Really not impressed. We heard about the notorious lines at this place on the weekend, so we came on a weekday around 10am for breakfast/brunch. We stood at the entrance for a good 15min before anyone even acknowledged we were there, there was no hostess and after I said something to one of the staff members, we were told that the kitchen was backed up and they are not seating anyone. This is a rather dumb concept, why cant customers sit at a table and wait instead of standing in the doorway? Finally got seated and our waiter came to take our drink orders first. I wanted some hot water and when it was brought out the mug was absolutely disgusting, see picture. There was still a hardened coffee ring on the inside of the mug and scratch marks all over. We ordered the egg Benedict, really pricey $14 and it was pretty good, only redeeming point at this place. The Parmesan potatoes on the side were really good. Service was very lacking even on a not so busy weekday. Besides the food, everything else was terrible. Definitely will not be coming back.

-lunch review- Breakfast till 12:30pm on weekends, lunch starts on 11am (weekdays) and 1pm (weekends). Dinner opens till 9-10pm, depending on the dates, Parking is minimal, free parking in lot (approx 5 spots). Tough when its busy! They are participating Newport Restaurant Week ($20 lunch, $30 dinner). Service is great, A+! Fried green tomatoes - little too crusty, 3 pieces (2 stars) Truffle Parmesan Fries - tasty! Shoestrings Fries with bits of Parmesan cheese on top = 5 stars French Dip: Bun is soft and chewy. Meat is cooked medium well, unable to choose how you want your meat cooked. Au jus and Horseradish sauce in side = 3 star Meatloaf sandwich, hearty and very flavorful with varies herbs = 4 stars Plenty of salads (fresh greens or Cesar) on the sandwiches, able to upgrade for Fries and Onion Rings for a minimal price. You can substitute a variety of things without too much trouble with the servers. Looking forward to come back for breakfast!

Let Google Maps navigate you to Eat Chow, as it isnt the easiest place to locate when youre running down PCH. Eat Chow is a little spot, probably doesnt sit more than twenty-five people, which is nice. But it isnt a quiet or private space, it was very loud on a Saturday for brunch, and its a bit cramped if you arent in one of the booths. We had already had a small breakfast a couple hours before so we were stopping in for a couple drinks and a small bite to get us to lunch. Their menu is split between new takes on American and modern breakfast. We split just a basic breakfast combo of eggs, sausage, and pancakes, which was cooked perfectly just as youd expect. And for our libations, we enjoyed a mimosa sampler and a michelada. The mimosas were good, weighed more towards the champagne than the other juices and michelada was excellent, a tad spicier than is typical. You do pay a premium price for what you get.

Had dinner here with my aunt who is visiting from out of town. Excellent! The service was prompt and our server was knowledgeable about the menu and wine list. We shared a bottle of Argentinian Malbec, which was lovely. She had the crispy beef tacos, but subbed corn tortillas for flour, they were very filing and tasty ,served with black beans. I had the BBQ duck enchiladas and they were DELICIOUS! So good! Served with a side of mixed greens in the house made Green Goddess dressing which was so good I asked if they sold it in bottles. They dont :( Overall our dinner was extremely enjoyable, and I will definitely be coming back for the duck enchiladas again!

Came into Newport knowing very little about where and what. Stayed at the Newport channel inn and the desk clerk recommended eat chow. So i checked the reviews and saw mostly positive results. Well...i gave 5 stars for our experience. Megan our server is fantastic at her job. She asked us if we had any questions and was able to answer without hesitation. The food was amazingly tasteful! Best meal Ive ever eaten out. 3 amigos was my choice and the coffee crusted steak we also had the prawns as an appetizer. Large servings enough to fill my appetite. I highly recommend Eat chow. Service, above best quality food and a comfortable atmosphere.

Delicious food. Ive eaten here a few times and can only give high praise for everything. The Reuben, the Duke bourbon burger, the salmon curry tacos, the Cuban sandwich, and especially the mac and cheese and gooey butter cake. Outstanding, exotic, strong flavors. Some flavors can be a bit overwhelming, so be aware when you order if youd prefer a milder version. I order easy horseradish on the Reuben and easy blue cheese on the bourbon burger. The salmon tacos with curry slaw are totally unique and delicious.

This is a great little spot to eat! They serve a variety of food here to please everyone. We ordered the truffle fries, mussels, the chow burger, and the salmon burger. All were amazing! The fries are thin and crisp, which you rarely see and work perfect! The burgers are unique but not outrageous and all the flavors combine greatly! If you are in the area this is a great place to visit!

This is not a Chinese restaurant, but the food is a somewhat random mix. The sangria was good. The artichoke appetizer wasnt anything special. I had the 3 enchiladas, which were good and filling - leaving leftovers to take home. Also tried the parmesan truffle fries, which were good but nothing special. The parking situation wasnt ideal, and theres not much else around.

!!!EXECELLANT!! I love this place. I go to both places and the food is consistent. Whoever is making up those recipes is a genius, with a "G" my personal favorite is Huevos Rancheros. So yummy. The Quesadillas are super too. I love the way the egg oozes out and gets on everything. Mouth watering. Go there! You will fall in love Millie, Newport Beach

The front desk greeted us with a smiles and jokes as well as a delicious chocolate chip cookie. Angel and Diego really made us feel like we were not only guest, but friends. Later during my stay I witnessed another guest yelling at the front desk over something small and the guest agents were able to stay calm and resolve..

1st time coming here and I have to say that I really liked it ! The atmosphere is very energetic and the staff is very customer service oriented. The only thing some people wont like is the wait to get your food after you order it , on the menu it says they take a little longer since everything is fresh and made to order

Although the building and the ambiance is great, the main entrees and deserts were sub-par. However, the appetizers were average to great (least to greatest, in order: Cheesy Tots, Onion Rings and the delicious artichokes). They had friendly service. I likely would not eat here again.

My wife and I eat at Eat Chow last night, it was great! I had the swordfish and my wife had the duck enchiladas. Both had ample food, great flavoring and a good presentation. Eat Chow is not a fancy place, but either are the prices. Great food, great service and good prices!! Try it!

Great food, laid back but upscale feel, friendly service. Holy moley the BBQ burger ($13 and comes w/ delicious side Cesar salad) was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Fair price for the quality. Its been a while since I liked a burger enough to write a review!
