I cannot speak to the authenticity of The Shows food, but I can honestly say it tastes less "Americanized" than a lot of other Chinese food I have had recently. There is a spice that I cannot recognize, but is very tasty. Its not tangy, but it is savory without being sickly sweet. The eggs were cooked until they were firm, but not dried out. Every Chinese Crepe is made only when ordered. The ribs were juicy and smokey in the rice bowl. I agree that the menu is currently very limited at this date. I understand, however, that when a new venture starts, it must depend upon the money coming in to sustain it. Having a large menu is a very large risk. Too much food waste means lost profit and no expansion. This food is absolutely worth the price on each plate and portions are appropriate. The eating area is very clean, the counters are wiped frequently and workers appear to follow good sanitation standards. No coughing on food, etc. The service is currently very helpful and polite. Anyone who does not understand the menu is given a quick "tour." I am only slightly concerned that the food must be described in Americanized terms. The one huge problem I see is the website. Links that go nowhere, a menu that is not understandable, and a Facebook page that is completely ignored. This needs to change very quickly. I will be coming back. The food is worth the price and it is a comfortable, clean place to eat.

As a new restaurant, the Show has a long way to go. The main entrees, the rice bowls, are quite costly for the quantity of food. They consist of about 2 tablespoons of entree w/about 2 cups of rice for nearly $7. The cauliflower entree was insipid and tasteless. The shredded pork was OK, but not very spicy as asked for (true, this is Oregon), and only contained about 2 shreds of pork. One can get better and more food for about the same price at Safeway. Having had Chinese food on 3 continents, including in Hong Kong and China, I found this a very poor example of Chinese cuisine. If its an effort to provide modest (perhaps authentic?) food for students, it would have been far better to open a traditional Chinese noodle house. Corvallis does have better options such as the Queens Chopstick for good, authentic Chinese food as well as options adjacent to the OSU campus. I would like to see an establishment like this succeed, to increase variety in this small city. But the Show will need to up its game greatly. On an environmental note, the styrene containers used for carry-out are not recyclable. Similar containers are available, such as those used at the First Alternative Coop, which are.

Being Chinese, the food reminded me of what my parents cook back home. It tastes very authentic and nothing like Americanized Panda Express or Safeway Deli Chinese food that no Chinese person would accept as authentic. After reading the negative reviews, it seems like people are expecting a Panda Express and think its bad because it isnt one. The show gives you more rice and in my experience, the same size entree portions than Panda Express, but for a similar (little cheaper) price with authentic Chinese flavors. I got the tofu and the braised beef entrees the first time I went, and on subsequent visits I have tried to order the tofu because it was so good but they ran out because it is so popular. They have a list of entrees up front by the glass when you order, so hopefully that means that the entrees arent permanent and that they will add more/update the menu periodically. I will be going back many times during my time in Corvallis.

I dont like disparaging a new business, but... Purposely waited until they were established for several months, then decided to try it a couple weeks ago. I wish I would have waited longer. I got the crepe, thinking it was one of their specialties, and I love crepes. I have no idea what it was stuffed with, some kind of uber sweet deep fried donut something? I had 2 bites, and tossed it in the garbage. The wife had the ribs, and tho she said they were tolerable, she didnt finish the small order. They were coated I mean COATED with sugar, worse than Panda Express. Why anyone puts sugar on meat is beyond my comprehension, but I guess its an Asian thing, tho - my wife happens to be Asian, so.......? Sorry but nope, it was a complete waste of money when you cant even choke down what you are served.

I love this place, and Ive only been there once. Im dying to try their signature sweet and sour ribs, because Ive been wanting to try some other things before going for the thing everyone is talking about. As a child, I had a Korean neighbor. And if you want to know what authentic Asian food tastes like, my neighbors knew how to cook it. The real deal. Eating at The Show even though its not Korean, it is indeed authentic Chinese tasting food. So who do you listen to when it comes to reviews about authentic tasting Chinese food, me, or someone named Kuang or Xue or someone named Matthews. A person named Matthews probably thinks Taco Bell is authentic Mexican food.

This is true authentic Chinese food. I lived in China for 2 years and this is as close as I have come to real Chinese food in 5he states. Their hand wrapped fried dumplings are among the best I have had. It may be too Chinese for some, which is the only thing I can think of to explain poor ratings. Their restaurant is clean, the staff is super friendly, and the prices reflect the serving size. Stick with safe choices like orange chicken or Mongolian beef if you are not too familiar with authentic Chinese cuisine and you will be fine. This is definitely the best Chinese place in town.

Definitely worth a try, I love every single entree they have to offer, especially the sweet and sour pork ribs and braised beef with potato! The Chinese fried noodles are definitely my second go too, although with many requests I hear they are adding chicken entrees soon! I love how friendly the workers are, as weird as somethings on the menu sound, I have tried every single item and with out a doubt its definitely my favorite place to eat! Its not your usual food like Panda Express considering its authentic but its definitely worth your money and a visit!

This is my second time to The Show and I had to go a second time because I couldnt believe that food could be that delicious. And it was just as good the second time. It was beyond good, it was amazing. The menu is not huge, and its ever changing, but the portions you get are enough that you can save some for later. But I had a hard time saving any because I kept eating till it was all gone. I havent tried their sweet and sour ribs yet, but I hear that is their signature dish, so I guess a third visit is in order.

Tonight was our first time at The Show. The first thing we noticed was that unlike most Chinese restaurants the food here hasnt been completely Westernized. This was a breath of fresh air for us as we like trying new things. I had the Chinese Fried Noodles with spicy sauce and it was delicious. The staff were friendly and polite and were a great help when we first arrived taking the time to explain the menu to us. We will definitely be going back for second helpings.
