3 1/2 stars! Happily surprised with decent grub late! Bar and grill style... Great staff. Cool long straight bar. Bar tenders were on their game. Fast, affordable and properly poured drinks. Great jukebox- lots of ska, old punk, psych, rockabilly and pop-punk. Nice smoking patio. Two .75cent pool tables. Stage with occasional live acts. Grill open till midnight on Fridays- If it wasnt almost closing time I would have explored the menu deeper. A very cool, fun and inspired menu. A much larger menu than Id expect at a punk rock bar. I talked with one of the cooks, who ran out food to our table. Their menu along with ordering has a respectable Market to Table - FTF Approach. The UP side- I ordered their house hamburger at 1115pm. The burger was awesome, especially with the fried egg I had added on! My friend got a fresh, well garnished garden salad topped with grilled chicken that was delicious. On the down side- The French fries were bright white and tasted undercooked/raw. Either the fries were poorly blanched or just not blanched at all.Their fries do look to be hand cut in-house. Menu describes their fries as 100% Kenebeck potatoes. If they are taking the time to hand cut themselves, they should nail it and build on that craft cookery! The burger was killer and thats a lot harder to get down than a in-house FF program. Or, maybe I just got a lame portion of fries? Either way, super lit dive! Cant wait to get back there and order some of the obscure and fittingly punk rock named menu items!

Walked in and sat down and was immediately unimpressed with the fact that I was asked to get up from my table to show my ID....I dont know why they couldnt make the 5 steps to check it instead of making me get up. The food was sub par and after they made my girl a watered down version of a margarita (worst one Ive ever had) they only took half the price off even though only a sip had been talked off of it. Never going here again.

The bartender Mariah was drunk and tried to tell me what my own last name was and actually argued with me about it. Her customer service was total crap. I will never come to this place again. She got me kicked out because she debated me over what my name was. She should be fired running off paying customer in a drunk rant. If you cant handle the stress of being a bartender, dont be one.

Great local beer on tap. First time Id heard of and tried Bike Dog beer from West Sacramento. That alone is worth a trip back. Good food in a cool old brick building. Pool tables and specials all week long. If youre a bicyclist that likes to enjoy a refreshing malted sports beverage on a ride, make sure you stop at the Hideaway.

Not bad food, lots of tables so you never have wait to sit, but the service can be kind of slow on busy weekend nights. Sometimes you literally have to grab a bartender for a drink. Check out their event schedule they sometimes have great DJs spinning vinyl.

One of the best kept secrets in Sacramento, IMHO. A legendary "locals local," the Hideaway has fantastic service, great food, incredible atmosphere, perfectly poured drinks and hands down one of the best jukeboxes youll ever find!

Dive bar with surprisingly EXCELLENT food and quite a few vegan options. Bartenders tend to be a little intimidating, but really sweet if you get past the front. Good local place for hanging out.
