Came here for happy hour which runs until 7:00. From the outside, it reminds me a bit of the pubs I saw in Ireland with the wooden signage and Celtic-style lettering. Close to the train tracks, its location in the older part of Roseville gives it charm. Inside, it looks very much like your typical pub. Lots of pub games, some guys were playing an electronic golfing game and there were other manly-man video games that didnt look inviting to me. Dress code-wise, my shirt neckline was too high and my hemline was too low. I felt a bit overdressed due to having more clothing-per-square-inch ratio than the other female patrons, but maybe Im just getting old. The happy hour menu has lots of choices: * $3 French toast sticks - With a crushed Capn Crunch coating, you get four pieces. It was good, didnt really feel the cereal love though. * $4 Onion rings - These were fantastic! Light, crispy, ours were a little burnt, but still good. *$4 Shepherds Pie - Came with melted cheese over mashed potatoes covering mincemeat w/ vegetables. Served in a largeish ramekin. Not my fave, but husband liked. *$5 Irish spring rolls - No these were not made with soap! House-made cabbage and corned beef rolled up and deep fried. Interesting, but not interesting enough to pay $5 for two small rolls cut up diagonally. Had a pint of a Belgian-style beer, dont recall the name, but the pouring handle/spout gizmo had a blue plaid pattern. Yummo. Better than Stella in my opinion. Lots of flat screen TVs. Watched Australia vs. US in womens softball. Dont know who won, but the US was ahead. I mean, cmon. Australia just CANT beat the US in that sport!

Irish bar? I dont think so. They have Guinness on tap, and its poured correctly, so thats good. Smithwicks, harps. No bulmers (Magners in the US) at all. We asked is they had soda bread, or Guinness bread, that did not, and did not know what it was. We tried the cottage pie, or shepards pie a traditional Irish dish, wasnt good. Was a heavy dark stew cover in a very very thin layer of cheese and potatoes. Anyone who wants a good cottage pie should look elsewhere. Only thing good was the beer they did have on tap, hence the second star.

Showed up on a night they were having a special event. We arrived before it was scheduled to begin, as in there was nothing special going on, but, they still made us pay a cover charge to get in. Went to order food and discovered they were only serving a very limited menu due to the special event. That was never mentioned at the door! Very disappointed in the place and felt like they were only interested in fleecing us out of as much money as possible.

On Saturday I hosted my wifes 50th Birthday party at the Boxing Donkey! Joe and the Boxing Donkey team were awesome! The food was great as well the drinks and music! This local owned business is the perfect fit for Roseville and something we need more of! I would host another party at The Boxing Donkey without hesitation! They made so easy to host our friends and family! Once again Thanks Joe and The Boxing Donkey team!

I recently took my daughter to the Boxing Donkey for lunch! The food was amazing! It was her first time there and we couldnt have been happier with our meals. The only thing that could be perfected was the bartender was also our waitress. She was super busy that day! Still very friendly and did a great job but she couldve used some back up on this particular day!

Good food but bartender with a with a man bunandaited on 4 twenty year olds that pushed in front of me and didnt have to wait at all. Then he did it again to my husband, ignored him to wait on the girls again. We had appetizers, 6 drinks and dinner and were treated like dirt. So if youre over twenty something expect to be ignored.

THIS ENTIRE AREA IS SKID ROW. THE HOTEL ABOVE THIS BAR IS FULL OF LOW INCOME/SECTION 8 TYPES,THAT WOULD STEAL YOUR WALLET. THE WEEKEND REVELERS TEAR UP THE AREA,AND IT HAS FREQUENT DRUNKEN RACIAL CONFLICTS. NOT TO MENTION THE OCCASIONAL WEAPONS BRAWL. DONT GO TO THIS NEIGHBORHOOD.

Cool place, but bartender boy, with the bun ontop of his mowhawk, wouldnt give you the time of day, unless were a 20 something, with big boobs. No problem, just moved down to the bartender who actually knows how to do his job, and tipped the hell out of him.

First time in the BD. Great atmosphere, wide variety of beers. My wife had a burger, said it was very good. I had the fish and chips. Fish was very good albeit a bit on the oily side. Fries were the way I like em. Crisp and crunchy. Wed go back!

Food is nothing special. Fish was good but a bit on the greasy side and the chips were just wierd, seemed really dry and hard, not crispy and tender on the inside. Like the beer on nitro, Boddingtons I think it was.

This is the old Barker hotel on the north side of the railyard. Food is good...youll need to order from the bar if you sit at a table. Good atmosphere here if you want to eat and drink.

A St. Patricks Day birthday patron says "A Taste of Dublin with a splash of Cali". A stop for the rebellion overseas, or a local Mc looking for a fix. A must stop for

I like this place - dripping with Irish personality, with some pretty original menu items. The walls are covered in what I can only describe as offline memes. Fun!
