9/26/2017 UPDATE: So I have to agree with Cynthia Trues review. The original owners packed up and went back to China with their fortunes they earned while in America running this restaurant. Unfortunately, all of the authentic cooking went with them. None of the dishes are the same. Bland, flavorless and overpriced now. I dont think a small hidden place like this will survive. I havent been back in months and I use to go there at least once a week. Sad days.... +++++++++++++ORIGINAL REVIEW+++++++++++ This place is a GEM of a place. Best Chinese food you will have anywhere! And cheap too! Where can you get a whole plate of homemade pan fried dumplings for $6.00? I could come here and just eat the appetizers. Everything is good and the service is good. The place is full of patrons who look like they know what good Chinese food should be, so I take my cue from that. If the Asian community comes to patronize this place, so will I. Ive been eating here since they opened their doors and there is not a Chinese restaurant that can come close to authentic Chinese food anywhere in this area. You will love this place if you want authentic Chinese food.

Changed hands 9 months to a year ago. Wonderfully authentic deeply flavored Chinese meals including multiple lamb and pork specialties are no longer available. Sauces are now fairly unflavorful and unmemorable. Even Mushu is mostly egg. An elegant spicy chicken dish is now made of chicken wings chopped in thirds and coated in the sauce. My review from 1 to 2 years ago no longer holds. They are interested in cheap fast food and they make it. I ate with my daughters last night and none of us were impressed with any of it. I threw the leftovers away today. Wheelchair accessible. Handicapped parking close.

As a military veteran I was exposed to a number of Asian countries in those years. My girl friend is from Taiwan and we eat here weekly. You will find the food authentic, food preparation and selections more than adequate , and price unbelievable. Lunch for TWO runs around $13.00. If you are interested in true authentic foods from Taiwan this a a great place to try.

Very authentic Shanghainese cuisine, the husband and wife owners are very hospitable and accommodating, we have grown up in Hong Kong, we are more discerning, we asked them for less oil, and they cooked it with as we liked without sacrificing taste, as authentic as their counterpart in San Gabriel, our new favourite restaurant!!!

2nd time been here, and last visit. I mean its quite a deal for the lunch special pricing, but thats the only reason for 2 stars, other than that, the quality of the entrees that cone with the meal is not worth even discussing. Its the sauce, due to lack of flavor. Something is definitely wrong.

Ordered kung po chicken to go. Took about 10-15 minutes which wasnt too terrible but expected faster. Lots of food for money but there were no veggies in my Kung po and it tasted bland not spicy. Maybe its a bad dish from them but doubt Ill be back with all the other choices in the area.

I took my Girlfriend here and she is a native Hong Kong resident and we ordered the Chinese Squash and dumplings and it was excellent. The food is very tasty and original. They cater to both American and Chinese having English and a special Chinese only menu.

Meager food quantity served with small plates @ higher prices. Owner couple and waitress talked very loudly. Low class cheap interior, bad lightings, horrible decor.....

Literally the best fried rice Ive ever had in my life and awesome noodles too. The orange chicken is super bomb. The spicy short ribs are outstanding.

Really tasty food that is open relatively late for the area. Service was friendly if a little slow. I would recommend Shanghai Garden to a friend.
