This place changed ownership and was renamed Cafe Zoe (changed from Cafe Espresso) in mid 2008. Cafe Espresso was already wonderful, but Cafe Zoe is fantastic! (It has 4.5 stars on Yelp) Atmosphere: Really nice and cozy, with plants on the tables and a patio in the back. Free wi-fi all the time. There are toys for the kids and a full bookshelf for the adults. On Friday nights, there is live music too. This shop is off the beaten-path, so if youre looking for a quiet, family-owned place with easy parking and friendly atmosphere, this is totally the place. Food: The paninis are about $8 apiece, but theyre worth it because they are so good. The sandwiches and salads are also very good, as is the coffee. They also have smoothies and gelato for sweets-lovers, and loose leaf teas for the tea snobs. This coffee shop is in a neighborhood about a mile from downtown Palo Alto, between middlefield and 101 on Menlo Park.

Nestled in a quiet neighborhood, Cafe Zoe is exactly what Id like an neighborhood coffee shop to be. The staff was incredibly friendly and the place was clean. The had just the right amount of busy vs empty. There was plenty of seating inside and a few tables outside. There looked to be a good amount of outlets for those device junkies :) The coffee and food was good. I think I give Cafe Zoe a Very Good rating because I enjoyed my overall experience there, it makes the food taste better, ya know? I love that they support the local schools. The current art display on their walls was created by local students, and speaking with the barista, they do work with the schools to display projects. From the few hours I was there I saw a few high school kids come in to get drinks, socialize, and/or study. Community connection here is wonderful. If I only lived closer, Cafe Zoe would be a regular spot for me.

I dropped by here the other day when I was looking on Yelp for a local place to eat, and the good reviews drew me in. I had the ham, pear and brie panini and it was really delicious. I thought that the portions were very generous and that the flavor combinations were incredible. Also, the meal came with a salad that was also delicious. Overall, I truly enjoyed my experience here. I thought it was cool that they do live music with local musicians and they have a really cute community within the cafe itself, but it was so loud with the music because the cafe is so small that it was hard to talk and fully enjoy my experience.

Yay, cafe Zoe. Besides being a great little community coffee shop, the owner spends time making real espresso. They serve barefoot coffee now, and do barefoots barrista training, so they might have the best espresso in Menlo and palo alto --- just as good as Blue Bottle. The owner uses a different grind for espresso drinks, so the coffee taste "cuts" through the milk , although I dont drink them. Afternoon sandwiches are ok.

I love this place precisely because its not part of the silicon valley scene. Its an oasis of sanity in a sea of foolishness. The owner "gets" what it means to build real community through a successful business and I consider it a great asset to the neighborhood. I know all of the baristas and they all know me. You can get coffee, tea etc. In a lot of places, but you cant get what this café creates at a chain.

Food: 4 Decor: 4 Service: 4 Came here for lunch with a friend on Thursday. I was told the Tomato Basil Mozzarella was the most popular panini, but I opted for the Ham Pear, and Brie instead. The sandwich was pretty good, and the arugala and apple salad was decent as well. My friend said her chai latte was pretty good. Service was good, although my water was empty, and there was a wilty green in my salad.

Our favorite local coffee shop. They have a cozy play area in the back and yummy hearty breakfast burritos, avocado bagels, creamy lattes and hot chocolate and fruit bowl. Also, a super staff. Relaxing and delicious!!

Very nice place for coffee and atmosphere. Baked goods are fine. Breakfast sandwiches are frozen and then grilled. Staff is very nice. Parking is a bit limited. Atmosphere is quite amazing though.

My cappuccino was totally lackluster. Pastries didnt seem fresh. Sorry to say that this place isnt at all deserving of the reviews I read online.
