Stayed at the Metro Hotel June 24-26, 2015 in the Bambi Airstream trailer and *LOVED iT!* Room enough for two & just the right amount of pillows. (I say this in response to the reviews that felt there were too many pillows!) ;) Bed was quite comfortable & stereo had surprisingly good sound quality. Kitchen is stocked with plates, glassware, cooking utensils so you could easily "eat in" if you chose & Whole Foods & Trader Joes are right in town. The refrigerator is good size, but freezer is small, so my tip would be to check it before buying ice cream that might not fit! Great coffee & pastries in the cafe. Pleasant indoor/outdoor public spaces in hotel. Tips around town: theres a music venue (you cant miss the marque) Cucina Paradiso as well as several other appealing restaurants, and you might find something interesting at the "Thrifty Hippy!" Would definitely stay here again. Thank you for your hospitality, Art, Kevin, & staff!

Be careful when dealing with this hotel and be sure to read the fine print!!! We had booked to stay here about 9 months prior to an event in the area and were surprised when our credit card was charged on the following bill (9 months before our stay). Three months later our event times changed and we no longer needed the room. Upon calling to cancel (6 months in advance) we were told cancellation is only accepted by email and that we needed to write "a story" about why we needed to cancel. Oh, and dont forget the $10 cancellation fee. When we asked to speak with a manager there was not one available and the staff did not know when they would be in for us to call back. If canceling is this much of a hassle what will it take to get the room cleaned? Scary thought!

Centrally located, quirky interior, funky employees in the best sense of the word & delightful rooms. We originally booked one of the Bambi trailer/room but switched when the opportunity for a room w/ deep clawfoot tub arose. The bubble bath that was provided sealed the deal! The bed was very comfy, loved the down comforter, beautiful duvet cover, pillows had just the right squish factor & morning coffee was superb. Metro was by far the most fun place we stayed from LA to Eugene OR. Bravo! P.S. I think I left my container of huge organic blueberries in the bathroom after washing them...I hope one of you took them & ate them!

When I first heard they had Airstream trailers to rent it sounded a bit sketchy however the Airstream trailers are brand new and are super clean and in excellent shape. The front awnings are out and they come equipped with fake grass and pink flamingos. The interior is set up and very modern and luxurious. Try them out its kind of a fun way to spend the night. Makes me consider trading in my travel trailer for an Airstream. The owner whose name is Art really cares about his property and his service. If theres even the slightest thing wrong with your stay and make sure you talk to him immediately and he will fix it right.

My 64 year old mom, who is a first grade teacher, and her two friends who are also teachers, stayed here the weekend of my wedding and they were accused of stealing a picture frame and a pillow. She found out because the owners tried to charge over $1200 on her credit card without notifying her why. Luckily her credit card company noticed the suspicious activity and denied the charges. We tried to talk to them but they were horrible and very rude. I will never recommend this place to anyone again. Which is unfortunate because I work in the wedding industry and people ask me all the time where they should stay.

We stayed here for a night during a road trip along the Central Coast. We stayed in one of the Airstreams as something different and for a fun experience. The inside of the Airstream was decorated nicely and the bed was very comfortable. Some of the issues we had were there were lots of ants in the Airstream, as well as in various places inside. The breakfast we had in the morning was delicious, but we wished there were a few more options besides just crepes and coffee (they also had a space for bread, but it was gone by 9am). Overall, we had a good experience, and with a few tweaks, this place could be a real gem.

We live in Sacramento. Had day long conference in Marin County on Saturday, thought wed get up early and go. At last minute decided to go to Marin the night before and not have to make a long drive. Ended up in Petaluma at about 5pm and drove by a modern Sheraton on the way in that looked fine. Googled hotels and saw the Metro and checked it out. Looked funky, I wasnt sure at first but my wife was game. Turned out to be the most charming, friendly place weve stayed for quite some time. Like a european pensione. Unpretentious, funky, totally cool. Very non-Sheraton. I am very glad we found it.

I really like the Metro hotel-- every year or so I have a reason to go to Petaluma (pick fruit, be a foodie, etc) and even though I live in the bay area I like to stay overnight at the Metro hotel. Its really cute, they have free french crepes for breakfast (and pour over coffee) and the rooms are nice. A change from the boring chain motels, its fun to stay at the Metro. I have never stayed in the air stream rooms - as they are usually booked up but next time I plan to be in Petaluma I will plan ahead and reserve that room. The owners are friendly and you really feel at home when you stay there.

Adored our stay at the Metro Hotel! We stayed in the newest Airstream. Our family felt it was a real treat. We are from just outside the Bay Area - so this was a small weekend get away but we felt so far from home. The atmosphere really lends itself to that European feel. It made us long to go to Paris again. The daughter of the owner was a bright and enthusiastic young girl who brought so much joy to my four year old son. We enjoyed talking to the owners and the crepes in the morning are a nice touch. We look forward to our next stay here.

My husband and I have stayed at The Metro Hotel a few times, and it has been wonderful! Though we live in the county, it is our staycation get away in Petaluma. We feel like we are far from home, very reminiscent of when we lived in Europe. The rooms are comfortable and so artfully decorated, breakfast scrumptious, and staff very accommodating and helpful. We highly recommend this hotel and its proximity (walking distance) to downtown Petaluma. Thank you for creating a sweet, European vacation so close to home. We will be back soon!

Quirky/eclectic French themed hotel with both traditional rooms and Airstream trailers for rental. Staff was very friendly. Facilities are a little dated (rusty sink and peeling paint on the walls) but overall was clean and well maintained. Breakfast was provided in the form of finely ground pour over Peets coffee and crepes with Nutella and jam. Bicycles (both electric and not) are available for guest usage. We enjoyed our two night weekend stay very much, would stay again.
