My wife went to this place last night for our 5-year anniversary. Our honeymoon was in France 5 years ago, so needless to say we were looking forward to some authentic French food. I was very disappointed. We started with les escargot, and they were lacking in many areas. We realize theyre going to be canned anywhere you buy them, so thats fine, but these were drastically under seasoned and lacked garlic. Very mediocre. The Keg has better escargot. My wife ordered the trout special for her entry, which was flavorful. The only flaw on this was the soggy skin on the trout. Yes, the skin is edible, and can be very good, but this skin was a soggy, slimey mess. If youre going to serve skin on the pan-seared fish, it should be crispy. I ordered coq au vin with a puree carrot and ginger soup. The soup was good, but again, lacked seasoning. The chicken was barely palatable. The sauce wasnt reduced enough (way too watery and weak), the whole dish needed salt (seeing a trend here with the lack of seasoning), and there was two small pieces of chicken (a leg and a tiny thigh). Wheres the value here for $25 a plate? With such a classic French dish, I was surprised of how wrong they got it. Bland and passionless. So, unfortunately, were still looking for a decent French restaurant in the Puget sound area.

My girlfriend and I recently visited Seattle from Denver and decided to try Cafe Campagne for brunch one Friday morning. I am not professionally trained in the culinary arts or anything but the Oeufs en meurette was the absolute finest breakfast/brunch meal I have ever had! I have never tasted that much flavor in a brunch meal, and I eat out almost for a living as I travel a ton for work. At $15 it is pricey for a brunch meal but it is worth twice that price. The eggs were poached perfectly, the garlic croutons underneath were tasty without overwhelming with crazy amounts of garlic, but the star of the meal was the red wine/foie gras sauce. Amazingly rich and such a wonderful flavor! The pommes frites that accompanied the meal were very good - freshly cut, skins on, a bit of salt and pepper added for flavor, and there were a ton of them. Honestly, if two people go to brunch here one person could order this meal and the other should get a small meal and split it all. It is great. The coffee was also great - strong, very French, and the freshly squeezed OJ was awesome, too. The attentive service topped it all off. Wonderful place - definitely go.

Friendly & attentive staff, Atmosphere, Wine List (ahh French Bordeaux, how i love thee!). Whether cozied up to the bar (my choice), at an intimate table or sitting on the raised outdoor patio - all seating is fabulous! Warm wood floors, intimate tables adorned with candles, the scent of rich & savory french delicacies dancing in the air... The Pomme Frites are excellent & traditional style, skin on. The brunch is a must whether you have guests in town for the weekend or not, its delish. The "Tarte" changes almost daily... always a rich and decadent treat - especially Grueyere and carmelized onion with Thyme. The Lamb Burger is a staple on the menu, available for brunch and so satisfying. Pressed on time or $$? Worth stopping in to enjoy a simple cheese and red by the glass. Sip and truly relax for a reasonable price with a +1 or solo, youll feel at home and enjoy conversation with the staff, if u so choose. :)

Yuck is the best thing I can say about this place! Very very very slow service! When I put the first bite of my meal in my mouth I knew this was going to be a disaster. Are you looking for authentic French cafe food? Forget it, you mostly will not find it here (one or two dishes qualify IMHO). It is a mystery to me how they came up with this menu. It is neither traditional French cafe nor upscale French cuisine. It may be some form of French bar food I am not familar with. Either way it is a salty over cooked masacre of the term French food. The atmosphere is a bar, a very shabby and cramped bar. You will not be treated to an upscale atmosphere for the upscale price. This place was a terrible dinner exerience and will never be consider again by me.

I booked this lovely restaurant for a board of directors dinner with 25 guests. I did this online from Boston based on a recommendation from someone who had had lunch there. What a terrific restaurant with delicious food and exemplary service. Everything was as promised. My guests enjoyed it all - the wine, local beers, appetizers, main meal, & desserts. The group dining menu is reasonably priced for what you get. The private dining space was perfect - intimate without feeling crowded. Before I left Seattle I went back and enjoyed fresh oysters at the bar. I usually never visit the same place twice when traveling but even with all the dining options at the Marketplace, I chose to return to Cafe Campagne.

I went to this restaurant on a Saturday evening with a few friends. The restaurant was not overly busy, when we arrived and was mildly busy when we left. The wait staff was very slow to bring us appetizers, entrees, and desserts. The food was ridiculous-salty! Two of the members of our party asked for a different entree, with the same results, too salty, not appetizing, overall, not worth the money we spent at this restaurant. I would not recommend this restaurant to any of my friends. It took us two and a half hours to get appetizers, dinner and a petit dessert. Very unhappy results for this evening. I will not go here again.

In a nice, not so "serious" environment - but super comfortable and French. Some co-workers brought me to Cafe Campagne for dinner, or should I say: I followed them. Perhaps the best Tartare in the city. It has to be! The best Cassoulet?!?! Again, yes. I see why people dine here for brunch, but holy cow the dinner menu is good. Great wine list. Wondeful Chevre Salad. Does Cafe Campagne get all the accolades in Seattle? They deserve it! Now, how is there more grown up sibling, Campagne? Cant wait to try it out - but I could be consumed with Cafe Campagne for some time...

Ive been here once for breakfast and once for dinner. Dinner was okay. It was delicious but a little too rich for my taste... Also, I wish it had been seasoned a little bit better. I kept wanting to get myself to like it more but it was really just okay. Breakfast, on the other hand, was unforgettable. Wow. BEST omelette ever. I mean I never thought Id be raving about a freaking omelette to anyone ever but thats stuff worth going there for! Also, the red wine foie gras sauce that comes with the oeufs en meurette? I can drink that stuff. Delicious.

Cafe Campagne is a fantastic addition to its finer dining french bistro sister - Marche. Its the perfect place for a casual brunch/lunch. The staff is very attentive. The food remarkable in its simplicity and attention to detail. The bloody marys are some of the best Seattle has to offer. Do not miss their quiche, french bread with soft cream butter, or their salads and soups. If you have room for dessert I highly recommend the Terrine Au Chocolat – Chocolate hazelnut terrine with orange syrup and toasted hazelnuts. Divine!
