The food was disgusting and had such bad service. If I were you, please dont go there. Also, the view could be better. A lot of my friends suggest it to me but I have no intention of going back. I also felt a bad vibe while I was in there. Please dont go, I couldnt have expected worse. The friends I went with also said that the food was disgusting. Did I forget to mention that I had to go to the doctor because the food there was unsanitary? I personally really dont suggest it because I do not want more people going to the doctor and getting sick. I hope my review helped. I gave it one star but it shouldve been zero stars!

Beautiful views of the lake, great live music, but food is pricey and portions are small. My $8 small caesar salad was just a few large leaves and some croutons. BIG markup on that one. The waiter took pity on me and brought me a basket of bread so I could feel somewhat filled. hah. I was dancing and just wanted an appetizer or something light, but not THAT light! The piano player that they had for Thanksgiving dinner last year was magnificent! The dinner on Thanksgiving was delicious and quite a nice experience. Service was prompt and friendly. No attitude.

Loved our experience at The Terrace Room/The Lake Merritt Hotel. We had several drinks (really wide range of choices), I had Mumm champagne and my friend had a single malt scotch) and appetizers- Yum! Bourbon glazed bbq ribs with chunks of tender meat, and the sweet/spicy chicken wings sauce is rich and delicious. Oh and bartenders were so chill, laid back and attentive. Glad I found this place and will be dragging my gal pals there for happy hour. Jennifer

Very good food, the best ambience and view!! The entry is grand like the Ahwanee, the windows in the terrace room are edged in black metal work like you see in New Orleans yet it is a view of beautiful Lake Merritt. My pork chop had a unique mustard sauce, tasty greens and potatoes. Sheila enjoyed the crab cakes. We stayed for the 7pm entertainment; free.

Gorgeous views of the lake, day or night! They have live music almost every evening, and usually dancing. This is one of my favorite spots to dance! Drinks and food are reasonably priced and dancing/music/views are free! Dress up and feel fancy without actually spending much money. Its right near 19th St. Bart too!

My friends and I like to come here for brunch. We generally bring the average age down quite a bit, but you cant beat the views and the food is pretty good. The couple of times Ive been there the menu has changed so I cant speak to a favorite item, but everything Ive tried has been tasty.

The bottomless mimosa brunch is the BEST. Good brunch, great staff and awesome view. I can think of few better ways to spend a Sunday morning. Unless you are going on Superbowl Sunday, make a reservation. Secrets out on this place so youll need one. That said, its worth it.

Its usually the third Thursday evening of each month, 7 to 10, when David Sturdevants SF Medicine Ball Band performs tunes for dancing for youths of all ages. Its a memorable dining/dancing and only in Oakland experience. Feels like dancing on water.

Great view, fun trivia night every other Monday. They used to have this great sriracha mac and cheese. It was very tasty and filling and a good value. They then replaced it with a 16 dollar cheeseburger. BRING BACK THE MAC!
