I have never written a review about a restaurant, but this dining disaster could not go unmentioned. My friend and I had never been to Koisan and I can tell you, we definitely will NEVER go back. We wasted 2 hours and over $80 between us last week on barely mediocre sushi in what was the rudest restaurant experience wed ever had. The staff was completely condescending and inhospitable, and while we understand it is a locals place (made painfully clear by the sushi chef when his response when we asked him to tell us about some of the ambiguously named sushi rolls on the menu was, with a roll of the eyes, "we dont have anything that says that...everything is good. look around"). Really? Apparently they dont care that they have new patrons trying them out since their smug confidence comes from the regulars filling up the sushi bar. You can get much fresher fish and be treated like a human being at a much better price elsewhere - dont bother with this place.

Nice sushi restaurant in Orange. Came here over lunch since I was in the area and order a few nigiri sushi at the bar. Service was great and the chef was very nice. This was our first and probably only time here. Chefs and hostess very friendly, but the sushi was plain and nothing to rave about for $9/roll. The rolls were very small,plain, and had no sauce. Ive been to much better places which were more reasonably priced. I might return if desperate for sushi after 9pm like it was this first time we decided to try it.

My wife rates sushi places by their chirashi bowls - she loves it here. I rate shushi places on overall experience, quality of food and service - I concur with my wife. The decor is also a plus. The food is presented very well and the sushi and sashimi are fresh and well proportioned. We came for a late lunch and will be returning for dinner soon.

I have been coming to Koisan for over 15 years. The new chefs Ken and Andy are excellent. They take pride in selecting high quality fish and there culinary skills are amazing. I really enjoyed the sushi and the whole experience. The whole staff at Koisan treat you very well and are very grateful for the opportunity to serve you.

This used to be my favorite place to eat but the owner passed and now its closed because there was no will made out and family thinks money is more important than what the owners wishes would have been. Sorry to say I am extremly bummed out about this and hope they can pull their heads out and get it to gether again .

Always love their happy hour good food and good prices. However our last visit it took 15 minutes to get a seat when there were two other tables occupied in the entire restaurant. And the food was not up to usual par on this visit. It used to be my go-to place but dont think well be going back anytime soon.

The falafels here are very flavorful! the guy who makes them hands out samples while you wait for the order. Lots of food for lunch, the baklava was delicious too! The are can be quite sketcy it is the tenderloin after all. But this is one of the few spots that I dont mind walking to get my falafel fix.

I come here pretty often and the service is great. They are attentive but not too chatty, which I prefer. They will come ask how everything is going then take away your empty dishes. Im also not the biggest fan of sushi so my go to roll is the Unagi Lovers. This place can get packed so expect a wait!

Nori, Sam and Leo - are the three muskateers of sushi. Try the sashimi salad - salmon, albacore and octopus. Kids favorite - is the cruncyh roll - with orange countys favorite - secret sauce. Koisan scores a perfect 10!

This little gem is a bit tricky to find because it is in a strip mall that is dimly lit. The food is delicious. Try the Baked Alaska (sushi)! It is amazing.
