Apparently known as the mini French Laundry La toque is certainly in the same class, except the portions are American French not French. The food is excellent and the service is almost completely impeccable with very minor and occasional infractions: I noticed 2 approaches from the wrong side and an asynchronous dish delivery in a party of four diners eating four courses each. The red meat was prepared exactly properly, of fine cuts, including a mild lamb and tender antelope, with the carpaccio being notably exceptional in a fantastic group. The sea food dishes: Lobster linguini - very good-, the squid ink scallop -masterful- , and himachi -excellent- were all of exceptional quality fish. The Sommelier was able to formulate a rare and novel, but very excellent cocktail on request to vague taste guidelines, and offer helpful suggestions to wine taste requests to fit within the half bottle list as well as curb side education on up and coming wine regions. I am constantly disappointed by Sommelier service but was very pleased here by the red headed female Sommelier whose name I regretfully cannot recall. I would certainly revisit La toque and rank it easily in my top ten fine dining experiences at #3.

This is my first Michelin star experience. First of all, the plates are really tiny, as people were talking about. Each dish is meticulously prepared, and the presentation is nice. La Toque offers a 9 course chef recommended dinner, or a 4 to 5 course build your own type of dinner. The 9 course easily runs you about $250 per person (with wine). I had the 4 course dinner. I ordered a Cappacio (raw beef), duck breast, rib eye steak and a chocolate dessert. I would say the steak is the best, the duck and raw beef was OK. The service was nice, very attentive and polite. There are about 3 people serving us for the night. The total comes to about $250 for 2. Is the food amazing? Probably not. I have had better duck, beef and steak elsewhere. You are mostly paying for the experience.

We went to La Toque, as I had such a great experience there 6 years ago. Michelin star restaurant, known for its wine parings. We ordered the 5 course meal, and chose our courses. The Chefs table was below the counter level of the kitchen so we couldnt see anything except the dirty dish parade from the dining room to the dishwasher. The decor was two brown plastic place mats. the food was just ounces per serving, the wines were unknown and unremarkable short pours, there was not even garnish on some of the dishes, the service was average, and the bill was over the top and accompanied by a 20% service charge, just under $300.00!!!

It was a great dining experience. The staff were very friendly and helped us with an introduction before the start of every new item we tasted. Food was great. Dont be fooled by the quantity. We ordered the vegetable tasting menu and enjoyed every round. Thanks to Maria who was the main person taking care of our table and to the entire staff that supported her. Mr. Propreitor Chef - I really wanted to meet you. I was told that you were spending time with your family on Tuesdays, which is very important. Thank you for the excellent menu on the vegetarian side. Ram Bala

A food runner dropped a dish on my brand new suit. When I received the bill I was shocked that they didnt even comp a desert or the corkage. It was on valentines day and come to find out no one even told the manager. I finally told the manager my self and he said they would cover the dry cleaning bill. I never sent him the bill and I will never reccomend anyone go there. Over priced and service is decent at best. Food is good, but you can get the same food and better svc/management at bank. I reccomend bank over La toque!

So the chef is soooo happy to put goose liver back on the menu, a very cruel way to treat an animal, like these filthy rich sad souls need to make more money, kinda shows who your eating around while there, I personally couldnt be near humans like this. I will either go to a cruelty free restaurant or if Im gonna eat animal, at least buy cruelty free meat, grab a bottle of wine and go home to enjoy....I cant contribute to this place anymore.

My husband and I ate at La Toque when it was located in St. Helena. We had a wonderful evening. There were two seatings, and we went to the early one. We own a winery in the Shenandoah Valley and ordered some extra wine that was not included in the prefixe meal, but we enjoyed ourselves immensely. The meal was served and prepared efficiently. It was leisurely and we had a great time. We are anxious to try it in its new local.

Everything was great until it was time for dessert. 45 min later we get it after I point it out, but only after we waited another 15 min. for cheese, pre-made dessert cake, and the only thing they had to cook was a very small funnel cake. To make it worse they never apologize. interesting note another couple we met at a wine tour stated they had their meal have the long pause before their hen course.

The youthful yet knowledgeable staff made every effort to make our experience memorable. The kitchen is consistent with timing and quality, while the portions are perfectly balanced and adventurous. The modest-contemporary interior is comfortable and clean, with an emphasis on local, in-season ingredient sourcing that inspires me to revisit during times other than wine harvest and crush.

Not worth the money, get into French Laundry if you can for a TRUE "gourmet" experience. La Toque allows people to wear flip flops, jeans, and t-shirts and has a "hotel restaurant" feel to it. Very expensive, $150+/person, but short on the experience...

Food is amazing, ambiance is delightful, its also an awesome venue for wedding receptions! Highly recommend for dinner or a private event in Napa. Westin Verasa is also wonderful! (Photos by JBJ Pictures)

Excellent. Every course was delicious with superb accompanying wines that were very well matched. Quail may have been the best but all were great. Great service a really enjoyable experience

perfect service and a lovely room trump the food which, while interesting, is simply not the main attraction. while you can get in, its not anywhere near the french laundry.

Outstanding menu and wine selection here. However, the portions are quite small and it is very expensive. Great for a night out in Napa when you want to splurge.

Elegant, subdued atmosphere. All staff members committed to maximising the experience. Trust the Somms & Chefs with the pairings. A fantastic Michelin choice.

Love that Ken Frank creativity and hospitality, still a winner. He makes you feel welcome unlike another nearby snooty establishment.

Understated elegance, quiet ambience, bursts of flavor abound. A One-star Michelin, but well above the other one stars nearby.

Food wasnt worthy of a Michelin star, decor was dated and sommelier was a touch rude.
