This place discriminated against disability. We went to the event at the Sacramento Natural Foods Co-Op which involved raffle prize drawing. After we won our prizes which my brother got a free bottle, a worker there named Teressa said we that could draw another Grand prize at the end which is between 2:30 to 3 pm. So we came back at 2:45 and filled out the form for the Grand prize. When my brother (whom has an autism and mental illness) was filling the form, Teressa and her manager, Christina, accused him of trying to take away another gift, and refused him. Three of them (another woman but I do not know the name) were standing there and targeting him, in the middle of many other people surrounding. I was standing at the door seeing this happened. Teressas face looked disgusted at my brother. Then I came talk to Christina, she said that the Grand prize only started after 3 pm, and when my brother came enter his information they thought that he was trying to take another free gift. But we did what Teressa has told us before, to come back at 2:30 to 3. We didnt mean to steal another gift or anything, we just wanted to enter our information for the grand prize so that my brother would be happy. But the way they treated my brother made him very upset and wandered around which took us about 2 hours there looking for him. I tried to tell them that this is not okay and the way they treated disabled people is not acceptable. They kept saying that he was trying to get another prize, while what he did was to enter his information for the Grand prize. They also defended for Teressas action, and had a defiant attitude when I said I would report this. I dont know if this is going to happen again to other disabled people in the future like what they did to my brother.

We have been members of and using the Co-Op since 2007. Their quality is consistently excellent, although that comes with a premium, offset somewhat by the regular member discounts. The staff are always the very best - friendly and professional. They put on regular classes in cooking which sound good, but I havent yet tried them. I attended the members training course to be a volunteer (which gives you extra discount) but have not actually done any yet! The new store was a long time coming but is fabulous. I have a little complaint about the aggressive wind blaster at the front door which must be a nightmare for the adjacent Customer Service Desk. It always startles me and makes me want to rush out of the grocery section. Id say we do 50-70% of our grocery shopping here, along with Trader Joes and Corti Bros. The wine prices are a bit too high for everyday wine, at least for our budget and we get our milk elsewhere (TJ, Target). I love the new to go food stations - Sushi, Mexican, Sandwiches and by the pound self-service. I do with my office was a little closer so I could walk there for lunch.

I want to preface this by saying the staff at the co-op have always been nice and quite helpful. I only called today to see if they still had blue cheese stuffed olives (at some stores, they are a seasonal item). I was wanting to get these as a small gift for someone. I was transferred twice separately to both the deli department, and wine and cheese department. Each department did not answer after 5 minutes (total hold time of 10 minutes). I called again and I told the lady on the phone what happened and I asked her if she could find this out for me since I struck out twice. She was quite rude. I think her name was Carolyn. I literally just wanted to know whether or not they had them before I took a trip to the store. Apparently, she or the other gentleman who answered the phone couldnt be bothered to page those departments and check. Needless to say, this soured my experience with the co-op. I will still go because of their food selection but the people who answer the phones need an attitude adjustment and a lesson in positive customer service.

The Sacramento Natural Food Co-op is top notch when it comes to quality AND variety! The staff after always helpful and for the most part friendly. I wish the hot/cold bar was a bit cheaper. I accept the price knowing that it all organic and the highest quality. One thing I feel could be improved upon is their Turkey Breakfast Burrito. The fact that it is called a "Turkey" breakfast burrito and there is hardly any Turkey sausage in it is disappointing, especially due to the price. All in all though, I will keep coming back and look forward to their new location that is opening up in August of 2016 with much more parking and bigger store. Unfortunately they are not planning to serve beer or wine in the deli cafe area at the new site.

The quality is among the best in Midtown if youre looking to shop for healthy food. However, the staff here has a mentality of "if youre not with us, youre against us" You get the feeling of a too-cool mentality from the people that work here for the most part. The same can be said for the customers who can afford to be marxist but if you are of that ilk, employees beam at your like you were Lenin himself. The meat department however is a welcome exception from the rule as they seem to be only ones who were not up on drugs the night before. Otherwise expect lukewarm smiles at best. The store can be likened to a Durian fruit. The inside is delicious but you have to deal with a tough, thorny outer shell that stinks to high hell.

You dont need to be a member to enjoy this place, but there are some advantages to making that plunge. If I lived within walking distance, this would likely be my grocery store. I have purchased everything there from glass jars for brewing sun tea, to trail mix for backpacking, to Dr. Bronners soaps and lotions, to olives from the olive bar, and a variety of food and beverage products. You can also grab a bite to eat at their in-house cafe. Parking is always available at this downtown location. Prices also seem to be fair overall, although I have found a few things to be absolute bargains and others to be a little too high. Just wished I lived a bit closer.

I love this store. The staff is helpful and kind, they have a great selection of vegan cheeses, they have a community discount for low income individuals, they have a bag-less honor system that sends the savings to charitable Orgs, the only two things I would change is the placement of the dead animal flesh. Its RIGHT NEXT to the bread and I feel like Im in a horror movie when I shop in that area. I DO NOT EVER buy my bread there, I go elsewhere. The other thing is they need to get back the vegan items they stopped carrying, like the vegan taquitos, the vegan shrimp style meat and the vegan sour cream and onion chips. Overall though, I love this store.

I loved the old SNFC and I rarely go to the new one. It is crowded and has lost all of its charm. It reminds me of a poor imitation of Whole Foods. I bet I went to the old store five times a week and honestly I dont if I have been fives times since it opened. Today, Anti-depression Friday I went in to do some shopping, It used to be so much fun as you would bump into friends and acquaintances and now there is no room to chat with anyone as it is so crowded. It was so hard to do anything I bought three items and went to Safeway. I have been shopping there for 20 years and now it is an assignment in hell when I have to go. And it really makes me sad.
