless of being vegan or not. AMAZING!

Awesome vegan restaurant! The food is great. The menu has a wide variety of different vegan and vegetarian items to choose from. I had the soy chicken with orange peel and the noodles, which was so delicious. The only reason why I didnt give this place a 5 star liked I had hoped was because the costumer service wasnt that great. Our server seemed inpatient with us and not too courteous. But I would definitely recommend this spot for their food!

Big Mikey says, "Wonderful Chinese-vegetarian cuisine, very friendly service!! Masarap talaga!". If we could eat like this everyday, my entire family would become life-long vegetarians! Due to the ingenious texture, flavor and culinary craftsmanship of the chefs at Happy Family Restaurant, the kids thought they were eating "real" fish and chicken. Everything from their spicy crispy oysters to their mocha soy boba was outstanding.

I love this place. I am a carnivore, who rarely eats red meat, but eats poultry. But I love this place. I took my vegetarian roommate, and now she keeps bugging me to take her again. You know how you eat alot of food and you want to fall asleep or you feel like your gonna die. You dont have those feelings after eating here. My fav. pumpkin soup, and beef (veg) N Broccoli. Little pricey for me but just eat around lunch time.

I went here yesterday for the first time. The atmosphere was pleasant and there was great customer service. The food...... the food was beyond belief. I had the orange "chicken" with a side of rice and tofu and corn soup and my friend had shrimp. He did not even realize that the shrimp was not real shrimp. We were both extremely satisfied and I would reccomend this place to all vegetarians, vegans, and meat eaters.

I came with a group of friends and found this place on tripadvisor. The food here is absolutely amazing and for the prices given, it cant be beaten! The food here is made from scratch and cant be found anywhere else. If you are looking for a great lunch spot, look no further! Doggy Style is perfect if you want something different than your typical local food.

This place is amazing! Everything on the menu is vegan so you dont have to ask what the vegan options are. The food is delicious!! Taste just like the real stuff, but better! The food is very reasonably priced. The location is small, but the atmosphere is nice. The decor is very pretty. The staff was very polite and friendly. I will definitely be returning!
