2.5 to 3 stars I want to like this place so badly as it is convenient an close for me to eat there. I have given so many chances to this place and it just always is "not quite there". The staff is obviously untrained and unsupervised. Service is very inconsistent. Food quality varies greatly from one visit to the next. Dishes are mildly spiced and lack bold flavors. Twice I have ordered their "super" burrito. I forget the name they call it. One time, it had meat and lettuce.....chopped iceberg lettuce and meat. Thats it. No salsa, no rice, no beans, no cheese. And I paid for a super burrito. The 2nd time I ordered it, I got beef instead of chicken, though this burrito had all the proper inclusions. The owner obviously is not there enough to really instill that passion and caring for what the customer is experiencing. Dont bother coming here.

Hi Joshopine I read your response. I have no idea if Bre is still employed by you since I saw her working there. I will not go anywhere close to where that thief is. This is why I cant meet you in person nor pop in to leave you my number. Bre stole over $400 from me and trashed my car. When she was homeless I tried to help her out where in which she took my kindness as an opportunity to steal from me. I hear she still doesnt think she did anything wrong. All I can say is I guess one would have to know better to act this way and she obviously does not. I hope this sheds some light on who Bre is and if you dont want to be associated with thieves lose her quickly because its only a matter of time until she steals from you or your customers. I am an homest person and I would not say anything against someone if it were not the absolute truth.

Our company hosts an employee quarterly luncheon and we almost always order from El Sol when the luncheon falls around end of April to May. We usually order chicken enchilada, carnitas and a beef dish plus all the trimmings and sides. And food is always tasty. Carnitas and enchilada are well-seasoned and carnitas has always been very tender and juicy. Rice has never been dry either. The owner, Josephine, has always been pleasant to work with. The only not so good experience I had through the years was the ladies who answer the phones are not good in giving messages to the owner re my catering events, hence, I had to go with other options.

Terrible Mexican food!! Defiantly not go back! Carne asada -not quality meat full of nerves Tortillas so hard, super burritos very poor, no Guacamole, very small sour cream, meatless Salsa not a taste of chile pepper at all Very pricy $$$$ no thank you Go to gordos at Berkeley thats burritos

Family run business seems nice, but this is about food, and unfortunately not good. A simple burrito should be juicy succulent, fresh diced greens, not dry. Hate to do it, but theres a crazy awesome taco truck near the school/chevron gas down the street.

I have never had a bad experience here. I love ordering their chicken soup and having them add rice into it. IT IS SO DELICIOUS!!!!! It always makes me feel good when I am under the weather.

I really wanted to like it since the staff was so nice, but unfortunately my breakfast burrito was not good - mostly cheese and beans without any distinctive taste.
