Gave these guys a couple tries with nothing outstanding for expectations. I thought I was in for a light sports bar vibe, or a trendy craft beer bar vibe, or just a low-key but hospitable general bar. Sadly, keeping it vague, I had general issues with how knowledgeable the staff was, just as well as how hospitable. I felt like I was either bothering staff from their own preoccupations (when in reality it was slow as ever each time I went), or I just felt like I was a finicky patron when in reality, I just wanted to order pretty basic cocktails or beers (had to explain to the beer bartender of the night what a flight even is, then another day was just handed a 12oz after asking if I could order a pint of a certain beer, also had a layered shot messed up twice add then just served to me thus... If it were a big deal Id have opted against ordering it at all) The other unfortunate issue is definitely just the actual hardware of the bar. It feels like theyre almost always short on some type of glass my partys drinks are served in, which on its own is a trivial wait period, but awkwardly adds up over the night. The foosball table is free to enjoy but is missing integral pieces. The ladies room sinks take "fussy technology" to a new level with nearly bunk sensors that make the already dirty restroom experience that much worse in the end. These are little things but they come together to shape the way this bar really feels. At the end of the day, its with heavy consideration that I go with two stars. I wasnt expecting anything tremendous out of this place, but I seriously was not expecting "dive bar that happens to sport a good beer list" either (though, thats what youre going to get). Ive been to other Alley Katz locations without disappointment and various other bars. Heck, Ive WORKED in bars for a decent time in the last few years. If youre looking for a fun, hospitable venue with excellent service and good upkeep, this little joint just might leave you disappointed.

I went down to check this place out because I heard about the number of beers they have on tap. I tried the "Citrusy" (I know there is more to the name, but thats what I kept calling it and they knew what I was talking about, so..). Anyway, the beer was great and so was the crowd. I arrived after a MMA fight had ended so there wasnt a ton of people there. I went out to their fabulous patio and watched a Jenga game and then played Cornhole with some really nice people I met there. All in all, it was a very entertaining night and just what I needed to fulfill a boring Saturday night which would have otherwise been spent at home binge watching Friends or something. I will definitely go back. It is nice and close to home, and a cheap uber ride if necessary. Hope more people discover this gem and keep it open.

Two stars may be more than the experience deserves. Overall if your looking for a place that has some games and beer and backyard BBQ Alley Katz is great, however the bartender that was serving us Saturday evening was less than desired. She was rude to everyone with snide remarks around every corner. Sure we chose to go there but hey we are the customer which are whom inevitably drive the business. Would I go back, maybe to a corn hole event however other than that I dont think we will be giving alley katz another try. Understaffed could have been the problem, however its not somewhere I would highly recommend which is too bad with 40 beers on tap and an ok menu.

Do you like wiping your butt with seat covers(no toilet paper or paper towels... Disgusting)? Do you like flat beer on tap? Do you like a low key atmosphere? Video games that arent plugged in? Beertenders that know nothing about their own products? If you answered yes to these questions this is the place for you. It sucks citrus heights doesnt have many craft beer options because this place could be really cool. But its not. Theyre lucky they get 2 stars. Ive messaged the owner before and nothings changed. Given this place at least 6 or 7 chances throughout their existence at this location, but continue to disappoint.

I hated this place. I thought the employees were just so incredibly rude. They were haughty and condescending. They made me and my brothers feel like we were a distraction or a bother. The ambiance could have been better. Since its a new bar, the place was pretty much abandoned. They did have some games though the prices they were charging to rent darts was beyond astronomical. There are way better values at other Citrus Heights bars. My overall impression: terrible. Stay away from this one.

If i could give this place a 0 I would have. Came on a Friday night when they had beer pong and a dj. Sausage fest and everyone was upstairs playing beer pong. My friends and I decided to play pool on the 2nd pool table and right after our first game they shut us down saying the light was too bright for the dance floor! Uhhh wtf no one was even on the dance floor, place is a dive. Tried to reason with the manager but she was to wouldnt budge. So we took our business elsewhere and wont be back.

I know this place is new however that is the best time to make a good impression. I ordered the California tacos with no onions. It came out with onions. Then I asked for salsa and was offered a different type then I asked for. The tacos were dry and had no flavor. They dont have any protection from the elements on the patio! Not sure why a bar would not want there patrons to be comfortable.

Bartenders are not professional and have bad attitudes. The staff was to busy talking amongst themselves and did not break to offer us a drink. There are two other people in here on a Saturday night at 11pm. The horrible service and crummy guest experience is apparent. Im a long time industry worker and a bartender This place sucks and the proof is in the pudding.

This is a bar thats still searching for its soul. The place has good bones; a nice tap list, a bunch of TVs, and a great outdoor area. But there is something off about the establishment. Gets crowded on fight nights, but otherwise, not much going on. Hopefully it lasts.

Great beer selection, arcade games, outdoor games, booth seating, bar seating all somehow with the desired bar feel. I recommend it 10/10 times.
