My mother, sisters and I are staying in a hotel just down the street from the Spaghetti Bender. On the way back to our motel from the beach, we passed by and looked at the menu. We decided to try it out for dinner and we were so glad we did. The atmosphere is cozy, warm and inviting. We learned that we could split any entree, pay an extra $5.00 and get soup AND salad with our halved entree. The minestrone soup is so good. Very different than any other I have had as it is a chicken stock base rather than a tomato base. It was served with grilled garlic bread. Then came the salad dressed in its own special dressing. I was happily surprised to find capers and chunks of real avocado in the salad. My sister and I split the chicken Parmesan and it was perfect with the soup and salad. We both got plenty to eat and split the $21.00 check. Our waiter, Adam was attentive, friendly but not too in your face. We had great service from Adam. All in all this is a great place to eat. We would go again. Try it, you will not regret it.

The Bender is a great place for any occasion! Bring your family for a birthday, graduation, anniversary or reunion celebration. I always go there for my birthday for the wonderful food and complementary birthday spamoni ice cream. Yum! It has a relaxing outdoor patio with gorgeous plants and comfortable seating. The patio is also heated if the nights are too cold. Beer and wine only. Two flat screens make it a good place to watch a game or your favorite night time show, for the servers will change the channel to what ever you want to watch. As mentioned before, the food is wonderful, nothing like it, and all Italian home cooking. The chef, Alfonzo, is great at what he does. He always makes delicious monthly specials. The shrimp specials are sooooo good! Will be back soon!

Had a spaghetti and meatballs and it was delicious and the portion was HUGE. Complimentary garlic bread tasted freshly baked. The place interior was authentic and the staff was super friendly and the general manager Tony came personally check us out if theres something we would need. Arrived to the restaurant just 30 minutes before closing time and they made us feel warmly welcome to enjoy their tasty food and wines, as long as we feel to. Highly recommended.

Dont come here if you expect to be pushed through your meal and dining experience. I took my girlfriend here after seeing the place on my way to work day after day. Nice laid back vibe, with plenty of good food to choose from. Bread and salad make for good filler if youre famished. Entrees are laden w/ garlic, which I have come to expect in my definition of quality Italian food. When you want to take it slow and enjoy your meal, swing on by.

Used to go to this place when it was a small old house nothing special but it became by favorite place. The soup and salad are like no other place. Went back to calif for a visit and took the family. Not quite the same now that it is a big and fancy place but the one thing that was the same is the soup and salad and I hope it never changes.

We are at the hotel next door and ordered a take out. Honestly when I stepped in I thought we should have dined in. The aroma was wonderful and the atmosphere was nice. Got the food to go, we were so satisfied with this meal. Hands down best mozzarella sticks ever! It was the best Italian Ive had in a while.

Spaghetti Bender is a quaint little restaurant in Newport Beach that has the charm of a small cottage or someones house. Everything I have eaten here has been great. The mozzarella app is a mozzarella pancake with marinara sauce on it, definitely start with this you wont regret it. Good wine selection here too.

Me and my husband had dinner here the first night of our vacation. We both had the spaghetti, and it tasted fine. A few hours later we got extremely sick, and ruined our first night out at the beach. We were very disappointed. Staff was just okay. What a waste of our money and precious time in Newport.

Good food, huge portions, but not for parties more than 6. Cozy atmosphere, but can get cramped with a big party. Not very busy on weekdays, and only open for dinner, but their minestrone soup and house salad are an amazing add to all dishes. Pricey, but wonderful for a special occasion.

Four stars, only because I havent been there since the mid 80s. The ambiance made this the go to restaurant for a date. The food was always excellent, the service was exceptional, and they had the best table tossed salad with their secret recipe dressing. Nothing but great memories.

Im thoroughly impressed with this place! The food is excellent, and Im Italian. Definitely get the soup and salad added to your meal, its $8 extra but 2 orders fed 5 of us and we still had soup left over. The minestrone soup is very tasty and the bread, the bread is tremendous.

This is a nice old-fashioned Italian restaurant. The kind of place that the Olive Garden probably modeled itself after back in the day. The food was good, although we were seated in the back with a bunch of loud kids even though the restaurant was mostly empty.

I ordered the Cheese Ravioli in a creamy sauce..it was delicious. The minestrone soup and chopped garden salad with avocado was fresh and tasty. Generous portions from soup to entree. The waiter was very attentive. Will definitely come again soon.

Plenty of food! Ordered the chicken parmigiana with the soup, salad, and bread. About $25 We had enough to split it. Lots of toppings on everything. I would ask for the dressing for the salad on the side unless you like LOTS of dressing.

This place is so cute and warm! I love how theres a bar and seating outside. And the staff was nice. My husband ordered lasagna and I ordered spaghetti. He ended up not liking his, only because it had spinach lol.

One of our regular stops when we are in Newport. Great portion sizes and good food. Service is always good. We do the combo meals and there is enough for two people with some left over. Great ambiance.
