The ambiance is lovely, the waiter was great. But everything else was terrible. The hostess was rude, the first waitress that took our order was barely even polite. Then there was the food. It wasnt real Thai food. The Mussaman curry wasnt even the right type of curry for what they claimed the dish to be. The meat used was grossly fatty and poor cuts were used. The Garlic Beef was nothing special at all. Thai food is one of our favorites, so we jumped at a chance to try something new, unfortunately to say this was disappointing is an understatement. Overall it left everyone at dinner highly unsatisfied. It was a horrible experience. Not a good value for the money.Will not be back again.

The food is good but for such small portions it takes way too long for your order to come out. My family and I are here for Mothers Day because my mother wanted to try it out but we waited for about 30 minutes for our appetizers to come out. upon finishing our appetizers it was another 30 minutes for our entrees to arrive. Personally, it was way too long for our family to wait, but the food was good. We got to the restaurant at 7 and got our entrees at 8.

We have come back to Chang Thai Bistro a couple of times. The soups are very good and served hot. The wait staff is fast and friendly. One note ...they could use a lesson on timing. When you serve a course please dont bring the second course out a moment later to sit and get cold. The shrimp was some of the best Ive had. Plump, sweet and firm. The Spicy Beef Salad could use a bit more sauce. The décor is peaceful and soothing. Well be back.

They have a clear broth soup that is sort of like Tom Kah Kai (sorry if I spelled that wrong), but without the coconut milk; BEST SOUP EVER! Extra plum juicy shrimp, plenty of tasty lemongrass, and the broth is clear and delicious!!!! The staff is always friendly and the food is really good. Honestly, though, that soup is what makes this place a favorite of mine. You GOTTA try it!

Just got done eating here.... -__-" pad Thai was the only thing popping. All in all dont waste your hard earned money here... our server checked in once with us.... the check took 25 mins.... dont let them box your food they will just lose it.... all of this and they werent busy to have taken this long. Try any other great restaurants at old town Monrovia. Youre warned, Alpha

Was there today - group of 7 people. Despite being on time for our reservation, no big table was ready. Server who brought the food didnt know who had ordered what and I had to wait for 20 min. for my order of the lunch menue, while the rest of the group was close to be done eating their dishes. Regardless they charged us 18% service charge. Will not repeat.

Great Thai food & customer service. Food was delicious and lean. They didnt add msg or a fully load sauce to to their food. Food taste great by their recipe. I didnt need to make myself jug down a gallon of water later. Love how they have out door seating and Im able to bring my dog with me to enjoy my dinner :) definitely come back here again!

Awesome drink choices and great tasting Thai iced tea. My girlfriend and I came to have dinner here. We ordered crispy avocado rolls which were so tasty. I got combo fried rice cause Im a typical guy still delicious my girlfriend got noodle plate which was amazing. I highly suggest this place and 31 degrees around the corner for drinks.

OK not great. Soft shell crab was little more than shell and batter. Pad Thai was very disappointing, "fresh" is the last word that I would use to describe the taste. Very low quality food served in nice setting with largely good service. Tried eating here a few times and just cant find something that is truly "good"

This is by far the best Thai food Ive had in Southern California, from Monrovia to Long Beach. I have friends in Long Beach who travel an hour to come eat Thai food here. The food is delicious, the staff is friendly, atmosphere is romantic and relaxing, and the prices are super reasonable. LOVE. THIS. PLACE.

Overall they have a great selection of dishes, price is not bad considering the amount of food your getting. Atmosphere is very relax, great ambience. Im not an expert on thai food,but the flavor profile seems very authentic to me. Smells great,looks great, and taste great. Really nice restaurant

My husband and I lunch here weekly and have always had great food and drink. You cannot Go wrong with any of their menu items, but I particularly like their Spicy Beef Salad when you want a light and tasty meal.

The food tastes fresh here. Service is quick. Menu seems somewhat confusing and repetitive, but will satisfy those that like lots of choices. As for authenticity, I cant judge that. Ive never been to Thailand.

Love the curry here. I wish this place had a better bar set up. Either way food is great. No big surprises with menu variations. Plenty of parking in the back area. Cool date spot. Patio seating a plus!

Its a nice friendly environment but the food wasnt so good expect beter. Didnt like that they beg for a tip you have the right up give a tip.Never going to eat there again.

Good food for a good price. Crispy basil with shrimp is a good sweet appetizer. Try larb tofu for a spicy and tangy appetizer.
