Ive been going to GK Mongolian since they opened. Its buffet style at dinner. You can choose from beef, chicken, pork, or turkey as your protein (shrimp is available at an extra cost). There is a wide selection of vegetables each of which can drastically alter the taste of the dish. There are several sauces ranging from sweet to spicy, which, when combined with the wide selection of vegetables and protiens, gives you countless combinations. Its a great model because the only way you can dislike the food is if you prepare it wrong yourself. Every meal comes with chips, rice, soup, and seasame biscuits. With that said what you get is an excellent value but coupled with excellent service and a fairly quiet atmosphere I consider this one of the best places to dine at in Modesto. Kids 5 and under eat free!

Im giving this place 3 stars not because the food wasnt good but because I am a germ freak. I was a little weirded out with the frozen meat sitting out the way that it was. I dug down to the bottom because I didnt know how long it had been sitting there or how many kids stuck their hands in it. It was like a salad bar. I also give it 3 stars because the staff seemed a bit confused when we said we wanted two bowls and they said no you cant have two bowls for one person even though we said we are paying for two bowls for one person. They were convinced we were trying to rip them off even before we had an opportunity to say we know we pay for each separate bowl.

Fier! Fire! Fyre! This is the stuff right here, the whole family of 7 would mosey down to Stockton from Ceres back when that was the one and only. Put this on your to-do list and then immediately go eat here but dont take it off your list, thats the most crucial step, and then come back all the time because youre hooked on G.K. like theyre McDonalds fries...

I have been here 3 times now and for some reason things are changed from the time i had a bad experience. The staff is much nicer. Food is good. Place is much cleaner. But most of all im not broke when i leave. Im giving 5 stars. They have turned this place around. Its a very good place to bring the family and have a great meal.

The food is always good! And a fair price. However its a hit or miss with the employees. Some of the employees are excellent, others just act like they are in hell there. Basically I know what kind of meal Im going to have right when I walk in and see whos working that day.

Every time I visit Modesto I make sure to visit this restaurant. Ive been to a lot of Mongolian bbqs and this is the best. Not only is there a wide selection of meats and other vegetables/herbs/seasonings/sauces that you can add to your mean, but the atmosphere is very nice!

I love this place. The waitresses are friendly and very attentive. Never ran out of my drink. The cooks are awesome and willing to give their advice on sauces and combinations. Very helpful. My favorite spot in Modesto to eat, if only my wife enjoyed it as much as I do.

This place has gone down hill. A complete new staff. The pastries and won-ton were stale. To top off our visit we tasted CIGARETTE ASHES IN THE EGG DROP SOUP. This was brought to the attention of the staff however nothing was said to us regarding this health issue.

Prices are very reasonable, food is so good we try to eat there at least every other couple of weeks! Its something different, and you could make the bowls how you want them! Spicy, sweet, or sweet and spicy this place is worth checking out!

Food was delicious. Hard to go wrong when you get to pick your own meats, veggies and sauces. Service was great and price was comparable to other all you can eat Mongolian BBQ places Ive been to further north in the Sacramento area.

When I went the food was almost empty, there was food all over the floor, the employee wasnt very helpful and this was my first time there. Once my food was cooked it was delicious, a little greasier than Id like but still good.

The place was filthy, no toilet paper in the womens bathroom, and the servers were extremely slow. The food was ok, but I was really disappointed. Also, the majority of unused tables were dirty and hasnt been cleared yet.

Good option for vegan/vegetarian food, assuming you arent weird about utensils "touching meat" or whatever... obviously they all use same wok. Just make sure you mention up front that you dont want the soup or won tons.

Good all you can eat "hot pot meets tepanyaki" style at Genghis Khan Mongolian bbq. Good price point, similar to that of avg fast food cost. Doesnt include drinks however. Noodles limited to soba (wheat base).
