Whew, talk about overrated. Its not like this place is bad per se, but I dont know why anyone would eat here given all the other good restaurants in the Bay Area. Maybe if you live in Portola Valley, but otherwise its definitely not worth going. My wife made a reservation for us to go here with her parents visiting from outside the country. They really enjoy good food, and it was actually slightly embarrassing given how average the food was here. Again, its not like the food is awful or anything. But our standard for a good restaurant is that it should be better or more difficult than what we can cook at home. Food like roasted salmon, a hamburger, etc. dont count unless its amazing, which here, its just not.

In particular, awesome lamb chops. A bit pricey, but they make it up in food quality and service. In the middle of the idyllic (though definitely upscale) neighborhood---I also enjoy the drive there during sunset hours. Upside down pineapple cake is a unique and great a dessert. Steaks are huge (for me anyway)---make sure to pace yourself with starters!

My husband and I have dinner once a week at Parkside Grill and I often bring friends there for lunch. The food is excellent! The service is great. And, in the warmer weather it is delightful to eat outdoors under the huge redwood trees. (I hesitate to share this "marvelous secret find"! Hope we will still be able to get a table. :)

In a word - Fabulous! The food, the service, the location, the atmosphere - five stars. If I lived in the area, I would be a regular. The pumpkin ravioli is amazing, and kept a smile on my face the entire time. I was sad to take the last bite. The appetizer fig and brie pizza is also something special.

Wonderful meal. Easily the best in Portola Valley. A bit away from everything but super friendly staff and a great meal. Hey risotto was very tasty and even their Mac and cheese was above and beyond the usual shells and cheese. Certainly on the pricey side but will definitely be back.

We had our wedding rehearsal dinner at the Parkside grill. This was a very large group (80+ guests) and the manager and his staff did a fantastic job. The food was excellent, service was great. Not only it is a great place for a casual dinner but it is also great for events.

The Tuna has an excellent preparation and is one of our favorites. The sweet potato fries are also very good. The wine list is reasonable and the outdoor seating under the trees is idyllic.

I had an absolutely incredible experience here. Undoubtedly top notch service, food, wine, and ambiance, I must highly recommend this establishment to any with a cultured palate.
