Ocha is a regular dinner spot for us. The sizzling platter comes with steak, spaghetti, vegetables, and an egg and everything finishes cooking on the hot platter. Its very much the way steak was served in restaurants + night markets in Taiwan. Its consistently good, but dont expect top-grade meat. The vegetables sometimes comes still frozen but cooks quickly on the hot platter. The individual-sized hot pots are my favorite on a chilly night. It comes with loads of veggies, fish balls, taro, tomatoes, corn, and other regular hot pot goodies. Your choice of beef, seafood, or mushrooms to dip in the pot once the soup boils. The broth eventually soaks up all of the goodness from the veggies & the meat and becomes very hearty & flavorful - warms your soul. The other stuff is only so-so - the basil fried rice is decent, the "pad thai" is not - greasy & overly sweet. The bento boxes are a great value - comes with rice, your choice of meat, 2 side dishes (usually one veggie and one tofu) and an egg - makes a great quick lunch or dinner. They also serve bubble teas and other sweetened tea drink. Generally Ive found their teas to be overly sweet so I always get them with half or 1/3 sugar. The fried stuff (popcorn chicken, calamari, etc.) are similar to what youd find at Tapioca Express or Verde. Good Chinese street food.

When we first moved to Sunnyvale, we thought we found a tea place that we can support and go to. At first the prices were reasonable and the drinks were decent. Then we started running into issue with the people at the store. They couldnt understand us (maybe a small langue barrier), and they started getting orders wrong. When I called them about the wrong order, they gave me a "well what do you want us to do about it" attitude. They told me when I come back in, they can give me a discount. When we returned a week later and order what we usually do, the price wasnt much different, if anything it seemed like a $.50 discount. Despite the fact that there arent very many tea places nearby to where I live, we have decided to keep looking and only go to Ocha if we have to, not because we want to.

The service attitude is one of the worst ever seen, it will get worse when you talk in Mandarin, feel a bit like discriminated and insulted. I have no idea how the boss here doing the staff training, I hardly ever come here unless I was very thirsty, after several bad treatment here. Yesterday I was in a good mood, and got myself mental prepared : "you know the service quality here, just dont get too upset", but the young girl just gave me a even worse attitude and staring at me with anger and inpatient (and I was wondering if she hasnt got sleep or busy for whole day without any rest is the reason why she showed that anger towards me and other customer). So the good mood was ruined...

Disclaimer: Ive only ever tried their bubble tea, so I cant speak to their food quality. Ocha is one of the better bubble tea business in Mountain View, competing with Tea Annie, TeaSpoon, Tea Era, and more. Although its not the hands down best, it can certainly compete with these other bubble tea stores. My favorite thing about Ochoa is there pearls, there just doesnt seem to be anything with the right mixture of spongy, chewiness that satisfies you once your drink is done. Theyre what make this bubble tea so good, with the drink being good enough to enjoy as well. Orders are also made quickly, but like many other locales, it can get staggering busy during lunch time.

Service is sometimes terrible when the owners are not around. When the owners are around, everything is excellent. A couple of things to watch out for: - there is no tapioca before noon :) - about 38% of the time food items are spoiled or on the verge of being spoiled (imagine bite, 2 chews followed by quick spit out reaction) from the food I usually order (minced meat rice, vegetarian tofu rice plate, fried tofu snack, etc.). Complaints are frowned upon by the employees (not the owners). But the food is pretty good so I still cant resist ordering once in a while.

I cannot believe this place is still in business given how I was treated today: I went in the store, trying to order a tea. I was greeted -- or so I thought. The greeting was for someone else who came in behind me. Instead of being asked what I want to order, everybody put their attention to the new person who came. I waited about 5 minutes in vain hoping I would at least be asked what I want to order. Nothing. I guess they really dont need customers here. In the end, I had to leave without ordering anything.

Not a very consistent menu, jumping all over the map as far as foods go, but they did it pretty well. The drinks that they serve are my absolute favorite, and they are made fresh in front of you, but then sealed with a machine that they have so that you can take them on the go. Great study drinks for me to take home, and they have a wide variety of delicious flavors to choose from.

My frequent place for bubble tea and casual meals around this area. Im not sure about other low stars reviews but you dont have too many choices nearby for bubble tea and Taiwanese stuffs. Spacious space with high chair available. Service is good and usually wait time is fast because they are quite efficient. They have point card available. The price has been going up tho..

Authentic Taiwanese cafe style eatery perfect for lunch and dinner. Delicious rice, noodle plates. The hot pot / steamboats are sized for 1-2 people. Easy to dine here with kids including toddlers as there are lots to choose from. I always eat here instead od the Ranch99 cafe because its healthier, i.e. less oily. A bonus is the wide selection of boba tea!

Probably my favorite boba tea spot in the peninsula area. The bubbles are always how I like them and the range of flavors they offer is pretty extensive; i like my choices. ;) Havent tried too many of their food items but I do love their chicken bites. Try to avoid the calamari unless you like them super chewy.

Great selection of Taiwanese food including snacks, small hot pot, rice dishes, noodles and of course boba tea. Service is great and the place is clean. However my friend had teriyaki chicken and its still a bit pink inside the chicken.

Mediocre boba and milk tea. They offer a lot of food and seating which is nice. The only problem is just nothing tastes all that special to wow you. Tapioca Express will probably be a better place to go to instead.

I come here often to get take-out. I usually get the pork chop entree, which is cheap and pretty consistently satisfying. The bubble tea is also pretty good. They have a lot of different flavors and toppings.

Average teas and average food. Stick with the teas, and keep in mind not all of these are fresh, Im not a huge fan of the powder based artificial mixed drinks. Note: Loyalty Card - buy 9 get the 10th free.

Friendly staff, real brewed tea made by order, not from a big bucket, sweetness and iciness can be built to order, nice place to eat fresh food with tea drinks.
