Ive been going to this deli over the years as my kids have sports at a nearby park. I love to support local businesses and this deli has typically had friendly staff (although mediocre sandwiches....) but will not be returning to this deli. I have never experienced anything like what I experienced today from two young, snarky employees. I ordered a BLT on sliced sourdough. When I saw the lady putting mayo on the bread I asked her if she could please toast the bread and she replied that i had to request that. i told her i didnt know you had to request the bread be toasted as BLTs are standard on toasted bread. https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Cookbook:BLT_Sandwich She got an attitude immediately and said I needed to ask for it, and since i didnt, this was how it would be made (note at this point, there was nothing on this bread but mayo, and to please her customer she couldve simply set the two pieces of bread aside and toasted two slices of fresh bread). So then I got an attitude back and asked how i was supposed to know that i had to request toasted bread for a sandwich that always has toasted sliced bread. The argument spiraled from there as her attitude was completely unacceptable to me. She then offered to put it on the panini press, but at this point after all of her attitude I just wanted to take the sandwich and leave. As she was finishing slapping the rest onto the bread, her coworker came up and said "we just work here" to which I replied that I realize that must be the case because if either of them owned the deli they wouldve just swapped out the bread right away without the argument to please what started out as a very pleasant customer. After the sandwich was wrapped the lady practically threw it to her coworker to set on the other side of the counter. The employees did not give me my sandwich, instead ignored me and started on a new customer who had just walked in (I had already paid for it, or I wouldve walked out long ago) I had to REACH around the register to get it. So childish!!! I left completely floored that they were willing to lose a customer over attitude and two slices of white bread. I will never return. Here by the way is a picture of what I paid a whopping $8.25 for. I dont even think they put all the bacon on there. I will never return. I sincerely hope the owner has more customer service sense then these young employees did.

We have been going to Prima Deli for years. Recently we had a sandwich that was too oily and returned it with one bite removed from it. The owner inspected the sandwich then throw it into the garbage can with an attitude. The person helping me said could we make her another sandwich? He said whatever thats ridiculous and turned his back to me rudely. In complete amazement I told the kid helping me never mind and walked out. Now Prima Deli can add to their list of business accomplishments "thieves ".

Been going here for years and years, all the way from the first generation owner ran it and down to his son when he passed down the business. Always quality sandwiches and fantastic food. It gets busy during lunch but thats expected with any quality deli. Favorites are the prima club, spicy combo, and pesto chicken. I have noticed the staff isnt as friendly on recent visits but not enough to affect the experience. Highly recommend.

Hands down best sandwiches in Redwood City, imo. Lunch time? Expect a line (and for the phone line to be busy, or off the hook, can never tell which...) but also expect the staff to greet and help you out with a smile. Love this place!

Love this place for a good sandwich! One of my favorite delis around, better than a safeway sandwich and better than woodside deli in my opinion... I recommend the NorCal w/ bacon
