Mini Gourmet used to be my go to spot for afterwards "breakfast" or any dinner in general. I recently moved near to the Campbell area and was quiet happy knowing that Mini Gourmet was close by however the last 3 times I came here I was very unhappy with the service and the food. One time my Potatoes were raw and my chorizo was burnt, pitch black. The waitress said "some people like it that way," well, thats their problem, I like flavor in my food, and that was that. Another time one of the waitress was chit-chatting with her friends the whole time, even while taking our orders, it felt very disrespectful. I havent gone back in a few months.

Zagats description of this place as "unpretentious" no longer applies. After a renovation, the cozy booths are replaced with tiny coffee-shop sized tables, no longer able to accommodate our board gaming group. On top of that, the staff are discouraging events and lingering patrons, rushing meals and acting like a trendy café. The cozy atmosphere has been replaced with a bright, stark, empty space that echoes sound rather than absorbing it. I can hear every conversation in the entire café from my seat; the old booth benches and wallpaper didnt reflect sound like this. What a waste; the best diner in the South Bay may have become the worst.

My grandsons great adventure when visiting is to go to the Mini Gourmet for ICE CREAM. Their eyes just about pop out of their head when the banana splits are being set on the table. The Mini Gourmet is back open after being closed for repairs and we are glad it is. We love it for dinner or for a cup of coffee and pie to catch up with friends. The Mini has been open in San Jose as long as I have lived here - 30+ years and I hope it stays around another 30+.

Ive been going to this restaurants for so many years even my childhood with family I like the old restaurant better it deserved a five-star it was homie, and staff there was more welcoming. Now after the renovation I dont agree with their food too much out today at lunch I had a hamburger but it wasnt that good but I do highly recommend soups sandwiches desserts and breakfast. lunch time I dont recommend this place, dinnertime and after hours yes I do .

Calling out the punk *** dumb f***** of a piece of scum who I just crossed paths with right here in this corner because it looks like youre the one that needs more time to learn on your driving skills by going to where else a driving school and this is in no way by any means a senior citizen abuse folks, better yet it also looks like youre the one that also needs a pair of reading glasses and let me know on how all of that pans out in the meantime Ok!!

Waiter was kinda absent. Forgot to bring me the water I asked for. When he brought the plates, he didnt remember who ordered what, and instead of going to the other side of the table we had to reach across the length of it. Also the "large" juice they charged me over $3 for was about 8oz. On the plus side the food was decent and theyre open 24 hours. Good for cravings.

Good, comfort food. Great prices. Good above and beyond customer service. Had a few issues and had to close temporarily, twice. Back open. Dont try to phone in orders because that service is the worst. You must go in. Some of their lunch specials can be confusing. Overall a gem in the midst of the city hustle. Very small parking lot.

Dont hate it, dont love it. Been twice with co-worker who lives nearby. Have been able to eat everything served, clientele seem to be older, as I think one would expect at a classic dinner. Staff nice enough. Service quick enough. Open quite late, if youre in the mood for typical American dishes after a movie or long day at work.

First experience here was awesome, 5 star service. Second experience here was the absolute WORST service Ive ever had. And that is saying a lot. Horribly slow, they forgot about us apparently. Took forever for us to place or order, and we had to complain before anyone helped us. Ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous.

Mini Gourmet just had a renovation when I visited a couple months ago. I came here for lunch with my friend. The service was ok. And the food was ok too. It is not bad but not as good as it looks either. The lettuce tasted like it has been sitting in the fridge for a while so I didnt finish it.

Nice little diner with great breakfast all day. Open late. (The hours have been varying a bit, but currently open 24 hours Thursday-Saturday, and 6am-midnight other days.) BLT is also good. As is the little side salad. Other things Ive tried are just okay, but its a nice little place.

Ive been going here for decades, partly because its open late. The selection is diverse, almost so much that you can never figure out what to eat; although, half the time I order the chicken fried steak. I guess thats a good thing. If youre absolutely starving, you must go here.

This place has great comfort food!!!! I highly recommend the Monte Cristo sandwich with grilled onions and pancake syrup on it....c:.......went back recently just after the remodel. The food is no longer the same, its sad, would not recommend this place to anybody anymore.

The mini gourmet is great! For a place thats open 24/7 the food is waaayyy better than Dennys (is that saying much?). But the mini gourmet has great omelettes, good burgers, decent coffee and oh yeah, theyre open 24/7 so the food only gets better the later youre up.

It took 45 minutes to get our food at lunch time .its like the staff walks around in circles aimlessly . The cheese burger came on a 8 long roll . I had an inch and a half of bread overlapping my burger on each side . Burgers isnt something this place does right .

Clean diner with a huge menu just dont deviate from the standard diner fair (Mexican and Italian offerings?) And youll be fine. Wait staff is no nonsense and gets you what you need. Its a diner and much better than Dennys or Country Inn plus its locally owned.

Los huevos "rancheros" muy secos, ni siquiera les pusieron salsa encima como debe de ser, solo un poco de cebolla y jitomate.

Good for a greasy spoon. Usually high quality for a greasy spoon. The coffee tastes like Waffle House blend, but stronger... So... Its just sufficient, which makes me sad :(. Super friendly service. Well lighted. Clean.
