Matsuri is awesome. Best sushi in Pasadena. Every time we eat at Matsuri we leave totally satisfied. The family who owns this restaurant is amazing, friendly and full of life. The food is not the cheapest in town but full of flavor. We tend to order from the sushi bar as we love traditional sushi. Try the green salad it is delicious. Also you must order the black cod (served hot). It is a specialty there and goes down almost like a desert. If you get a chance check it out. If you like spicy ask for some wasabi oil! Yummy. Matsuri crushes Sushi if Naples and all of the other local japanese places is Pasadena. 132

There is so much to eat in Pasadena and this is, bar none, my favorite. It is run by the sweetest Japanese family and they are always warm and welcoming. The sushi is fresh, delicious and unpretentious (unlike Sugarfish, even though I like it). Im surprised it isnt packed during lunch hours; an absolute hidden gem.

the first dish i ordered from this restaurant was the nabeyaki udon, and to this day all other establishments have failed to knock it off my number one spot for nabeyaki. although there are not a lot of noodle options on the menu, the only one you will need to order is the nabeyaki. delicious!

Very friendly staff, and great sushi prepared fresh at the sushi bar. The pricing, however, seemed high for the amount of food. Sushi ran about $6 on average for two pieces. My ticket came to about $23 and I didnt feel full at all. TLDR: great sushi, but come ready to drop some cash.

This place is great! The fish in the sushi and sashimi was really fresh and the miso soup is very tasty. The dragon roll was delicious! Service was friendly. There are a lot of options for those who know sushi and those who dont, with reasonable prices.

Seems a popular local restaurant. Tried jalapeño tara roll and expected an interesting fusion. But turned up to be a surprise, not good one though

This place gets better and better. It is not Matsuhia or Asanebo, but for sushi in the San Gabriel Valley it is the best..
