My friend and I started off by having some of the smoked salmon appetizer along with the prawn one as well. My favorite out of the two would have to be the prawn! Next I ordered the smoked salmon hot sandwich. The bread that they serve for the sandwich is amazing! Their sandwiches come with a spring mixed salad that I will assume is topped with a dijon mustard type of dressing. This dressing was so well done that I wondered if it was home made. The sandwiches are definitely fit for one meal and then saving the rest for later. I can say that this place is yummy, healthy and right up a pescatarians alley! Ive had both the hot and cold sandwiches and there is just something about the cold ones that I truly love! This place is a nice spot to sit, eat alone and be in the moment!

Entrees (we had two of the three on the menu) were a huge disappointment. Too-thick mayonnaisey sauces covering smoked salmon (which was very good) and chicken; potatoes au gratin were Stauffers quality and zuccini was overcooked and smothered in a tomato sauce. Would have been a disappointment as cruise-ship food. Cannot attest to quality of sandwiches, which many say are excellent. The three employees were very nice, very personable; service was great. Temp inside was too hot, the room too stuffy, the music inexplicable, and the wooden folding chairs uncomfortable. Save your money on the dinners--try the sandwiches.

Fabulous French Cafe - everything on the menu is FANTASTIC. If you have a penchant for Foie Gras you can satisfy your craving here. There is a lovely Foie Gras salad and if you love baguettes this is hands down the place to order a sandwich. The spring greens with a mustard vinaigrette dressing is the perfect compliment to each sandwich. I am not a wine drinker but my friends who are wine savvy always comment on what a good selection of wines they have. The owner William, is very friendly and even makes the rounds to check on guests. Cafe Rolle is very accommodating, has great food and is a gem of a find!

Its a very cozy little French cafe. I love how it almost transport you to a worldly experience with the staff speaking French and reminded me of my time in Paris. I am in love with the decadent warm Brie sandwiches with the walnuts and I usually add Carmelites onions. The crusty French bread and the gooey melted Brie makes this one of my top sandwiches ever. Their salmon sandwich is delicious as well and also the stacys favorite.

Cetait Fantastique! I had the hot, smoked salmon sandwich and it was delicious!!! I said bonjour back to the waiter and he said "en francais"! As a student, it was a fun experience ordering in french, an opportunity I havent had since traveling abroad. The only negative I suppose is how small the cafe is relative to how many people inside. I would suggest going an hour before or after the lunch crowd in order to get a seat :)

Some of the best sandwiches Ive ever had in Sacramento of all places. Start with crusty French baguettes, add a generous helping of quality cheese, and then add sliced lamb ($11.50 for dinner for the hot lamb sandwich) or house smoked salmon ($12.50 for dinner for the Favorite). I actually dont think anything can be done to improve what theyre trying to do. Perfection!

The salmon sandwiches are to die for. The flavor combinations are perfect. The bread was bakery fresh, soft with a flakey crust. The servers were on top of everything, pleasant & professional. We were visiting from out of town & I could tell there were local, loyal customers there. It was a very pleasant clientele. Ill definitely be back when visiting Sac.

This place is wonderful and its a must stop every time we pass through Sacramento. I just wish they were open longer so we could visit more often. We love the smoked salmon crostini and Stacys Favorite with either ham or smoked salmon. You will think you died and went to heaven. For dessert, we had the chocolate creme brulee and that was wonderful too.

Absolutely scrumptious! I thoroughly enjoyed the hot brie and walnut sandwich with a delicious salad and uniquely flavorful au gratin potatoes. My wife had the poached salmon salad and raved about it as well We concluded our experience with a wonderful raspberry crem brule. Everything was great, including the service.

Cafe Rolle has some of the best food in Sacramento. I recommend them to my friends without reservation. Their Croque Monsieur is one of the best sandwiches Ive ever had anywhere. A quaint spot, expect a possible wait especially during the weekends. It is worth it if you do have to wait. Going here is an absolute must.

Awesome little French Cafe. Service and food are both on point. The menu is simple, but you are sure to find something youll like. The foie gras is great, especially for the price. Expect to see sandwiches and salads on the menu. Options are pretty much chicken, salmon (poached or smoked), roast beef, or lamb.

Finally went to this place and I loved it. I had the salmon and brie sandwich and oh man it was good. Freshest Salmon ive ever had. having lived in France for a year back in 2005/2006, I have always missed french food. I love how the owner/chef sings to himself as he works. Good wine selection too.

We had an early dinner at Petra as it was right around the corner from our hotel. I had a combination of chicken, and pork kebabs and a beefteki patty with fries and the wife had a gyro with double salad. All food was hot and fresh. Price was cheap for all the food you get.

This place is Amazing. Ive been to Paris before and this cafe took me back there. Their smoked salmon sandwich is awesome, the perfect brunch place and perfect with a glass of red wine. Waiters and chef were all very friendly, i wish they were just a little bigger

Great French sandwiches and seafood in a small unpretentious bistro atmosphere from a dedicated chef/owner. Located off the beaten path in a residential neighborhood. Very casual dining from this spot that landed on the show Diners, Drive-in and Dives.

This deserves 5+. Best sandwiches Ive had so far yet in sacramento. Sandwiches are just divine and fresh cant describe in words. Salad and the potatoes that are served on the side compliment so well. Worth going to and we will come back for more!

The owner was very friendly and let us try the pate before ordering it. The staff was very attentive and cordial. The lamb sandwich was delicious and their creme brûlée and coffe are a pairing that will knock your socks off! Great cafe!
