What they dont tell you on the website is that this place is not the least bit like a Tea Room. A Tea Room is a sweet and gracious little space where one can have a relaxing bite to eat. This is not that. Its loud and entirely un-relaxing. Its not even really a cafe, as you cant just take a table here, first you have to wait in line to order. So if you are meeting a friend, as I was, your friend cant wait at a nice little table, or anywhere, she will have to stand around until you arrive. Then you both have to wait in a long line. You cant have your coffee and look at the menu in a leisurely fashion, you have to stand in line first and order your food. Only then have you earned the right to look around for a table. No table available when you emerge from the line with your number? Tough. You get to stand around and wait some more, hoping someone will leave. Did I mention this place is very un-relaxing? The one thing that was very good here was the cafe latte. Served in a pretty bowl, it was quite decent. Do not order the eggs benedict. Not only is the hollandaise boring and tasteless, the eggs are served, not on a toasted english muffin, not on toast, but on top of unwarmed biscuits. Awful.

Was in Sanoma for Bottlerock Festival over the past weekend. We came here for breakfast TWO days in a row. We never are repeat back to back customers (this was a first). Everything about the Tea Room is on point: Cozy atmosphere Fresh local food that is consitently well prepared Short wait times Outside seating Espresso is quality and made correctly Orange juice is so fresh it hurts Service was friendly and prompt Beware of the huge sized cappuccinos and lattes Keep on doing what youre doing Tea Room Cafe. We we surely be back to have breakfast again soon!

One of my favorite places for breakfast in Petaluma. My personal favorite dish is the Maddies mix scramble, but Ive yet to have a dish on the menu that didnt taste great. The coffee is some of the best in town, both brewed and espresso. Yes, the wait is about 20-30 minutes from the time you get in to the time you eat, and they dont take credit cards, but the outstanding food and coffee definitely make up for these minor issues. It wouldnt be crowded if it was bad!

Love this place. It is a tad on the expensive side and they only take cash but the food is worth it and the staff is wonderful. I had to take 3 months off work because of a surgery I had and would come in a couple times a week. They let me sit and read and drink tea for as long as I wanted and were always on hand to bring me more hot water when I ran out. 2 years later I still come in as often as I can and bring all my friends.

Nice ambiance and food was pretty good and the prices were reasonable. The entire time we were seated there were more tables waiting for food than had food. The person taking orders at the counter was using a sharpee pen (weird) and worked slow. If you dont mind the wait it a reasonable option. Juevos Rancheros were bad, too much verde sauce and beans lacked flavor. Griddle items are a much better choice.

My daughter and I go here for breakfast on the weekend as often as possible. The food is always great, portions are generous, and they have delicious gluten-free pancakes (a short stack is more than I can eat). The people are warm and friendly - even when its packed. It gets crowded, so head out early if its a weekend. Its close to town, so you can walk off breakfast while you explore downtown Petaluma.

Cute cafe with a wide selection of breakfast foods and drinks. Really enjoyed the home made raspberry preserve served with the walnut toast included with the chorizo scramble. Very friendly staff and although the place was very crowded during brunch people were friendly enough to share the communal table. Also located in a quaint downtown Petaluma where you can stroll off your full tummy.

I love the salmon toast! Did you know they also have individual items on the menu for $1 each? You can get eggs and toast for your kiddo for 2 dollars! The staff is always friendly and genuine. I forgot that they were cash only on my last trip in and they were SO accommodating. We love the Tea Room and its great for kids because its typically busy and a little noisy :)

This is the best brunch place in the greater Bay Area, and believe me, Ive tried nearly all of them. Sadly, we currently live almost two hours away from here, but whenever were passing through the area, we time our trip to get here for brunch. Exceptional in every way. Above all, do not neglect to try their mascarpone toast with strawberries and honey.

Really great food, but one of the noisiest restaurants ive been in. Noise from the kitchen was particularly bad, but also the floors are slate? and chairs sound like nails across a chalkboard. Acoustics very hard and bouncy. Could be a much more pleasant experience with a little attention to the noise levels.

Oh, too bad. Owner ship changed, and the new people must not be paying attention. The same menu as before is being poorly prepared, and they cant figure out how to make a latte that tastes.... well, like a latte. What a loss. I hope they get on track, because it used to be one of my favorites.

I try and eat here as much as I can. Its always a filling breakfast that holds me all day. BIG slabs of bread for toast is so simple but shows they make the extra effort. Food is fresh and the orange juice is real. Make sure to bring CASH or your walking to the ATM. A local hot spot for sure.

If you want to come to a place where the workers are good looking, this is the place. The food made me think "Wow, this is how food is supposed to taste like!" Heavenly pancakes melted in my mouth; a light and custard consistency with yummy buttery edges. Everything was delicious!

Used to be four stars. Although they ran out of all the best specials & pastries early. They had a great pastry chef for awhile. Glasses & utensils are sort of serve yourself & can be less than spotless. I hope they sort things out. it used to be a favorite.

Absolutely fantastic. Quirky, relaxed, artsy atmosphere, impeccable list of loose teas, high quality java, fresh squeezed juice, delicious food, and baked goods that make my mouth water, even as I write this review. Makes me wish I lived in Petaluma!

Staff was nice and friendly. However, it took over 30 mins to serve a non-complicated breakfast. Restaurant was about half full at the time. Also, you should get a means to accept credit/debit cards.

Best breakfast in Petaluma. Plenty of options for vegetarians. I believe they are still cash only which is the only bummer, so bring cash just in case. Always recommend out-of-towners to eat here.

Straight forward, elegant simplicity. Friendly staff, excellent excellent food far better than much "fancier" outfits. My new "go-to" breakfast joint. Highly recommend, cash only be ready.

I had the pork sandwich with chutney - truly in the top 10 sandwiches I have eaten all time. Staff was friendly and the location is just a little off the beaten path. Highly recommend.
