Honestly, my family went to this other place across the street and the wait was way too long so we came to wafu. I felt really sketchy coming in and I really didnt trust it since it was like next to a gas station and like some other closed shops. I really didnt want to eat there. Adding to that, there was no one there! But after some people came in and the food was actually good. Nice job changing my mind!!!

My wife and I have been coming here for years. Have always had great fresh sushi and excellent service. The melty roll is our favorite. The place sits in a small strip mall and doesnt look like much from the outside. We never would have tried without the recommendation of a neighbor several years ago. Fantastic sushi awaits inside. Highly recommended.

I always make sure I dine at Wafu Sushi when I am in Irvine for work training, the sushi bar is perfect for a solo diner, right in front of all the action! Always great fresh menu items, whether it is the super good super california rolls, samurai burrito or any of the nigiri, only place youll find better sushi is a couple time zones away at Tsukiji.

Food is amazing here! Love to eat sushi and I come here all the time. Try the philadelphia roll or the sexy roll. I always get those two. Also try the slick roll. That roll was named after a friend of mine. (slick is his nickname) The roll is awesome. Best sushi place Ive ever eaten at! A must go to place!

Excellent food. Excellent tea. Excellent, friendly service. Loved the tempura udon - the broth was flavorful, the tempura shrimp and vegetables were light and crispy, and the udon was perfectly, satisfyingly chewy. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Probably the best bowl of udon Ive ever had.

Im no sushi aficionado, but this is hands down the best I have ever had! I truly fell in love with sushi after coming here. It was months ago that I went here, and I still think about it. If I am ever in the area again, I will make a point of coming here.

My husband and I love to eat at Wafu, one of the best Japanese restaurant in Orange County. They are own by Japanese and run as such. Now days too many Japanese restaurants are own and operated by other Asian and its not the same!

Been checking out SUSHI places here in COSTA MESA and I can say that WAFU is pretty good. So far Ive tried california roll and crunchy roll lunch special and its great! Have to try their famous teriyaki chicken. I say try it out!!!!

Ive only been here once so far, but I plan to be back. My food was very good, as was the service. This is a relatively small, relaxed, Japanese restaurant - just my kind of place. Only minutes from Orange County John Wayne airport.

I live nearby so I am here all the time. Its definitely my favorite place to go in the immediate area for sushi. My favorite roll is the yellowtail booster roll and you have to try the red bean mochi ice cream.

We ordered the uni today, and it already went bad. The taste is the nastiest weve ever had. The restaurant did not do anything about it. The quality of food and the service attitude is really questionable.

The samuri burrito is one of the best rolls Ive ever had. The Fuji #2 and #3 are not on the menu, but are amazing. The Fuji #3 is the spicy one, my favorite.
